Variner's Ghost
28 November 2002

In the Sewers of the Great Bazaar you will encounter the Dunmer woman Narisa Adus. She will tell you how she and her lover, Variner, encountered the Black Dart Gang in the Temple Sewers. Variner was killed defending her and now his ghost haunts her at night. She asks you to help her by finding Variner's ghost and get any message he might have.

The Temple Sewers can be reached via the Temple's Hall of Ministry, through the Basement, and into the Sewers. Variner's Ghost can be found near the center of this area and indeed has a message for you. It appears that the infamous Black Dart gang can be found in the Temple Sewers West. To make the task easier, Variner will tell you how to kill the gang by flooding the area via a lever that looks like a torch near the east end of the area near the gang. The ghost warns you not to get too close to the gang or you risk the same fate as himself. The entrance to the West Temple Sewers is in the same area NorthEast or so of Variner.

The Black Dart Gang members can be found shortly within this area as red robed Dunmer. You can kill them if you are careful but those darts they throw do pack quite a punch so be careful. The gang's headquarters are in the West section of the sewers and there are four members to be killed. There is also one Gang member in the East Temple Sewers. Alternatively, the Torch that Variners Ghost mentions is just between the doors you entered when going to Temple Sewers West... so it's as far away from the actual gang you can actually be... which makes it sort of strange that he actually warns you for getting to close to them. After you push the switch it breaks so you can't drain the water which fills the sewer again. Note that Variner disappears after you speak to him and leave the area.

Return to Narisa Adus once you've killed or drowned the Black Dart Gang. She will thank you and reward you with Variner's Ring (Charm 1 to 50 pts for 5 secs on Touch, 160 charges, 12 charges used per cast with a 70 enchant skill).

Find Dilborn
23 November 2002

In the center of the Godsreach District you'll find the simple tongued Thrud wandering around looking for his lost friend Dilborn. Inquire further and you'll learn that Dilborn the wizard has been missing for three days now and that he was last seen entering the sewers in the area. Thrud will insist on helping you find his friend. The sewers entrance are in the NorthWest corner of the District.

You'll find Dilborn and three of his 'friends' in the central area of the Residential Sewers. Dilborn has nothing interesting to say except for a few cries of help, and the nearby goons will direct you to their leader, Drathas Nerus. Apparently the wizard owed Drathas money and he is determined to get it one way or the other. If you try and attack his henchmen will attack and kill poor Dilborn. If you are quick and skilled enough, however, you can attack and take the three of them out with help from Thrud. Drathas has a nice paralyzing weapon, though, so caution is advised. If you choose to pay the money Dilborn owes, speak to Drathas to find out the sum is a whopping 3000 gold. If you ask to lower the fee you can get it down to 1000 gold. If you threaten him he will order his men to attack Dilborn (who doesn't last too long). I prefered to give them the money and then kill them for their insolence (Drathas has a few nice items).

Speak to Thrud once Dilborn is free to receive the book Trap as a reward.

Winged Guar Bouncer
14 January 2003

Speak to Hession at the top of the Winged Guar in the Godsreach district about some work he has available. Hession wants you to kill in for his usual bouncer, Grub, for a while, making one sweep of the bar crowd as he puts it. Just talk to everyone in the bar and throw them out if they are too drunk or unruley.

  1. Homlar - Drunk but seems fine agrees to leave after his drink.
  2. Denegor - Drunk and gets a little upset when you talk to him. You might be able to convince him to calm down or you might have to fight him (just Hand-to-Hand).
  3. Therdon - Nothing
  4. Bakh grto-Sham - Nothing
  5. Sosecan - Nothing
  6. Mitanne Limax - Nothing
  7. Galms Seles - Nothing
  8. Ra'Tesh - Nothing
Depending on your disposition/faction you may start a fist-fight by talking to some of the patrons Note that you can actually finish the quest by just talking to the two people at the top of the bar near to Hession (or perhaps sooner). Speak to Hession to receive your 500 gold reward.

Includes Contributions from Jerry.

