i enjoyed it a lot, the series now has a purpose :-)

it also explains why, despite the doc previously having destroyed all daleks forever , they still popped up every incarnation at least once lol

^what he said.

Also, has anyone else seen An Adventure in Space and Time? I watched it today, I have to admit- it was really moving actually.

Very nice episode, and the 3D was great!

Makes me want to watch the original series now.

i wonder if doc Hurt will now be inundated with sonic screwdriver calculation requests from future doctors now?

and how many can it cope with at a time?

I think that's something that will only work on an anniversary episode, when you have a younger and older Doctor together at the same time.

John Hurt is the new front-runner for my favourite Doctor now, overtaking McCoy and Smith. Controversial, choices, I know... I will admit that Smith's Doctor can push the manic/nutty thing a bit far, but I always figured it was the rather forced, strained jollity of someone who doesn't want to let their mind settle on something. The mental equivalent of fidgeting about because your feet hurt or you need the toilet.
I'm looking forward to an older Doctor after christmas, though. Back to the glory days of Hartnell and Pertwee, eh?
I just wish we had the chance to see more of the War Doctor; tired, haggard, shell-shocked and yet witty and sharp as a tack. That's a man whose life is worth seeing. Also, he has the best catchphrase:

Gallifrey stands!

Yeah, they did just skip over what happened at the end of the last series. They acted like it would have huge impact but then it didn't.

"A bit of a mess" could describe a lot of Doctor Who continuity new and old. Although Moffat's hole in time everyone forgets Aliens thing in series 5 wasn't that bad of an idea, because otherwise you would have to question how anyone could be stupid enough to not believe in Aliens after everything that has happened. Of course they also could have continued with a world that knows they aren't alone. There also haven't been much references to big things in Torchwood like nobody dying for months but whatever. I'm fine with the 50th

I found the whole anniversary episode to be underwhelming. Sure, they're supposedly dealing with enormous things but it never felt like it.

I would be fine with a non-white and/or non-male Doctor. To me it doesn't matter what race or sex the Doctor is. But the best argument I've heard against female is that Moffat isn't very good at writing female characters. Not sure why he's so bad, it's basically the same as writing male characters.

Probably because he's a sexist guy who completely fails to see that he's sexist. I really hope they kick him off the show as soon as possible..

I did like Amy but hopefully we'll never see River again.

I wish he would stop with the: "People think they're gay. But they're not gay! Uh, not that there's anything wrong with that." jokes on Doctor Who and Sherlock already. He's done tonnes of them and they're more awkward than anything else.

They should have the Doctor and a male companion.

Rory and Jack are two of my favourite companions. I liked Rory more than Amy but as said, I liked them both together.

I thought in the Christmas special that Clara would be a companion who wasn't from modern earth but alas, it was not to be.

With New Years coming up you could watch a New Years themed Doctor Who Adventure. The TV Movie. It isn't very good, but McGann is great in it. McCoy is good too, for the part he is in it.
