I don't really know.
The xbox store just said 'Get' but there was also an option to buy, so I don't really understand the process.
Clicking Get downloads it and that's it; it basically seems like you get the whole game but that doesn't seem to make sense. *shrug*

Oh, how confusing. So you'll just play it until you can't anymore?

Yep! Lol
Though that will be soon - this week in fact, because I will only have the xbox one till then (was a borrow).
I'm not sure, if you get another xbox at a later date, if all your previously downloaded games (free ones) will still be linked to your account, and then you can re-install them, or if they'll just be gone.

Have fun, Aarah! I'm still playing Fallout 4 so it might be a while before I download that Bruma mod. You'll have to let us know how it goes. :)

I can't imagine it being available for PS4 since there are no external assets, but I have no idea how that works.

Thanks, Dohva!
Fallout 4 always sounds like fun, I may have to try it someday.

Yep! Hopefully I can try out Bruma. I'm currently in negotiations over the xbox, so Bruma is teasing at the moment.

@DB. Good luck with getting your hands on some PS4 mods.

@aarah have fun with Bruma! The only mod worthwhile on the PS4 is Friendly Brynjolf. Nice to not hear Sorry Lass on a loop + I got to marry him.

I'm a curse.

Post subject:  Re: Skyrim General Discussion

Do not blame thyself, DB. It was not a curse to lose Skyrim, it was a blessing to receive it!

@Cass
Nevermind. I probably would have squandered the experience by just plodding round for a bit anyway, then not done anything. Gee, don't I sound exciting.

Post subject:  Re: Skyrim General Discussion

But plodding round for a bit sounds like a lot of fun! I like just exploring every once and a while. It's no fun if you spend the entire time rushing to get quests done.

That's why I never fast travel. Rushing quests really isn't fun

Post subject:  Re: Skyrim General Discussion

Yeah, quests shouldn't be a chore.

I like to travel 'manually' too, though if I've been travelling a few times, I can get bored and can't be arsed to spend time walking/riding.
Like Markarth to Winterhold...nah.

Post subject:  Re: Skyrim General Discussion

Early game I might just travel on foot, bc obviously exploring the map and finding easy loot is always good, but as far as major cities I just take a wagon first time around so that I at least have the option to fast travel

But ya, rushing through quests is never fun or advised. Maybe radiant quests, bc who cares. But actual quests? I just make a checklist on which ones I need to address in order, and how best to get them done(i.e if two are related to the same dungeon).. But mostly, if we're talking skyrim. Early game is just me going around finding gear that basically will last till mid-game. Scale armor? Scimitar? Some enchanted goods? Oh, and not [&@%!] with dragons bc I ain't got time to deal with them yet

Post subject:  Re: Skyrim General Discussion

I generally fast travel when doing quests, 'cause it's easier and if I'm doing a quest then I'm doing a quest. But I'm a fan of strolling 'round the wilderness every once and awhile just for fun.

Oh, you're so organized. My version of playing is more like, " let's just go over here because I feel like it", and "this quest seems like a good time, why don't I do that".

I count carriages almost the same as fast travel. If the carriage travelled in real time, like in Red Dead Redemption, then fine, but anything that skips over time, I class as fast travel.

I agree but with the mod that makes carriages expensive, you try to avoid using them as much as possible. Only if I need to get from Markarth to Riften or something.

You know, you could just not use the fast travel system, right? I never understood why people want it to be deliberately removed. In fact, Morrowind is the outlier, in terms of no easy fast travel.

Post subject:  Re: Skyrim General Discussion

Fast travel, by all means, is a luxury. You don need it >_> but you sure as hell miss it when it's gone.

By early and even mid-game, fast travel can be seen as a joy kill. Your suppose to explore, discover, all that fun stuff. Sure, maybe walking half the map for one simple task isn't necessary, travel.as you like, but to skip to all major destinations and dungeon as if you have no time for anything else? Bah!

But take that to late game.. Where basically everything is done, discovered, and if your actively searching for quests they are few and far between.. Literally. By that point, it doesn't matter if you teleport around, why? Bc you already experienced that spot for the 50th time. Maybe unless you want a challenge or serious about RPing, having that luxury of convenience is a godsend

And speaking of this whole subject. As much I enjoy morrowind, with merits and flaws alike, I honestly could say that I'll go down on my knees and pray for a fast travel some times.. I like how important and interconnected the few means of travel are(i.e boat, magic, giant bug, ect).. There are some major destinations or settlements that are either too remote... Or will take twice as many transports as it needs to be. Realistic? Sure, maybe, but it doesn't change how damn annoying it is to have to wall through hostile land every single time I wanted to say hello to my favorite wizard. I honestly would be happier if major destinations had quick fast travel.. Where as anything else I had to pay for a fee or was relatively close or less important(i.e dungeons)

Post subject:  Re: Skyrim General Discussion

I'm certainly not against fast travel; I just try to use it sparingly rather than relying on it.

On the other hand, in ESO I use the wayshrines as much as possible.

As far as Morrowind, there's always Mark and Recall-- but it would have been nice if those had been tied to level somehow, such as

Mysticism 0 - 24: You can Mark 1 location and Recall to it.
Mysticism 25 - 49: You can Mark 2 locations and choose which one you want to Recall to.
Mysticism 50 - 74: You can Mark 3 locations.
Mysticism 75 - 99: You can Mark 4 locations.
Mysticism 100: You can Mark 5 locations.

Post subject:  Re: Skyrim General Discussion

I always mark my player home(yes, the same one with the stuffed corpse and merchant mudcrab, don't ask) so that option is only viable if you have one destination you regularly return to. At least in that case, the settlement has the local mages guild and bug-man for convenient transport

But speaking strictly Skyrim, it would be nice if base spells further improved and augmented themselves depending on level. I'm not talking perks, bc really, I prefer the more passive approach Oblivion had.. No l, I'm talking noticeable differences on a singular spell(in addition to your standard tier spell)

Like, how cool would it be for that basic flame to only get stronger, better, and cooler over time. Like, at base level, nothing special. Master? Hold it long enough and the flame turns to a golden blaze with a high intensity, signifying it's higher heat and overall strength. Might actually solve the problem with lacking variants/options that skyrim left(i.e simplified spell mechanic, among other things)

Post subject:  Re: Skyrim General Discussion

I don't use any of that stuff. In Morrowind I just wing it, I've never attempted to use Mysticism in Morrowind despite playing a mage. It's all too complicated.

I get you, even in Skyrim I'd always stick to one particular element (usually lightning since half the population is immune to frost) instead of shooting fireballs and ice spikes at the same time so that sounds perfect for a play-style like mine.

But the master destruction spells were absolutely disappointing. They were a pain to cast and the pay off wasn't even that great. I'd much rather have a basic spell improve as I master it.