Game of Shells
23 November 2002

Galms Seles in bottom of the Winged Guar in Godsreach will offer you a game of shells where you can wager 100, 500, or 1000 gold. It does not appear you can actually win the game so consider any money you give him a generous donation. Ra'Tesh behind the bar will tell you as much if you ask him for the latest rumours. Once you speak with Ra'Tesh, accept another game with Galms and confront him about it, though he will deny doing anything wrong and promise you fair odds in the future (which he doesn't). He mentions speaking with Hession about it but I couldn't get Hession to talk about related to Galms.

If you get the bouncer quest first from Hession, then do the shell game one and report back to Hession she mentions you calmed down a drunk and caught a con man and gives you 1,000 instead of 500.

Includes Contributions from Motoki.

Ilnori Faustus
30 November 2002

Speak with Ilnori Faustus in the Craftsman Hall in the Godsreach district. He'll tell you that he's simply too good be be a simple apprentice and has ambitions to become an adventurer. He continues to say that they next time you come by he most likely won't be around. Speak with Bols Indalen in a short while (you may need to leave the building and return) and he'll complain to you that Ilnori Faustis just upped and left his job without telling anyone. He mentions that if you know of anyone looking to work as his apprentice to let him know.

Speak with the black guy in the Winged Guar (Trebonus?), anyways, he asks you to drink with him and you learn that he was a pillow maker. But then it automatically says "Bols is looking for an apprentice?" So, if you hook him up with a job, he gives you 2 master armorers hammers.

Includes Contributions from Angelo Mantzios.

Clutter Collection
23 January 2003

Detritus Caria in the Craftsman Hall in the Godsreach district just cannot stop chatting about his extensive clutter collection. Detritus will ask you to track down a few items missing from his impressive collection, a bolt of Imperial Rat Hair Fabric (eww) and a Brushed Silver Pitcher. He says the fabric is recognized by its burgundy color and diamond pattern. He doesn't give you any further indications on where to find either of them. You might try and spend some time asking people around about the two items, or checking merchants to see if they have them, but you won't have any luck if you are looking for items with the exact name. Instead, simply look for a regular Silver Pitcher (sold at the Pawn Shop in the Great Bazaar) and a regular bolt of cloth (several found under a bookcase in the Clothier shop in the Great Bazaar, red and yellow pattern, it is not sold so you will have to steal it, use of a Telekinesis spell works well here).

Return to Detritus with the Silverware Picture and the red/yellow bolt of cloth to receive 300 gold and the title of Champion of Clutter. The two items now appear in his collection under their full names.

After the pitcher and cloth you are asked to find a tall redware pot (Trader, shelves, bottom shelf), Imperial fork/knife/spoon (small chest in Velas Manor after you kill the wizard) and a yellow plate (Balmora Council Club, table downstairs).

The final quest after all of these is for Dwarven clutter - two goblets of different sizes, pitcher, tankard and large bowl. All of these may be found in the Hall of Walls in Bamz-Amschend. Note that the tankard is identified as a mug. Detritus gives you 2000 gold and the final title of Champion of Clutter.

Includes Contributions fron Hannibal Smith.

High-Pockets and Holmar
26 January 2003

High-Pockets in the Godsreach district will complain to you about that clay-brained Nord Holmar inside of the Winged Guar. Apparently Holmar bullied the Elf and through him out of the bar. High-Pockets wants to accompany you while you go inside and confront Holmar. You can try and calm the big guy down but he'll refuse and you'll probably need to kill him. If you offer to buy Holmar a drink he will gladly take you up on it and pass out (you'll still get the reward).

Talk to High-Pockets again and receive 250 gold and the Ring of Icegrip as your reward.

If you speak with Galms Seles, the shell-game con man, play a fixed game, then speak with Ra-Tesh behind the bar about Galms, and then confront Galms, you can receive a 1000 gold reward at the end from Hession.

