Welcome[edit]

Hello James Wildspell! Welcome to the wiki. I hope you enjoy using the site and find the information on it useful. If you decide you want to help improve any of our pages, we're always welcoming to new editors so feel free. You might want to look at our Getting Started page for some tips on how to begin, then play in our Sandbox for a while to practice. If you need any help or advice, please ask one of our mentors. Enjoy! –RpehTCE 02:51, 22 January 2008 (EST)

Hello. I've noticed you've played a comment on my talk page. Glad you're wishing to help on Daggerfall. Currently, I'd say the pages Daggerfall:Guilds_and_Reputation and Daggerfall:Witch_Covens need the most help. These conflict with the style guide. I want Witch Covens to be a subsection on the Daggerfall:Factions page sometime. I'll get around to it soon, but with some help, it might get done faster. Guilds and Reputations needs to be scaled down. My addition of the Factions page takes care of the guilds. If you know about Reputation you could try cleaning it up. However, it does need to be have information about crimes and their fines. There is a list of all crimes in a book (I don't know which one), but I don't know the fines for them. If you need any help, message me on my talk page and I'll get back to you. Also, sign your comments (on talk pages) with 2 -'s and 4 ~'s (the second button from the last above the edit box does it too. That way I don't have to look in the history to see who did it (or to get a link to your page). Anyway, welcome. PS: UESPWiki:IRC. Go there and see if you can get in the room. Nice people roam there. --Timmeh Talk 18:46, 22 January 2008 (EST)

Is this what you mean by signing? --James Wildspell 04:02, 23 January 2008 (EST) I see the result, and am guessing it is. --James Wildspell 04:03, 23 January 2008 (EST)

Looks good to me! You may also want to check out the Quick Editing Guide for help with layout out comments. –RpehTCE 04:13, 23 January 2008 (EST)

You totally rock![edit]

I saw what you did at Daggerfall:Magic and Spells, and want to say that your edit is wonderful. That's just the sort we need. The biggest issue we've had with fixing up the Daggerfall pages is that none of us know much about it. So, if you can jive the info there with the Style Guide, you're aces in my book! Any questions, I'm here. Somercy 10:32, 23 January 2008 (EST)

Thank You[edit]

Those first couple of entries were very easy. I think that the others will be a bit more challenging to address the same issues, while simultaneously improving both content and language. So I guess that I will be back tonight to do some more.

As an eye-opener, the admission that there is only a limited understanding of Daggerfall here works quite well. I hope that I can help. I may also be able to recruit some help; Dr. Memory comes to mind. --James Wildspell 12:04, 23 January 2008 (EST)

You're surprised by that? How about this--I only own Morrowind, and haven't even played that in months! But I edit speeling and grammer (intentional, both) as best I can. "I do my best to do my part," if you know what I mean...So, do what you can. If you recruit, thanks a ton! We need you all! Somercy 12:18, 23 January 2008 (EST)
Also, off-topic, I do use the name Somercy everywhere I am. Where are you, that you know my name? Somercy 12:19, 23 January 2008 (EST)
Ahh, Hello again. Good job on the Daggerfall spells page. I'm not sure exactly what to add to that specific page. Maybe formulas on how the spell costs work if you know? I'm more of a "Chop first, ask questions if they still live" type of person. In response to possible plagiarism for the page, it is possible that the information was transferred from another site with permission, which, is good if it doesn't do anything wrong with our license. In fact, I believe most of the Arena and Daggerfall articles were transferred from another site (most likely with permissions), or have been copied to another site (maybe without permissions). Anyway, keep up the good work. --Timmeh Talk 23:36, 23 January 2008 (EST)

The formulas are exact, arcane, and highly variant. The game seems to be the only arbiter of exactness. But I will try to edit material to apply broadly. The only alternative is to replace someone else's opinions with my own. I do not intend to do that.
