Steal a Diamond
23 May 2002

Sugar-Lips Habasi in the Balmora Hall will ask you to steal a diamond from Nalcarya the Alchemist in town. Note that you don't actually have to steal it, you can buy one, or just give her one you've found. Nalcarya has several diamonds in a locked (20) chest upstairs above her bed, but be warned that if you do steal one, you probably won't be able to sell back any diamonds to Nalcarya anymore (game bug). Return to Habasi for a reward of an Exclusive Invisibility potion.

Nerano Manor Key
23 May 2002

Sugar-Lips Habasi in the Balmora Hall asks you get the key for Nerano Manor. Two people in Balmora have the key, Ondres Nerano has the key in the bottom part of the Manor (the key is for the top part), and his servant, Sovor Trandel, in the Council Club. If you kill Nerano, you fail the quest as Habasi sees no point in stealing from a dead man (not to mention the bad rep it would give). You must either pick pocket the key from either of them, or kill Sovor (note that Sovor is killed in another quest so don't feel bad if you have to). Another alternative is to bribe Sovor to get the key (cost me one 1000 gold bribe, so its not really worth it). Of course, once you have the key, there's no reason not to check out the Manor for yourself, to get the good pickings. Return to Habasi for a reward of 500 gold.

Recover Dwemer Artifacts
23 May 2002

Sugar-Lips Habasi in the Balmora Hall asks* you to recover some Dwemer artifacts stolen by Ra'Zhid who can be found in Fatleg's Drop Off in Hla Oad (South West of Balmora on the coast). If Ra'Zhid refuses to return the artifacts, you must find them somehow. The artifacts are a Dwemer goblet, bowl and tube (note that you can return and items that you find, not just the ones in Hla Oad). Speaking with Ra'Zhid leads nowhere, no matter how much you attempt to presuade him. The artifacts are in a locked (35) chest behind some crates and Ra'Zhid will likely attack if he notices you attempting to open it or taking the items. Note that to steal and pick locks without being noticed, hold down the shift key (for sneaking) while picking the lock or opening the container. If you are successful at sneaking, you won't be noticed. Obviously a high sneak skill helps a great deal. I'm not sure if you can return just any Dwemer artifacts, or just those specific three (the three items are common in Dwemer ruins). Return to Habasi for a reward of 2 Master Lockpicks, 2 Journeyman's Probe, and a Journeyman's Hammer.

Vintage Brandy
17 September 2002

Sugar-Lips Habasi in the Balmora Hall asks you to steal some Vintage Brandy from the recently deceased Ralen Hlaalo, in the Hlaalo Manor (not the Hlaalu Manor which is different). Again, any Vintage Brandy should work (not confirmed). The Hlaalo manor is across the river and has two locked entrances (35 and 40 locks). Be careful of the guard patrols when you pick the lock so you aren't noticed. Getting into the Manor is easier from the balcony (the 40 point locked door), since the guards won't notice you easily. To get on the balcony, simply jump from the staircase of the bordering guard tower. The Brandy is on the top of the in the center shelf near the body of Ralen (talk to his wife in the house to start the quest to find his killer). Return to Habasi for a reward of 1000 gold.

Includes Contributions from Giovanni Murachelli.

Free New-Shoes
29 April 2002

Sugar-Lips Habasi in the Balmora Hall asks you to free a member of the guild New-Shoes Bragor who is being held in Pelagiad. The way to do this is to blackmail a guard into letting New-Shoes free. A Medestien Ence in Pelagiad smugglers Dwemer goods and the guard Shadbak gra-Burbug takes brides from Ence. Find a Dwemer device in Ence's shops, show it to Shadbak and convince him to let New-Shows go. Once in Ence's shop, you can find the Dwemer Coherer in a small locked (50?) chest on a shelf upstairs. Confront Shadbak with the artifact just inside the Pelagiad Fort. Once he incriminates himself, force him to release New-Shoes. Return to Habasi for a reward of 1000 gold.