High-Pockets will have a slightly different encounter with you if you have a copy of Sernomas Sermons in your inventory, he will ask to borrow it for a few days, and says stuff about his parents, but when you come back a few days later he gives you the reward, his book, and his clothes. This reward is a few coins larger (FEW because of the clothes value) and there is a naked bosmer in front of the Winged Guar now, who changed his life because of you.

Includes Contributions from Motoki and Tolkien.

The Droth Dagger
9 November 2003

You'll find Geon Auline in his mansion in the Godsreach district. He mentions that he is searching for the rare Droth Dagger and asks if you will help find it. The Dagger is currently being held by the recent widow Arnsa Thendas who will be auctioning the Dagger off shortly. Geon wants you to try and buy the Dagger from her or use other means to secure it from her. Arnsa can be found in the Thendas manor very close to the Auline manor. Ask her about the particular item and she will offer to sell you the Dagger for a measly 600 gold. Accept the offer unless you want to try other, less legal, means.

The Dagger is not-magical so no use in keeping it, but return it to Geon who will give you 800 gold for it.

Note: People have mentioned that before you contact Geon Auline, you must first talk to Arnsa Thendas about her estate sale before he'll mention the Droth Dagger.

Includes Contributions from David Wright.

Mad Golena Sadri
19 June 2003

You'll find Golena Sadri in the bottom of her house in the Godsreach district. She will go rather crazy when you try and talk to her so regular conversation is out of the question. Speak to Alcan Llarys beside her to learn that she has recently gone crazy for no apparent reason, although she was in contact with Elbert Nermare over in the Craftsman Hall. Alcan asks you to go and speak with Elbert to see if he can shed any light on her condition. Elbert can be found upstairs in the Craftsman hall and will tell you that Golena used to come by every so often asking about some strange devices that shocked him. Elbert is adament that he wants nothing further to do with the woman. All he can say about the devices are that they might Dwemer in origin, and are definitely deadly.

When you return to the Sadri estate, you'll find Alvan Llarys at the bottom of the stairs. He'll inform you that he had just stepped out for a bit of air when something happened inside and now no one is answering the door. The door is now locked (level 90) so get a good pick or spell handy. Inside you'll find a dead Ordinator and a passage leading down to the sewers. You'll emerge into a seperate section of the sewers and you'll shortly discover the body of Tadera Andules with her throat cut. You'll continue on with the Forgotten Sewer area which has a half-hidden entrance in the floor under the crates in the middle. Unfortunately the crates on top of the tid prevent you from opening it. Use the wheel attached to the pipe in the ceiling to flood the area and let the crates float above the trap door so you can open it. Inside this short area you'll find another exit and another wheel to lower the water level.

Once in this area you'll spot a few strange devices lying on the ground. Avoid them as they discharge when you get near them or walk over them and will hurt you. The only for sure method to avoid it is sneaking or using alot of resist magic. Some of the traps further in will shoot projectiles at you from a good distance as well. Deep inside you'll encounter a figure in glass armour wielding a Daedric Bow, Golena Sadri. When you get close she will spot you and combat will begin. Be wary of her bow and arrows, they can easily do more than 200 points of damage per hit and can paralyze you for 20 seconds as well (if you're lucky and can reflect spells she might paralyze herself). She has the enchanted artifact Mace of Slurring on her corpse.

Return to the Godsreach district and report back to Alvan Llarys outside the Sadri manor. He will mourn the loss of Golena but understands that it had to be done.

Important Bonus: After I killed Golena, I found her bow and arrows. Now, there's just a few of those arrows on her to begin with, but after I took those arrows, and "re-opened" her corps, I found 50 more. And after I took the 50, and once again there's 50 more. So everytime I close and open her corps, there's 50 of those nice poison arrows. I ended up with about 12k of these arrows. Now my husban played on a different mashine, with a different set up and character all together, and the samething happened to him too. This might be worth your while to go and check it out. But her corpse disappears after a few days though. So get as many arrows as you can and recall out of there or something.

Includes Contributions from Tim Haley and Lypzy.

