Looking for "better" Daggerfall experience....?

Tue Jul 05, 2016 5:06 am

My goodness I love Daggerfall to the very core, but every sword [of the same quality] in the game looks exactly the same in your hand. I was looking around and found nothing for the plain-jane DOS version. I was hoping someone somewhere had done this. I don't want better graphics, just to make the game "feel" more realistic. I can't complain about the dagger, it's completely perfect the way it is. But do you really always hold the sword handle beside your shoulder....
Implementing this would indeed be a challenge to build and/or [even more] install. I don't want a remake of the game with better graphics (as done with other game engines to an extent). Considering my home PC's max performance (HP Pavilion xt963.....you can easily find max ram on this poor thing), but if the game is larger in physical size by much I would not complain much about that.

I don't hope to sound like a rag, but would be really neat to find.
Thankyou for finding time to read this post. :)

You could try playing unity version of the game, i has better graphics, however i think that even that version didn't include any new sprites, so you will be stuck with same sword look. If you don't want to install unity version you can always change the look of your sword simply by making it magic item, i do that in mages guild, but i heard that certain temples have that option too, tho you might have to read some info on that first.

I didn't know the magic class of swords changed the look, thankyou. I'll definitely look into it. If I make the items magic, how do I repair them? The blacksmiths won't except them and the blacksmith in the mages guild temples only "make" magic items.

Thankyou for taking the time to read this.
