Daggerfall Custom Class
19 February 2011
A couple of days ago, I had the urge to create a character class
modelled on the type of guy who rescues damsels from high towers and
took on impossible quests with an idiot's innocense. Furthermore,
this guy would be totally unable to wield any magic himself. He would
have to rely on potions and magic items. This class is meant as just a
bit of fun, although it seems to be emminently playable, at least through
the lower levels.
Custom Class - The Errant Knight
Class Advantages
- Immunity to magica
- What you don't know can't hurt you, right?
- Rapid Healing Dark
- Regeneration General
- This guy has the constitution of an elephant.
- Athleticism
- He's been doing nothing but training all his life.
- Expertise in Long Blade
- Its like an extension if his arm.
Class Disadvantages
- Inability to Regen Spells
- Light Powered Magery - Unable
- Dark Powered Magery - Unable
- These 3 disadvantages rule him out of using any kind of magic ever.
- Forbidden Armour - Leather
- Whoever saw a knight in shining leather?
- Forbidden Weaponry - Axe
- Forbidden Weaponry - Blunt Weapon
- Forbidden Weaponry - Short Blade
- Real heroes use swords. The bigger and nastier the better.
HP per level: 20
This combination sees the dagger at just over the half way mark.
Statistics
- STR +10 (You NEVER get weedy knights...)
- END +10 (All that plate armour takes it out of you)
- AGI +8 (Runs around like spring chicken)
- SPD +8 (In this game you're either quick or dead)
- LUC +4 (Heroes are always jammy gets)
- INT -17 (You don't have to be stupid to risk your life for some posh tart, but it sure helps)
- WIL -16 (This guy relies on luck)
- PERS -7 (Although your average dragonslayer is handsome, his interminable stories get really
boring after the 23rd or 24th time you've heard them)
Skills
Primary
- Long Blade (Never use anything else)
- Dodging (My famous body swerve)
- Running (How else is he supposed to climb to the top of the tower and rescue the princess? All those
steps really tones you up)
Major
- Archery (What else are you supposed to do in your spare time? Skewer a few peasants)
- Critical Hit (When 15 guards are hitting on you at once, you've got to thin them out a bit sharpish)
- Climbing (Useful for getting to those tricky top-of-the-tower windows)
Minor
- Jumping (Gotta get across those dungeon pits)
- Medical (He gets injured so often....)
- Mercantile (Need a good price for all that loot)
- Stealth (Gotta go quietly past those guards...)
- Etiquette (Although not necessarily of privileged class himself, he's gotta hob-nob with the gentry)
- Swimming (Need to cross those moats somehow...)