Murder Sosecan
23 November 2002

The Vacant Manor in the Godsreach District you'll find to be not so vacant after all. At first, you are told to get lost but speak to Dovor Oren about business and you'll be invited to help out. Apparently he and his friends are unhappy about the state of things between them and the nobles and want to do something about it. He vaguely mentions tools used to get where some noble Sosecan is and ask you to help get them. When it comes down to it, all they want you to do is kill Sosecan and return with his sword and cuirass as proof (though you think they could be more straight forward about the whole thing).

Dovor says that you should be able to find Sosecan in his usual bar, assumably the Winged Guar since that is the only one in the area and, indeed, you'll find him wearing a magical ebony cuirass downstairs. Unfortunately he won't respond to any dialogue so the only apparent option is to kill him (I used a Frenzy Human spell to get him to attack me and avoid the murder charge).

Return to Dovor and give him the sword and cuirass to receive a 5000 gold reward and the option of performing more work for him.

Murder Elanande
23 November 2002

Return and speak to Dovor Oren in the Vacant Manor in the Godsreach District after you murder Sosecan for him. Mention that you wish to assist him and he'll tell you to talk with Felvan in the same room. Felvan Ienith is looking for some new equipment and says he would like the robe and axe that Elanande in Godsreach has. He won't give you exact directions to find this woman however. Elanande can be found in the NorthWest corner of the district by the canal. Like Sosecan, she will not talk with you forcing you to have to kill her to retreive the items (again, use a Frenzy spell to avoid the murder charge).

Return to Ienith with the items and receive a 1000 gold as a reward.

Murder Bels Uvenim
23 November 2002

Return and speak to Dovor Oren in the Vacant Manor in the Godsreach District after you murder Elanande and offer to assist him again. This time it is Olvyne Dobar that you are directed to speak with, standing next to Dovor. Olvyne asks you to kill Bels Uvenim who hangs around the temple and return with his spear and helm. Bels can be found in the NorthWest side of the Temple and again will not talk to you, forcing his death in the end.

Return to Olvyne with the items and receive a 1000 gold as a reward.

Murder Suldreni Salandas
23 November 2002

Return and speak to Dovor Oren in the Vacant Manor in the Godsreach District after you murder Bels Uvenim and offer to assist him again. For this last job you are to murder one Suldreni Salandas and return to him her amulet and mace. He doesn't mention where to find her but you can assume that she is nearby like the previous three. This time the victim is found wandering on the West side of the Great Bazaar. Kill her and loot the corpse.

Return to Dovor with the items and receive a 4000 gold as a reward.

Robot Arena
18 December 2002

In the basement of the Ignatius Manor in the Godsreach District you will find Ignatius Flaccus standing next to his Robot Arena. Unfortunately all his robots are currently broken and he wants you to find 10 pieces of Dwemer scrap metal in order to repair them. If you haven't explored the Dwemer ruins in the main quest yet, your best bet is to check the merchants in the Great Bazaar or, if you're like me and ate all the scrap metal, you'll have to do another trip down to Bamz-Aschend in the Plaza center (you might have to progress far enough in the main quest to access this ruin).

Return to Ignatois with the 10 pieces of scrap metal and he'll ask you for three Dwemer cogs (which he could of told you original and save you a trip or two). Head back down to the Dwemer ruins again. Amounh other areas, there are a number of cogs in the NorthEast corner of the Hall of Winds, just off the entrance to the ruins. They are quite heavy at 50 lbs each, so those weaker characters might need to make a few trips.

Return to Ignatius with the three cogs and he'll thank you, telling you to return in a little while once he has time to repair the robots. You can just leave the area and return and the robots will be ready. Speak with Ignatius to start a fight and even bet on the outcome (I bet 1000 gold on the Centurion and won). Once the fight is over that is it, you cannot continue further unfortunately.

Return to the robot arena man later on (I left it a few days) talk to the man and he will say you have already seen it and won your money. Leave the building and go toward the Great Bazaar - the woman wandering around there will mention the Robot Arena. Talk to her and she will tell you that the door is locked and there are noises from inside. Go back and sure enough a lock (level 50) is on the door. Pick the lock and go downstairs the containment field is gone and the man is hiding behind the table in the corner. Wade in and klonk them - I think it was 3 spheres and 2 centurions. Talk to man and bosh he will reward you with about 2000 gold.

