IF YOU ARE HAVING ANY PROBLEMS AT ALL: SWITCH TO THE RECOMMENDED DOWNLOAD LINK INSTEAD OF THE BETHESDA VERSION: IT WILL MOST LIKELY FIX YOUR PROBLEMS. IF YOU STILL HAVE PROBLEMS AFTER THIS, POST BELOW AND I WILL UPDATE IT

*POST ANY BUG Q AND A YOU NEED HELP WITH BELOW, I WILL UPDATE IT HERE*

1. Playing as a mage can be challenging without experience, I would recommend starting off as a warrior
2. Make a custom class, there are much more options, here is a great video of how to make a great class, tweak it to your preference: /watch?v=GZ7T14jNGEQ
3. Answer the second set of questions, it's not like the first set. You will get to choose items and what you want skill in. Grab the Dai-Katana when it gives you the option, then use it to get out of the starting dungeon
4. Choose 1 or 2 weapons and stick with them, don't try to use a huge variety or you will not do well.
5. SAVE EXTREMELY FREQUENTLY
6. Pick up all loot in the starter dungeon wherever you can find it

After you get out, it is completely up to you. You could join a guild, do the main quest, or just explore. There are some things to know though

There are TWO maps.
One will let you see buildings, shops, guilds, and taverns in the area. You can use this when you are in a city/town. Press M for this.
The second map is the travel map, this will bring up the area you can go to, you will start in the red flashing area called daggerfall. Click there, then press find. Now you can choose a city to go to, I recommend going to Daggerfall, the capital city of the region of Daggerfall. Another city that is good is Longtry Field.

Once you get out of that starting dungeon, you are going to want to find a shop in the city you went to. To do this, walk around town, clicking on people and asking them where shops are. You will want to go to different shops depending on what you got, but for just general selling, go to an armorer, pawn shop, or general store. They will either no nothing or point you in a direction.
Keep following the direction and asking people until one marks the shop on your map. Now go to your map, and you should see a building that has words over it and is colored orange. Go here. When you press on the shelves in a store you can buy things, when you talk to the shop owner, you can sell things.
Taverns are important because if you try to sleep in the city, guards will come after you. Taverns are green on your minimap. You could find them on your map, or ask civilians where one is. Once inside, you can buy a room for a certain amount of days, then rest there whenever you want too. You don't need to go to a bed, just go inside, press your rest button, and it will teleport you to a bed when you are done resting.

You will probably want to do some quests at this point to get some money and or loot. Here is how to get quests:

Random people:
Easy
Shop/Tavern owners will sometimes give you quests if you choose the talk option with them. These quests are usually easy and to find which owners will give you them just ask around town for where you can find work.

Kings:
Easy-Medium
If you go to the palace in any town, the kings there will almost always give you quests to do.

Letters:
If you receive a letter from a courier, read it. It's probably the start to the main quest-line, or to a different quest. If you wait for a few days you should receive the main quest-line letter if you want to do that. Some guilds also start like this.

Guilds are a great way to advance and do quests, here they are:

Knights Order:
Medium - Hard
These quests mostly involve dungeon crawling, and can get maze-like and challenging for new players. If you are good at and like dungeon quests though, this is for you.

Fighters guild:
Easy - Hard
This is more of a gradual incline, the quests you start out doing are not too hard, and as you go on they get harder and involve more complex elements.

Mages Guild:
Easy - Hard
Some quests here are easy, some are hard. You might want to decline the hard ones and try to find an easy one to start out with.

Thieves Guild:
Easy - Medium
Quests here are different and not very challenging for the most part, good guild for new players.

The Dark Brotherhood:
Medium - Hard
Video guide to get into the guild: /watch?v=BMMgjvgAVUE
A lot of the starting quests here are very hard, most involving dungeons that can get very confusing. If you like and are good at dungeons then this would be a good guild, but it will be a challenge.

Temples:
Easy - Hard
There are 8 temples, they all have general quests, then each temple has it's own specific quests. Quests range from variety too difficulty.
