In DOSBox your system specs mean a lot to how it runs. If you're getting break ups in the sounds turn down the cpu cycles by presing CTRL+F11, to speed them up press CTRL+F12. That way you can get a balance, also try turning down the detail by moving the detail slider in the esc screen to the left.