After confronting Shadbak go downstairs to the cells. You will find New Shoes in one of the cells awaiting the final paperwork and can speak to him through the door. He will give you his pair of new shoes (Exquisite) as they've been nothing but trouble for him.

Includes Contributions from Scumbumbo.

Secure the South Wall
23 May 2002

Sugar-Lips Habasi in the Balmora Hall asks you to find the master of security in town. All that she knows is that he/she is an Altmer (High Elf). Just about anyone in town will be able to identify the 5 or so Altmer in town: Culumaire at the Lucky Lockup, Estirdalin at the Mages Guild, Imare at the Hlaalu Council Mano, Nalcarya the Alchemist, and Hecerinde and Tyermaillin in their residences. Its a matter of some footwork to walk around and talk to each one, but you can eventually find out that Hecerinde in his house is the security master (talk to him about South Wall). He also offers training up to 100 in Security and sells the only available Secret Grandmaster Picks and Probes for opening those high end locks. Return to Habasi for a reward of, well, nothing (she mentions that she will fix any price on your head).

Anareren's Devil Tanto
19 January 2003

Aengoth the Jeweler in the Ald'ruhn Hall ask you to steal Anareren's Devil Tanto in the Ald'ruhn Mages Guild as it is apparently unguarded. Now, you'll quickly find that the guild isn't completely unguarded, as there isone guard in the entrance (you can kill him or just sneak past). The Tanto is in a small locked (65) chest downstairs to the right in the Alchemists corner on the top shelf. Return to Aengoth for a reward of, well, nothing.

Console Cheats
Give yourself the Dagger: player->AddItem, "devil_tanto_tgamg", 1

Redoran Master Helm
27 September 2002

Aengoth the Jeweler in the Ald'ruhn Hall ask you to steal a Redoran Master Helm from the Arobar Manor in the Manor District of Ald'ruhn (also known as Under-Skar). The Arobar Manor is on the Right side of the Manor District, next to the Council Hall. The Helm is in the Manor Bedrooms, (from the Entrance through the Guard Quarters, into the Private quarters, and onto the Manor Bedrooms, Left Bedroom). The helm is found on top of a closet (go into sneak mode when you take it to avoid being detected, chameleon might help as well).

There is one other Master Helm in the game, in a chest in the Llethri Manor Bedrooms in Ald'ruhn.

Return to Aengoth for a reward of 1000 gold.

Boethiah's Pillow Book
23 May 2002

Aengoth the Jeweler in the Ald'ruhn Hall ask you to steal Boethiah's Pillow Book again from the Arobar manor (from Grandosa Arobar). In fact, the book is across the hall from the bedroom where you just stole the Master Helm from (he couldn't of told you before). Its in a well locked (75) and trapped chest in a large room with a few guards and witnesses, so the theft is not easy by any rate. In case you forgot the way, go from the Entrance through the Guard Quarters, into the Private quarters, and onto the Manor Bedrooms, Right Bedroom behind the screen. Return to Aengoth for a reward of an Amulet of Far Silence and a Chameleon Ring.

Withershins
16 October 2002

Aengoth the Jeweler in the Ald'ruhn Hall ask you to steal another book, Whithershins, from Miles Gloriosus over in Maar Gan, in the Andus Tradehouse. The fastest route is to grab a Silt Strider, with the Tradehouse North of the Strider port in Maar Gan and Miles can be found in a room downstairs. The book is in a locked (70) crate by the desk (again, use sneak mode and chameleon to prevent him from attacking). The book increases your Restoration skill. There are also several other copies of the book in the game which should also work if you have found them (including the Ald'ruhn Mages Guild, across from where you get the Devil Tanto, on a shelf behind the Imperial Cult altar).

Return to Aengoth for a reward of 1000 gold.

Includes Contributions from R. Picket.