Includes Contributions fron Steven Lea.

A Cheating Husband
12 December 2002

Deldrise Andoren in the Andoren Manor in the Godsreach District will ask you to search for her missing husband. He has recently been going out late at night and not returning until early in the morning, if at all. Deldrise fears that he may be cheating on her and wants you to check it out. She says that her husband sometimes hangs around the Winged Guar and wants you to try following him so he doesn't suspect anything.

Wait until evening and start looking around the Winged Guar for her husband, Taren Andoren. I found him at the top of the stairs leading to the Craftsman hall at around 7 pm (you receive a journal entry when you spot him). He will start sneaking around to the back of the Craftsman hall where he'll meet up with a woman, Velyna Seran. You receive another journal entry at this point to report back to his wife. Assumably if you get to close to Taren he might spot you and ruin the quest (you receive a warning if you get too close to him).

Report what you have seen to Deldrise and receive 250 gold as a reward, or 1000 gold if you killed the other women.

Note that after you follow the husband, see him meet his girlfriend, and get a journal entry to talk to the wife, don't report back just yet as you can talk to the couple. Talking with the husband gets an immediate dialogue termination. Talking to the girlfriend makes her attack you with a dagger (the husband will attack you too, but only with fists). If you kill them both, the wife will be very upset and won't give you a reward. If you kill just the girlfriend and then run away to report to the wife, the wife will be very happy and give you 1000 gold.

Includes Contributions from Brian Quinette and Jue Kai.

Theatre Troupe
24 November 2002

Talk to Meryn Othralas in the Great Bazaar area to learn that his troupe is performing its own drama. Unfortunately they are without the actor Tarvus Beleth who has become ill and are looking for someone to replace him. Since you just happen to look somewhat like the ill actor, Meryn will offer you to take the part of Clavides, Captain of the Imperial Guard in the production. Accept and he'll give you the play script, The Horror of Castle Xyr, telling you to review it and talk to him again. He does say that you must return within two minutes as the part requires exact timing.

Read the book given to you, keeping in mind that you are playing the part of Clavides. Review the lengthy play though unless you an exceptional memory, you won't be able to memorize all the correct lines. Talk to Meryn one again who will take back the book and tell you to get one stage to the center of the rug and deliver your lines (he'll be counting any mistakes).

As soon as you hit the rug you'll be frozen and the play will commence. You are given a multiple choice question when its your turn to deliver a line and you will be notified of any mistakes you make. Everything goes well until you deliver your As, I hear, are all Telvanni line, upon which, an assassin, one Dravil Indrano, will attack you. Defend yourself, kill him, and speak with Meryn once again.

Apparently Meryn was completely aware of the assassin and sent you in to deal with it as well as to protect the actor Tarvus, who the assassin was actually after. Fortunately he rewards you will with 2000 gold (minus 200 gold for each mistake) and an Amulet of Verbosity (Fortify Speechcraft 20 to 30 pts for 30 secs on Self).

Includes Contributions from Cybersoft.

A Man for Marena
10 January 2003

Speak with Marena Gilnith in the Great Bazaar area who wishes to meet someone new. Agree to hear her story and she'll go on to tell the story of how she ran away to Mournhold in hopes of meeting and marrying a man of her dreams. Unfortunately, she has been unable to make very much money and has had to resort to working all the time to survive, never having a chance to meet any nice, single men. She asks you to keep an eye out of anyone that might be interested in meeting her.

On the other side of the Great Bazaar you'll meet Fons Beren who claims to get on quite well with the women, as he humbly puts it. Suggest that he meet up with Marena and return to speak with her. She seems hesitant to meet him but eventually agrees to meet up with him. Return to Fons to setup the meeting and that's that (I couldn't find any way to continue on with this). Return to Fons sometime later and he'll refuse to speak with you as he is preparing for his date.

