A place to discuss and ask questions about the third part of The Elder Scrolls series and its expansions

Hello, I'm coming back here to ask about the possible deletion of journal entries in Morrowind.
I'm trying to do so as I wanted to uninstall a mod after doing a few quests it contained, and I'd like to remove the entries it added to my journal in the meantime; while I could revert to an older save to avoid that trouble, I'd prefer to only do so as a last resort, as it would bring be back by a few in-game days and thus get a good amount of progress lost.
In essence, is there a safe and feasible way of erasing journal entries? What kind of savegame-editing might be necessary? Or is it plain and simple impossible to do so?
Thanks in advance for any future answers to this question.

Do the journal entries persist even when you remove the related mod? Never heard of that before.

Isn't journal just a html file in main game folder?

Unfortunately, the entries persist even after removing the mod, which is why it feels annoying to me.
Altering the Journal.htm file with Word or the notepad to remove the entries doesn't have the desired effect: the entries are apparently part of the saved game, and will still be present when loading the game, whether through the save made just before removing the mod of through a separate one made just after deleting it.

A quick Google search turns up nothing positive. Seems you're out of luck.

Well, then. Guess I'll have to go back to an earlier save and don't get too lost, but thanks for trying to help.
Edit: While I still couldn't find a way to directly edit the journal in-game, I was able to recover an older save without too much loss of progress. Thanks anyway for trying to help.