Dwemer Scrap Metal
24 September 2002

Aengoth the Jeweler in the Ald'ruhn Hall ask you to find four pieces of Dwemer Scrap Metal, found in most Dwemer Ruins he says. Any 4 will do, so if you happen to have any just hand those in. If not, the nearest ruin is Bethamez, or you can simply buy some metal at Cienne's Alchemist shop in the manor district (lower level on the left). You can also find 4 pieces at Anis Seloth: Alchemist shop in Sadrith Mora. Return to Aengoth for a reward of 1000 gold.

Includes Contributions from Kevin Milton.

Darts of Judgement
23 May 2002

Aengoth the Jeweler in the Ald'ruhn Hall ask you to steal some Darts of Judgement from Eindel in the Llethri Manor in the Manor District in Ald'ruhn. The Llethri Manor is just to the Left of the Council Chambers in the Manor District. Eindel can be found just to the right of the entrance inside the Manor, but will tell you nothing of the darts (and doesn't have them on him, time to find out where he sleeps). Eindel keeps the darts lying on his bed in the Guard Quarters (from the Entrance Hall). There are four darts on his bed and watch out for the guards when you steal them. Return to Aengoth for a reward of 2000 gold if you return the darts. He also mentions that he can remove a price on your head. This is Aengoth's last quest.

Dispel Potion Recipe
23 May 2002

Helende in the Sadrith Mora Hall ask you to steal a recipe of Dispel Magic from the alchemist Anis Seloth in town. When you get the recipe, deliver it straight to Tusemireil in the Wolverine Hall. Anis can be found on the other side of town, North of Wolverine Hall. The recipe is in a crate under a plant upstairs (where there are no witnesses fortunately). Tusemireil can be found in the Mages Guild in Wolverine Hall. Return to Helende for a reward of 500 gold.

Grandmaster's Retort
14 June 2003

Helende in the Sadrith Mora Hall ask you to steal a Grandmaster's Retort from Berwen the Trader in Tel Mora (North of Sadrith Mora, quickest route is by ship). Of course, any Grandmaster Retort will do if you happen to have any (there are a few in the world). Berwen is in the center of Tel Mora, North East of the docks if you arrived by ship. Note that you'll frin a Corprus Stalker upstairs in Berwen's shop, this is an unrelated Fighter's Guild quest. Unfortunately the retort is on the shelf in front of Berwen, so you'll have to be sneaky or just buy it if you don't want to risk getting caught.

Return to Helende for a reward of 200 gold.

Includes Contributions from Jeff.

Hire a Wizard
5 January 2003

Helende in the Sadrith Mora Hall ask you visit the Mages Guild in Wolverine Hall to hire a Wizard for defense purposes (for protection from the Camonna Tong). There are various ways to reach the guild, but I usually enter the Imperial Shrine, exit to the Wolverine Hall, go up a flight and enter the Mages Guild. Speak with Arielle Phieneel and ask to hire a wizard. Arielle will request four pieces of Raw Ebony as payment. Again, any four pieces will do, from a mine or from the basement of Anis Seloth's Alchemist shop in town (the locked chest downstairs, or just buy it since it is well guarded). Another 4 pieces can be found in an unguarded chest at the bottom of Imril's house in Ald'ruhn. Once Arielle receives the ebony she will send the Battlemage Natalinus Flavonius over to Dirty Muriel's. Return to Helende for a reward of a Dire Shardbolt Ring.

Includes Contributions from Ry Taylor.

Redoran Cooking Secrets
23 May 2002

Helende in the Sadrith Mora Hall ask you to steal the book Redoran Cooking Secrets from Dinara Othrelas at the Llethri Manor in Ald'ruhn, Manor District. The book can be found in Dinara's bedroom in the Private Quarters of the Manor (Northern most bedroom), in a locked chest (50). There's no one around so its a simple manor to steal the book. You can also receive the book by persuading Dinara to give it to you (she's near the entrance). Return to Helende for a reward of a Quality Potion of Shadow.

