Better Cities:Console

The UESPWiki – Your source for The Elder Scrolls since 1995
Jump to: navigation, search

Deprecated. These console commands no longer exist since Better Cities v6.1.0[edit]

How to use the console:
- Open your console with the key `
- Begin by typing StartQuest followed by a space
- and then use the command you want to use.
- press Enter and close your console by pressing ` again.
(example StartQuest OBCBravilToggleQuest will toggle city Bravil open/closed)

You don't need to use capital letters at all, they are merely used here to make it easier to read the commands.

You can use each command multiple times, so you can change your mind as often as you want!

These can be run any time, you don't have to be in the city they affect for them to work.

If you use OBSE v16 or above, the only command you need to know is how to run the in-game menu:
StartQuest BBCMenu

Alternatively, type StartQuest followed by any of the following:

Content[edit]

If you want to use Open Better Cities:
Anvil: OBCAnvilToggleQuest
Bravil: OBCBravilToggleQuest
Bruma: OBCBrumaToggleQuest
Cheydinhal: OBCCheydinhalToggleQuest
Chorrol: OBCChorrolToggleQuest
Leyawiin: OBCLeyawiinToggleQuest
Skingrad: OBCSkingradToggleQuest
Use it again to revert to the regular City and back and forth. Best to run these commands when in the Imperial City.

The Market District and the Temple Districts are linked to the Waterfront Tunnel Entrance. If you want to disable/enable this feature (enabled by default):
BANICMarketToggleWTE to toggle it on/off in the Market District
BANICTempleToggleWTE to toggle it on/off in the Temple District

Some people find that when in the Imperial City there are too many POI markers (map markers) appearing on the compass. To enable a script which dynamically hides the POI markers when in the Imperial City, and reveal them again when out of the Imperial City:
StartQuest BANICCompassPOIZeroDistance
This may not work as intended if you also use the mod Map Marker Overhaul. If problems occur with the POI markers, disable this again.
To disable this script (ensure you are not in the Imperial City when using this):
StopQuest BANICCompassPOIZeroDistance

Some cities contain rotting corpses, body parts, gallows, a chopping block... If you don't like these things in your cities use the following commands to toggle them on and off:
BANBravilToggleGore

If you don't want the Wall Archers walking the city walls, you can use the following commands to disable/enable them (disabled by default - and they won't appear at all when using Open Better Cities):
BANToggleWallArchersAnvil
BANToggleWallArchersBravil
BANToggleWallArchersBruma
BANToggleWallArchersChorrol
BANToggleWallArchersLeyawiin
BANToggleWallArchersSkingrad

If you have problems with low FPS in the cities, you may want to try limiting the number of NPCs allowed to wander in the city streets. With the following commands you can toggle whether BC NPCs are allowed to wander the streets (allowed by default - this will not stop our NPCs from travelling between places, nor from following specific instructions in the streets):
BANLimitAIAnvilToggle
BANLimitAIBravilToggle
BANLimitAIBrumaToggle
BANLimitAICheydinhalToggle
BANLimitAIChorrolToggle
BANLimitAILeyawiinToggle
BANLimitAISkingradToggle
BANLimitAIICArboretumToggle
BANLimitAIICArcaneUniversityToggle
BANLimitAIICArenaToggle
BANLimitAIICElvenGardensToggle
BANLimitAIICGreenEmperorWayToggle
BANLimitAIICMarketToggle
BANLimitAIICPrisonToggle
BANLimitAIICTalosPlazaToggle
BANLimitAIICWaterfrontToggle
BANLimitAIICImperialCityToggle
Bravil, Market and Waterfront should definitely make a difference, the others will either provide a small improvement or no improvement at all as we don't have very many NPCs wandering the streets in the other cities/districts.

Compatibility[edit]

The following commands are compatibility adjustments for other mods. OBSE v14+ users will automatically receive these fixes upon detection of the other mods in your data folder.
The UnFix commands will need to be run manually if you decide to stop using a conflicting mod.

If you use Better Cities and Clocks of Cyrodiil BC version, use the following command:
BANLeyawiinCoCFix

If you decide to stop using Clocks of Cyrodiil BC version, use the following command to put things back to normal in Leyawiin:
BANLeyawiinCoCUnfix

If you use Better Cities Anvil and either moDem's City Life or Xeo, use the following command:
BANAnvilmoDemFix

If you decide to stop using moDem's City Life or Xeo, use the following command to put things back to normal in Anvil:
BANAnvilmoDemUnFix

If you use Better Cities: Cheydinhal and A Saint's Tale: The Glory of Eagle's Pass, then use the following command to toggle off/on some objects which conflict with Eagle's Pass:
BANCheydinhalToggleEaglePass

Immersion & Integration[edit]

The following commands are entirely optional, and help to integrate Better Cities with other popular mods. These are not for compatibility, merely for added immersion!

Better Cities adds four NPCs who can transport you to other cities by ship (purely through dialogue). One in Anvil, one in Bravil, one in Leyawiin and one in the Imperial City Tunnel.
If you use Iliana's Elsweyr: Deserts of Anequina, the following command will add the option to sail to Duncori Walk and Senchal:
SetCellOwnership BANElsweyrDummyCell
You can also remove the option to sail to Duncori Walk and Senchal with the following command:
SetCellOwnership BANElsweyrDummyCell 100981A

If you use onra's Summerset Landscapes, the following command will add the option to sail to Firsthold:
SetCellOwnership BANFirstholdDummyCell
You can also remove the option to sail to Firsthold with the following command:
SetCellOwnership BANFirstholdDummyCell 100981A

If you use onra's Fort Akatosh or Fort Akatosh Redux, the following command will add the option to sail to Fort Akatosh:
SetCellOwnership BANFortAkatoshDummyCell
You can also remove the option to sail to Fort Akatosh with the following command:
SetCellOwnership BANFortAkatoshDummyCell 100981A

If you use Tamriel Rebuit's Stirk, the following command will add the option to sail to Stirk:
SetCellOwnership BANStirkDummyCell
You can also remove the option to sail to Stirk with the following command:
SetCellOwnership BANStirkDummyCell 100981A

If you use Dragon Caption's Sutch Reborn, the following command will add the option to sail to Sutch:
SetCellOwnership BANSutchDummyCell
You can also remove the option to sail to Sutch with the following command:
SetCellOwnership BANSutchDummyCell 100981A

If you have OBSE, each time you launch the BBCMenu the game will automatically check whether you are using Elsweyr, Fort Akatosh (Redux), Stirk, or Sutch Reborn, and will toggle these for you.
