Using Calm 1pt on 50ft[edit]

"Just around the corner, be careful because as soon as you attack any of the werewolves you see, you will be swarmed by as many as seven werewolves at once. A very difficult fight if you are not ready for it." -> Well this didn't happen for me. I think it happened becouse of the "calm 1pt on 50ft" that the person who first wrote the page reccomended. When you cast "calm" and it fails, the creature become aware of you. So he inadvertedly cast calm on the werewolves, thus alerting them. I know, becouse I tried using a weapon with calm 1pt 50 feet as reccomended in the outer ring and the werewolves swarmed me. Using calm 1 pt 50 feet is not always the best course of action, becouse 1 pt will probabily fail and alert the werewolves. If youre gonna use the 1pt 50feet calm tactic, use with caution. --Max Welrod 15:18, 9 February 2009 (EST)

helmet of hircine?[edit]

i just did the hircines hunt as a werewolf sneaking around, and as i snuck up on a werewolf ice statue i noticed as it transformed the text box said helmet of hircine (it might of been statue of hircine) for a second can anyone relate to this? (Eddie the head 11:22, 2 June 2011 (UTC))

Those werewolves are titled Hound of Hircine --Brf 11:32, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
that makes sense thanks! (Eddie the head 11:34, 2 June 2011 (UTC))

Trouble With Werewolves?[edit]

I entered this quest at the highest level and still greatly struggled with the werewolves, however if you use any silver weapon against them, they are significantly easier and make the quest a sinch. — Unsigned comment by Creeh5 (talkcontribs) at 03:02 on 5 December 2011

Keeps Crashing?[edit]

Every time I try to select an answer to Hircine's question (a hunter's greatest strength), Morrowind crashes. What can I do?

I installed Tribunal and Bloodmoon same day, not sure which was first. Yes, I have mods, and I probably need patches

WilloweWolf 14:57, 1 August 2012 (UTC)

Did you install Tribunal before Bloodmoon? Have you got any mods running? Is your game fully patched? Vely►t►e 16:01, 1 August 2012 (UTC)
Patches would be located here. I would download the patch first, then remove some mods if that doesn't work. You might also want to check out the mods' pages and see if there's any reported issues with this. If neither of those fix it, uninstall Bloodmoon and Tribunal and reinstall them in the correct order (Tribunal first), then reapply the patch.
If none of that works, you may need to find a way to use the console to bypass the issue, or open up the Construction Set and attempt altering something. Good luck with it. Vely►t►e 17:43, 1 August 2012 (UTC)

Heart-Fang[edit]

I've discovered that apparently Heart-Fang will give the same speech (with associated journal message) as when the chest is opened if the player attacks him three or four times, and then fights the player. Can someone confirm this, please, to check that it's not some quirk of my computer? — Unsigned comment by Pi4t (talkcontribs) at 22:18 on 18 September 2012‎

Missing Key[edit]

For someone reason, the first key just won't appear in the chest, no matter how I try to proceed with this portion of the quest as a non-werewolf.

Had to add the key to my inventory, which gave me the journal and the key.

additem player-> "key_hircine1" 1 (Thanks to Bloodmoon:Keys)

(Still not sure what caused the missing key. I have Morrowind Overhaul and I'm a Vampire. Being a vampire also prevented me from getting Lycanthropy when the main quest is supposed to give it to you. Only way past that, since there was no lycanthropy for me to cure but they insist I need to cure it, was to progress the journal through the console.) — Unsigned comment by 71.56.253.176 (talk) at 21:20 on 11 November 2012

I also had this issue, and I played neither as a vampire or as werewolf - I just accepted the cure for lycanthropy at that point in the questline. I also play with MGSO as well as a host of other mods, but I wouldn't expect any of them to affect this. Michaelt919 (talk) 20:38, 25 May 2014 (GMT)
Since I installed Morrowind Overhaul, a great majority of locked chests have been empty, including both chests that are supposed to contain the keys for the Bloodmoon mainquest maze. This gives me reason to suspect that something with MwOH empties chests as a bug. — Unsigned comment by 79.102.190.40 (talk) at 22:38 on 21 March 2015 (GMT)
As this discussion has revealed that the bug probably is done by a mod, it is no longer a subject for these talk pages, as we do not normally document mods and their effects here. —MortenOSlash (talk) 04:15, 22 March 2015 (GMT)
This is a major issue and deserves to be documented here as a game-killing exceptional circumstance lest people go mad. — Unsigned comment by 86.136.244.249 (talk) at 22:09 on 9 December 2015 (UTC)

Dead Carius[edit]

We don't say anywhere in the article what the outcome is if you kill Carius or allow him to die. Presumably this has some effect on dialogue at Fort Frostmoth afterward, or do they just keep telling you he's missing, forever? — Darklocq  ¢ 09:36, 11 June 2017 (UTC)

List Rite of the Wolf Giver as an Optional Next Quest[edit]

I realize that Rite of the Wolf Giver is an optional quest, but I still think it should be listed at both the top and bottom as the next quest with "Optional" in parentheses in case someone does not see it buried in this lengthier-than-usual wiki page. — Unsigned comment by Keneticmotion (talkcontribs) at 17:38 on 4 August 2021 (UTC)

Using Chameleon to Rest[edit]

I'd also like to add a Note here and maybe on the Hints Before Playing page about using Chameleon to Rest when the game won't allow you because of enemies nearby. Using Chameleon circumvents this, though I'm not sure how high the Chameleon has to be at (I customized mine to 100 pts so it always works for me -- just not sure if it'd work for someone at 1 pt, too). — Unsigned comment by Keneticmotion (talkcontribs) at 17:42 on 4 August 2021 (UTC)