There is another man that will be willing to meet with Marena, Goval Ralen in the Temple District. Just speak to him about woman and he'll be ready to go. If you've already setup her and Fons, however, that's all you can do. Personally I wish I had setup her with Goval. If you do set her up with Goval they will eventually get married. After the wedding (some days afterwards you can see them outside the tavern) they will give you a present (a +15 luck amulet).

You can also pair her up with Sunel Hlas, a trader who is mourning and bitter about the loss of his wife in the Great Bazaar. Mention women and marena to him and he'll agree to a date reluctantly. When you speak to Sunel after setting him up he'll tell you to leave him alone, but you should get three options to reply with. Choose the 'optomism' response and end the conversation. The two will arrange to meet at the Winged Guard and after some time both parties will return to the Bazaar. Depending on the advice you gave (or didn't give) Sunel, the date may end up horribly or very well. If you gave the 'optimism' advice you'll find Marena upstairs in his shop (guess it went well). Sunel will reward you with the Bipolar Blade.

Bipolar Blade Chop: 5-61 Slash:1-50 Trust:1-35 Condition: 4300/4300 weight: 42.0 Value: 40000 Cast when Strikes Frenzy Humanoid 30 points for 15 seconds Calm Humanhoid 30 points for 15 seconds

Includes Contributions fron Azaug, Thrummy, Safraz Sattaur, and Stygian Abyss.

Trained Rats and Scribs
18 December 2002

This isn't a quest per-se, but Rerlas Mon in the Great Bazaar will offer to sell you trained Scribs and Rats. You can purchase a Scrib for 20 gold, or a Rat for 25 and they will follow you and attack anyone who attacks you. Also, you can buy the exclusive Pack Rat for 100 gold which will also follow and fight as well as carry up to 100 lbs of equipment for you. You can increase this temporarily if you cast a strength/feather type spell on the rat. Unfortunately the rat does not seem to want to follow you if you cast any teleport spells, but it can be a useful thing if you have low strength.

I have had terrible luck with the trained rats. My first wound up with a lamppost stuck inside him (he just wriggles inconsolably at me now), and the other spent quite some time imbedded in the city wall when I moved from the Plaza to Godsreach.

Includes Contributions from Thrummy.

Rumour of a Wizard
28 November 2002

Speak to Drathas Reyas in the Great Bazaar about the latest rumours and he'll tell you of the wizard named Velas who has recently moved into the area. Apparently this wizard is supposed to try a display of power soon, but thats all you can get from Reyas. The next time you approach the Magic Shop in the Bazaar, however, Ovis Velas will appear, make a brief speech, and attack you. Oddly, he is extremely easy to defeat, leading you you believe that there's something more going on. Be sure to take the worn key from his corpse.

The key opens a manor in Godsreach where you can kill another wizard, a bit more difficult but still very easy.

Weerhat's Special Offers
24 November 2002

Ten-Tongues Weerhat in the Pawnbroker's shop in the Great Bazaar will offer you some special offers on cheap wares. Ask him why the wares are so cheap and he'll tell you that he gets them from Ahnia in the sewers. Ahnia can be found just inside the sewers in the SouthEast corner of the Great Bazaar. Mention Weerhat and she'll attack you. Kill her and you'll find an unsigned note on the ground mentioning some book. Confront Weerhat about the late Ahnia and he will confess that she also gave him some stolen book which he will pass onto you (Private Notes). The book is not dechiperable, but you do recognize the name Elbert Nermare from it.

If you haven't encountered Elbert Nermare previously, he is the enchanter working on the top floor of the Craftsman Hall in the Godsreach district. Talk to him about the stolen book and he'll glady accept it back, say it has a number of important formulaes in it. As a reward for returning the book he'll offer you a small discount on anything he sells.

The Crimson Plague
14 June 2003

The initial trigger for this quest is when you enter Gedna Relvel's tomb. Take a few steps forward, and you should see a message pop up that says that you smell something, not quite the smell of death, but of something more. That sets a trigger that allows Mehra Helas to refer you to Nerile Andaren.

