Disambig unnecessary[edit]

Many thanks for your entheusiasm, Game Lord! I'm delighted to meet another Daggerfall player. I am aware both the CITY and PROVINCE share a common name. I assume you examined the links contained very carefully before adding the redirect and disambig macros, since you were so good as to include links to "(province)" and "(city)". I do have a few questions though. When do you plan on going through the "What Links Here" report to revector all the links? You might also want to examine the Vampires At A Glance table, as well as each of the nine vampiric bloodlines present in Daggerfall, since they all link to multiple provinces. Do you plan on fixing those links? I don't mind a little organization (in fact I welcome your efforts!), I just want to know "What is your plan?" so I won't end up working against you. For my own two cents, I've been using "Name" for the province and "Name (city)" for the provincial seat. If you don't think that is a good plan I encourage you to enlighten me. We are all here in this together after all. --Uniblab 16:57, 12 May 2008 (EDT)

I undid the disambig page because I really didn't think it was necessary. It just adds an unnecessary layer of wiki bureaucracy that will get in the way of wiki readers and wiki editors. Whenever possible we should try to make it so that when readers type a word into the search box they get taken straight to the page they want, instead of forcing them to go through a disambiguation page. If the reader is taken to the wrong page, there are crosslinks from Ephesus to Ephesus (city) and vice versa right at the top of both articles. Furthermore, as uniblab pointed out all of the other Daggerfall pages are done using this format, and all of the links are currently set up based on this format. Changing it (again, after I just did a reorg of many of these pages) just seems like creating work that doesn't help anyone. --NepheleTalk 20:10, 12 May 2008 (EDT)
Thanks, Nephele. I was mostly worried I might be entering a "Three Stooges" situation, where he and I end up spending more time clobbering the other's edits rather than actually contributing. While it is funny to watch the them all try to enter a doorway at the same time (but they end up shouldering into each other, and so none actually enter the room), situations like that in Real Life can often prove quite frustrating. --Uniblab 17:48, 13 May 2008 (EDT)
