How to Resurrect the Dead Player

Tue Jul 02, 2013 9:52 pm

I installed a mod that automatically saves my game (so that if I die, I can reload without having to worry about saving) but the game happened to save *right* the second my character died. Since the mod saves by using Quicksave, that's the only save I have for that character besides one from a long time ago, around when I first created my character. So whenever I load my most recent save it just shows my character die again... and again... and again.

I need to find a way to 'resurrect' my character with the console but unfortunately I have no idea how to use the Morrowind console, besides the fact that it's used differently from the console used in Oblivion or Skyrim.
Is there any way I can recover my character or do I have to start a new game?

Thanks,
-G

Edit:

I actually found a more recent save in my backups folder, so I can continue from there with no problems.

But somebody else may have the same problem and have no backups, or something, so answers are still welcome.

You could try opening the console and typing in "player->resurrect" (without the quotation marks). This might not work though, as it may cause problems (like resetting the spellbook). It's worth a try though.

It also depends on the situation your character is in. If you're about to die, but the killing blow hasn't quite been struck, you could always use coc to get the hell out of there.
