4E 48 - 5th of Frostfall
Damn it all! I knew this was too good to be true!
That vault doesn't hold treasure, nor knowledge aplenty, it hoards something much worse. I don't know if this was the doing of the last wizard to live here. I don't even know if it that thing was the last resident of this place.

All I know is that it's killed two of my apprentices. I managed to get Teldrin and Cara out safely, but not before nearly getting blasted apart by a fireball. We're lucky, it seems to like to stay in the vault. Maybe it likes the cold of it, I don't know, I'm not used to having so little information.

Unfortunately, we're being held up in the upper floor of this tower for some unknown reason. Every time we try to make a run for it, the creature sees us coming and drives us right back up! Maybe it's planning to use us like those other bodies we saw. If that's the case...

It is imperative that we escape. There are portals up here, but they all seem to be freezing over. I won't take the chance to try using any of them. Our only chance is to rush the entryway. I'll do my best to hold the thing off, with luck, Teldrin and Cara will be able to escape and seal this place, and hopefully I'll be with them.
