I think the reason for leveling while just standing there is because of the enemies around you. I have done the same thing, but not that long. Your skill is rising because your hiding for the enemies ( I guess)

Possible Spoilers So I am in Labyrinthia and there are some evemies who are constantly red I have been crouched in a doorway for about 10 minutes, hands of the controller and my sneak has leveled up 4 times! I started at a 57 and I just got 61. Anybody else getting sneak credit while just crouching? |

Yeah same here. But for me it only seems to work if they are actively looking for you. Not sure how the system works. |

Oh yeah, sneak is certainly the easiest skill to level up! I had to stop sneaking a bit because it was causing my character to raise level too soon! My sneak would be 45-50 and my combat skills 25-30, meaning I became a bit weak for my higher level character. |