Felen Maryon's Staff
24 May 2002

Helende in the Sadrith Mora Hall ask you if you would like to steal the Wizard's Felen Maryon's ebony staff in Tel Branora (you can actually refuse, this is Helende's last quest for you). Since its a Telvanni tower, Helende is kind enough to provide three Quality Rising Force Potions for you to use. Tel Branora is at the far South East corner of the map and is easiest to reach by boat. Felen can be found up in Therana's Chamber accessed through the Upper Tower, East of the docks. He sells some nice conjuration spells, just about all of them in fact, so you may not wish to kill him if you can avoid it and need the spells. His staff is leaning against the bookcase behind him so anything you can do to increase your sneak effectiveness (such as chameleon) is helpful. Return to Helende for a reward of 250 gold and a Ring of Far Reaching (if you decide to keep the staff, which isn't half-bad, you don't get the gold).

Track Down Nads Tharen
24 May 2002

If you haven't run into Gentleman Jim Stacey yet, you're definitely not alone as he is an elusive character being the head of the Thieves Guild and all. Jim can be found in Simine Fralinie's Bookshop tucked away in Vivec's Foreign Quarter Canalworks, East section. To make matters further complicated, he is behind a well locked (65) door at the back of the shop. He will start giving you quests once you reach the rank of Captain or higher in the guild.

Jim's first job for you is to find a fellow guild member Nads Tharen who used to hang out at the Elven Nations Cornerclub in the Hlaalu Compound here in Vivec. If it turns out that he is dead, you are to return his key to Jim. The Hlaalu Compound is just South West of the Foreign Quarter and the Cornerclub is on the Plaza and Waistworks levels. Most people in the bar don't know anything about Nads, but Sovali Uvayn knows a few things. Evidently Arvama Rathri spoke with Nads the last time he was in here, though Sovali isn't sure where Arvama can be found (though she says Gadela might be able to help you). Though Gadela (behind the bar) won't tell you anything about Arvama, she will tell you that Nads lives in St. Delyn Canalworks, South-Two when you ask about him (you may need to persuade her a bit to get this information).

St. Delyn is just South East of the Hlaalu Canton and South-Two CanalWorks is on the bottom of the South side. Inside you'll find Nads' corpse in the middle of a wrecked home. Take his key from his corpse and anything else you might take a liking to. Return to Jim for a reward of 500 gold. Note that if you happen to 'accidently' kill Arvama, your reward in the end is doubled.

Camonna Tong Information
24 May 2002

Jim in the Vivec Hall asks you to talk with Percius Mercius in the Ald'ruhn Fighter's Guild to receive any information that will help the Thieves Guild fight the Camonna Tong (which has been taking over the Fighter's Guild lately). The quickest route is to grab a teleport from the Mages Guild in the Foreign Quarter plaza over to Ald'ruhn. Percius will talk to you (help us fight) if his disposition is high enough (around 70).

Percius used to be the guildmaster of the guild before the Camonna moved in. Hrundi in Sadrith Mora used to be his second in command and is a good man and he might be persuaded to help the Thieves Guild. If not, you can blackmail him if you find his Dunmer lover. Eydis Fire-Eye in Balmora used to be a good fighter but she's become a worshipper of Clavicus Vile and Percius is sure she can't be blackmailed. The new guildmaster, Sjoring Hard-Heart is too far in debt with the Camonna Tong to pull out and he'll probably have to be killed.

Return to Jim for a reward of 500 gold.

Bitter Cup
23 January 2003

Jim in the Vivec Hall asks you to persuade Eydis Fire-Eye in Balmora to join the Thieves Guild cause against the Camonna Tong. He suggests to that Eydis might betray the Camonna Tong if you offer her the Bitter Cup, a sacred artifact to the followers of Clavicus Vile. The artifact can be found in the ruins of Ald Reydania, in the islands to the far North (if should be marked on your map). The fun begins as soon as you arrive at the ruins as it is guarded by two Skeletal Archers. Once inside, you can quickly find the Cup upstairs, guarded by a powerful Skeletal War-Wizard. Note that when you pick up the Cup you can choose to drink from it, causing it to disappear forever but add 20 to your best attribute, and subtract 20 from your worst (you will not be able to finish the quest if you do though).