Ask Mehra Helas in the Temple District and the latest rumours and she will tell you of a new disease going around. You must speak with Mehra Helas about latest rumors before the attack in the Plaza Brindisi Dorom, because afterwords when ever you ask her about latest rumors she spats out only the one line dealing with the Plaza Brindisi Dorom and that you where there. Nerile Andaren, a Temple Healer, believes that the disease has something do with rats. Nerile is in the Hall of Ministry and says that the rumours about the epidemic are greatly exaggerated but she has a job for you anyways. This is a simple delivery job with you having to deliver a Cure Disease Potion to a Geon Auline in her house in Godsreach. Auline is easily found and the potion delivered.

When you return to Nerile, however, you find the Hall of Ministry infested with 7 or so Infected Rats. Kill them all and then talk to Nerile who says that she underestimated recent events and has another favour to ask of you. This time you are to deliver another Cure Disease Potion to Athelyn Malas in the Temple Courtyard. Again, Malas is easily found just outside the temple.

Return to Nerile who has discovered that the recent illnesses are due to the Crimson Plague. The disease was supposedly erradicted in the Second Era but it has reappeared for some reason just now. Something must be done quickly as the disease spreads and acts quickly. She asks you to check into the Temple Sewers to see if you can find where the rats are coming from, and if they came into contact with anything that might infect them.

When you enter the Temple Basement you'll find Shunari Eye-Fly standing over an unconcious guard. She says that she followed you when you were previously in the Temple Sewers. Unfortunately she became sick somehow and had to knock the guard out when she exitted the sewers. She'll tell you more if you cure her. Cast a Cure Disease spell on her to continue. Shunari will then tell you about Gedna Relvel, a corpse in the tomb beneath the temple that attacked her when she went in to look for treasure. The corpse of Relvel said it was here to spread the Crimson Plague and had infected Shunari.

The Lich Relvel can be found in the area of the same name (Gedna Relvel's Tomb) found in the Temple Gardens (doors have a 100 level lock). If you've explored the area previously during the main quest, you may have discovered a curious set of stone doors in this tomb which couldn't be opened...well, they still wouldn't open for me. They should open by standing on the small stone in front of the two doors, but it didn't do anything. Those stone doors will only open after you get a journal entry when talking to Shunari Eye-Fly and getting her to tell you about the secret entrance (which should come up after you mention Gedna Relvel). The Lich will be found shortly within and is another difficult fight, mostly due to him being very magic resistant and casts very powerful spells. Kill him and loot the very unique robe from his corpse.

Return to Nerile when the Lich is dead to receive her congratulations and a new power, Grace of Almsivi (Restore Health 30 to 80 pts on Self, Restore Fatigue 60 to 100 pts of Self, Cure Common Disease on Self).

NOTE: Nerile also sells several spells with the greatly coveted Fortify Skill effect.

Gaenor
30 November 2002

Speak with Gaenor in the Temple District about the small favor he wishes to ask of you. He tells you a story of how he is down on his luck and wants you to give him 50 gold. Give him the 50 and he'll now ask for 100. 100 leads to 1000, to 10000, to one million. If you attempt to give the gold and you don't have enough he will get very upset and refuse to speak to you further. If you refuse to give him the gold it will take some convincing to make him realize that you won't give him anything, and again he'll refuse to speak with you. Similarily, if you do actually give him the one million he asks for, he'll refuse to speak with you.

If you try to kill him (perhaps you did give him a million gold to see what happens and want it back) he's an interesting fight. He fights with hand-to-hand and does almost no damage (at least to me) and is very difficult to hit (unless you have a 100+ weapon skill) and reflects a lot of magic cast at him. If you wanted to practice block and your armour skills, just attack him and watch the fun for a while (I had a few health/fatigue regeneration items which helped).

If you give him any amount of money and then leave, he'll return in about 2 days later and will attack you on sight. He is wearing a complete set of Ebony Armour and is one of the tougher fights in the game. He also has a nice +15 Luck constant effect amulet.
