Essential question[edit]

Is she forever essential? Or like her family is supposed to die in certain quest? Does she survive the quest and player getting her house? — Unsigned comment by ‎79.119.109.144 (talk) at 23:50 on 13 December 2012

She is essential at the start of the game. Currently it is unknown for most Dragonborn esssential NPCs whether and when they loose that status. --Alfwyn (talk) 23:56, 13 December 2012 (GMT)
I was the one who added the info about Vendil and Tilisu losing their essential status during Served Cold. When I entered the house during the quest, Mirri and Tilisu were both hostile. I was in sneak mode, however, so I gathered the evidence I needed while my follower fought them, then left the house and immediately moved on to the next part of the quest (without ever killing them). Later, in Ashfallow Citadel, I killed both Vendil and Tilisu but never saw Mirri (or if I did, I killed her from a distance and never found her body). I only added the information on when Vendil and Tilisu lose their essential status because those two were the only ones I could definitely confirm. As for Mirri, I'm guessing she loses her essential status at the same time as Tilisu-- if they're both hostile toward you inside the house, you should reasonably be able to kill them at that point (in fact, now that I think about it, it's possible my follower killed her and I didn't realize it). However, information like this should only be added to the article if it's verified from experience rather than speculation (even reasonable speculation). — ABCface 19:58, 14 December 2012 (GMT)
I had my follower wait outside Severin Manor while I sneaked past the ladies and got the evidence without harming either of them. Later, I killed Vendil and Tilisu but couldn't find Mirri. Back in Raven Rock, though, I used moveto player on Mirri and got her corpse, dressed in Morag Tong armor and carrying the Severin Safe Key (which Tilisu's body didn't have).
BTW Mirri was carrying three expensive gems and a gold diamond necklace--which fits with the in-game hints that she was more than Vendil's "daughter". Wyldebill (talk) 02:02, 17 March 2013 (GMT)
When I was doing this quest, I simply snuck past Tilisu and Mirri in Severin Manor killing neither woman. As I progressed through the quest, Mirri was also in Ashfallow Citadel wearing Morag Tong armour and was immediately hostile towards me forcing me to kill her. That seems like evidence that she loses her essential status at the same time as Tilisu. Has this scenario happened to anyone else? Thelisaraptor (talk) 17:21, 18 May 2013 (GMT)

Dunmer Shoes unusually / specially can be enchanted with Fortify Destruction[edit]

Xbox 360

Once I got the go ahead to get the key to their house to investigate if they were traitors, I came in with my Dremora Lord already summoned. Once the dust settled, the mom's head was on the floor from the Dremora Lord, and Mirri's body was next to her mom's.

I collected from one of the bodies a Dunmer outfit and matching set of shoes.

When I was trying to level up my enchanting by enchanting everything I had on hand, I found that the shoes could not be enchanted with sneak, but instead with destruction--which is otherwise impossible to do. As such I set these special shoes aside until I could extra effect enchant them with something that I needed later that would be "nice" to have otherwise.

Can anyone else confirm the "special" status of these shoes? Then add this to the article since I searched and found no mention of this special status? 198.91.176.251 04:15, 31 January 2018 (UTC)

Yes, the Dunmer Shoes that she wears incorrectly have the ClothingBody keyword, rather than ClothingFeet, changing the types of enchantment available. This is noted on the clothing page as it has no relevance to here or the quest page. Any others you find will behave exactly the same. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 19:57, 31 January 2018 (UTC)
