Getting more loot

Mon Aug 28, 2017 9:17 pm

Now that I've discovered this, I've given up on trying to carry around any extra loot-- unless it's magical.

If you break into a house that has loot on one of the floors, you can increase the amount of gold and number of items in the pile of loot by going up and down the stairs repeatedly. Each time you enter the level where the loot is, additional gold and/or items are added to the existing pile of loot. There seems to be a max, because once I made 50 trips up and down the stairs, only to discover that the expected pile of loot wasn't there at all. I'm not sure what the max is, but IIRC it does work with 20 trips up and down the stairs. This is a handy way to get more gold, as well as magical items such as marks, torcs, rings, amulets, belts, etc. And you can get a lot more gold by selling off magical items than non-magical items, so there's no reason to pick up anything non-magical unless it's better than what you already have.
