Hiding the Skyrim UI/Image Upload[edit]

Hello. If you know of a way to hide the Skyrim UI on the PC version I am very much interested. I know you can hide the UI on some other games but have never known how to do it for screenshots or video recording on Skyrim for the PC. So I'm definitely interested if you know how. But since I managed to get a screenshot of From-Deepest-Fathoms I was simply attempting to help out is all. The article had the request up for a ghostly form of the NPC for quite some time, I simply provided what I had in my screenshots. In fact, I have all the ghostly forms and the screenshots of the NPC corpses from Avanchnzel. Nyrva (talk) 14:41, 15 June 2017 (UTC)

Open the console, and then it should be just a matter of using the tm command. For additional commands that are useful in taking screenshots, see this page. Robin Hood  (talk) 16:15, 15 June 2017 (UTC)

Seriously? What a bunch of ingrates![edit]

So you're balking about the aspect ratio when that's how the screenshot comes, and you're balking about removing UI elements when Skyrim has no option to hide that stuff. So just take it down. You don't need it then. Not everything in life is perfect.

"To meet our site's higher standard of quality, this file may need to be replaced. The user who placed this here had the following concern(s): • Image contains UI elements • Aspect ratio should be 1:1 To leave a message about the cleanup for this article, please add it to this article's talk page"

Go get the thing yourself then. — Unsigned comment by Nyrva (talkcontribs) at 18:25 on 15 June 2017‎ (UTC)

If you look at just about every image taken for the site outside ESO then you can see that removing the UI on the PC is a trivial matter (and explained in the link in the section above). Cropping an image can be done using Microsoft paint, and enforcing certain standards is important for keeping presentation clean and user-friendly. Your image is appreciated, if it was not it would be deleted, but it can be better. Your input as a photographer is very valuable as prolific and quality image takers are hard to come by. There is no offense meant by desiring the best quality available, especially as any image is almost always better than none, and is more likely to spur someone to take it than having none at all. On the article for "From-Deepest-Fathoms" it has been on there for a very long time that the article could benefit from the NPC's "ghostly form". Since I had a screenshot of it, I thought I would help out and contribute it. But it got nitpicked to death and I saw that well, "Oh, this may need to be replaced". It just made me feel sorry I even tried. So you'll just need to wait then for someone who is better than this at me to provide the image. Nyrva (talk) 22:54, 15 June 2017 (UTC)
In the above replies you can clearly see two points being made: 1. All contributions are appreciated 2. Standards apply, for all edits.
We even have editors who tag their own images if they for some reason upload one that needs to be improved. Taking standardizing personally is just unnecessary. Read the above replies, nobody wishes you anything bad. Tib (talk) 23:31, 15 June 2017 (UTC)

() For reasons of posterity I am going to reply to both posts you have made and quickly removed without explanation. The image was renamed. At no time was the image ever proposed for deletion, nor has it ever been deleted. The page you uploaded it at before it was moved is gone, but you still have credit on the image (see your contributions log). You may not appreciate that sites maintain standards for their users and editors, but we do not appreciate continued unfounded accusations of close-mindedness and spitefulness, particularly when time has been taken to explain exactly how you can improve the image with the most basic of tools available.

Most new users take time to learn the standards of a site, and we welcome all new contributors with open arms and an understanding that you won't know our standards immediately. We have quite a comprehensive page on taking images for the site, linked above but also here now, Help:Images. If you truly have no desire to contribute to the wiki again, I would have to ask that you take that as refraining from both helpful and unhelpful posts (even after you remove your posts they can still be seen on the log and must be marked by a patroller). I received an email today that the image was deleted. But I removed my post today after posting, if you must know because I decided after the fact it's not worth it. I just won't be contributing any more images because I see what will happen now if I do. I am going to focus my efforts where they will be more constructive and appreciated. For the longest time, the article about the character said that it could benefit from a ghost-image of the character. Since I was going through the instance I tried to get a screenshot for the article and upload it, it's really just that simple. I'm sorry if it doesn't meet your standards. I know better than to try next time. Keep your self-righteous opinions to yourself, nobody asked you, and the fact you still responded to my comment even after I deleted it shows your apparent lack of character. There is no need for you or anyone else to respond to this. I am not going to be contributing anything further to this site. There are other sites where my efforts and time put into them are much more constructive and appreciated. (You wouldn't have THIS reply if you didn't feel the need to respond to a message I deleted.)