Offer the Cup to Eydis in the Balmora Fighters Guild to get her to pledge alliegence to the Thieves Guild. Note that if you wish to keep and use the cup yourself, you can just kill Eydis and still complete the quest successfully.

Includes Contributions from Reed.

Persuade Hrundi
24 May 2002

Jim in the Vivec Hall asks you to persuade Hrundi in Sadrith Mora to join the Thieves Guild cause against the Camonna Tong. He suggests to find Hrundi's Dunmer lover in order to pressure him into joining. Speaking with just about anyone in Sadrith Mora will tell you that Hrundi usually hangs out at Fara's Hole in the Wall (North of Wolverine Hall on the other side of town). From Fara behind the bar (and perhaps others in the bar) you'll quickly find that Hrundi's woman is Falena Hlaren (who is in the bar nearby). Speak with Hrundi in the Fighters Guild once you find Falena and get him to 'join our cause'. Return to Jim for his congratulations.

Kill Navil and Ranes Ienith
24 May 2002

Once you reach the rank of Mastermind, Jim Stacey in the Vivec Hall asks you kill two of the Camonna Tong's best enforcers, Navil and Ranes Ienith at the Dren Plantation (ask him about it to be marked on your map, North of Vivec). Navil can be found downstairs in Dren's Villa behind two locked (60) and trapped doors. Be very careful when you decide to attack for as soon as you do, Ranes will appear behind you. The two are a tough bunch especially with their magic blades (one that Paralyzes and one that Poisons). Return to Jim once they are dead for a reward of a Ring of Shadow Form.

Kill Hard-Heart
24 May 2002

Jim Stacey in the Vivec Hall asks you kill Hard-Heart in the Vivec Fighters Guild to remove the influence of the Camonna Tong from the guild. Once the job is done, return to Jim for the reward of the Skeletons Key (50 Uses, Weight 0.5, Quality 5.00, should open every lock in the game) as well as being promoted to Master Thief (Jim may disappear after this so be sure you do all the Bal Molagmer quests first)!

Bal Molagmer: Return Hlervu Locket
24 May 2002

When you speak to Gentleman Jim Stacey in the Vivec Hall about Bal Molagmer, he will tell you the legend of the 'Stone Fire Men' (assuming you've reached the rank of Wet Ear or higher in the guild). The Bal Molagmer were thieves that stole from the unjust and gave to those in need (much like a Robin Hood of sorts). They vanished early in the Third Era and have not been seen since. Jim believes it is time for the Bal Molagmer to return (to possibly help the bad repuation of the Thieves Guild) and gives you two gauntlets as a symbol. Put the gauntlets on and speak to Jim again to receive the first Bal Molagmer quest (the gloves are non-magical but are a trendy black).

The first quest in this series is to return a Hlervu Locket to Braynas Hlervu, a poor, retired egg miner who gave his family's treasured locket to pay his taxes this year. The locket is now in Venim Manor in the Ald'ruhn Manor District, with the rest of the taxes. Find the locket and return it to Hlervu in the name of Bal Molagmer. The locket can be found in the guard wing of the Venim Manor (there's lots of them in the locked chests in the various rooms), though you can probably return just any Hlervu Locket if you happen to have any. Braynas Hlervu can be found outside his house at the East end of Ald'ruhn. Be sure that when you return it, you do so in the name of Bal Molagmer. Return to Jim for his congratulations.

Bal Molagmer: Yngling Half-Troll
25 November 2002

For second quest in this series, Jim asks you to find proof of Yngling Half-Troll's corruption by finding and returning a ledger in the Yngling Manor (Vivec, St. Olms Plaza). The ledger can be found downstairs by the game rats (the basement door is locked (75) and watch out for the guard at the top). Return the ledger to Jim for his congratulations.

After you steal the ledger from the basement you can go upstairs and talk to Yngling about the ledger (use the term "corruption." He will then demand you give him the ledger, and if you choose not to you can fight him. If you kill him you get a glass dagger with paralyze for ten seconds on it. Also he has the key to the basement on him.

Includes Contributions from BrightBlade.

Bal Molagmer: Forged Land Deal
29 December 2002

For third quest in this series, Jim asks you to stop Velanda Omani from stealing Indrele Rathryon's land via a forged land deal placed in the Library of Vivec. You must steal the deed from the library and return it to Indrele in Seyda Neen. The Library can be found in the Halls of Wisdom in the Temple Canton in the South of Vivec. The deed is half hidden on the bottom shelf in the North end of the library (watch out for the guards). Travel to Seyda Need (the starting town) and find Indrele behind her shack in the West of town. Return the deed to her and return to Jim in Vivec for his congratulations.

Console Cheat to Give yourself the land deed:

player->AddItem, "bk_indreledeed", 1

Bal Molagmer: Blade of Enamor
24 May 2002

For forth quest in this series, Jim asks you to return the blade Enamor which was wrongfully stolen from Salyn Sarethi. The blade was a gift from Vivec himself and the guild does not want to be blamed for its theft. Return the blade and a note to Salyn Sarethi's chest in the Tower of Dusk in Ghostgate. The Ghostgate, if you haven't travelled to it yet, is in the center of the island and roughly North East from Caldera (South East from Ald'ruhn, position 20500, 38600, 1500). Salyn can be found in the Lower Levels of the Tower and his unlocked chest is nearby (it is labelled as his chest, so there's no confusion). Return to Jim in Vivec for his congratulations.

Bal Molagmer: Brallion's Ring
24 September 2002

For fifth quest in this series, Jim asks you to steal Brallion's Ring (from Brallion no less, a right slave trader) and give it to Ilmeni Dren, a secret abolitionist. Brallion can be found in Sadrith Mora's Great Market and Ilmeni can be found here in Vivec, St. Delyns Canalworks, South-One. Brallion can be found downstairs in Fara's Hole in the Wall in Sadrith Mora (he's normally found outside of a Alchemists shop if you're not doing the quest). You can either buy the ring from him or steal it (if you kill him, you cannot complete the quest). Once you have the ring, return it to Ilmeni in the name of the Bal Molagmer.

Return to Jim in Vivec for his congratulations.

I beleive you actually can kill Brallion and complete the quest. I bought the ring from him, but because of the outrageous price I tried picking his pocket for the money back. I got caught, he picked a fight and I killed him. So I had already completed the transaction, got my money back and got a ring of Shades, which ended up being the best thing about the quest.

Includes Contributions from Rich.

Bal Molagmer: Helvi's History Books
29 December 2002

For sixth quest in this series, Jim asks you to steal all four volumes of A Brief History of the Empire from Odral Helvi in Caldera and donate them to Vala Catraso in the Mages Guild in Ald'ruhn. Helvi can be found upstairs in the Governer's Hall in Caldera. The four books are found in the room next door in the locked (65) chest next to the bed. Grab a teleport over to Ald'ruhn and donate the books to Vala in the name of the Bal Molagmer.

Return to Jim in Vivec for his congratulations.

Bal Molagmer: Dwemer Goblet

For sevent (and last) quest in this series, Jim asks you to steal a Dwemer Goblet in Berel Sala's office in the Hall of Justice (Vivec, Temple Canton). Once you have the goblet, donate it to Danso Indules who is outside near the High Fane. Sala can be found in one of the Justice Offices, and has the Dwemer Goblet on the desk in front of him (rather a challenge I must say). Indules should be found in the tunnel outside in the center of the Temple District and once again, give the Goblet to her in the name of the Bal Molagmer. Return to Jim in Vivec for his congratulations.
