incorrect edit[edit]

Hi,

On 3rd July HoodBot changed the set bonuses for Online:Nocturnal's Favor to those of Online:Aspect of Mazzatun. I have put back the correct bonuses, but thought I should let you know :) TheMikrobe (talk) 13:02, 12 July 2021 (UTC)

- oh, it's also changed Online:Daring Corsair to the bonuses for Stygian, and I assume a bunch of other sets are also affected TheMikrobe (talk) 13:09, 12 July 2021 (UTC)
Another incorrect set of edits on the same day: sets with the bonus "Adds 15-657 Critical Chance", for example Online:New Moon Acolyte, have had it changed to "Adds 15-657 Weapon Critical". I noticed this a few days ago and fixed a couple in passing, but I don't really want to go through systematically and fix them all. TheMikrobe (talk) 13:13, 12 July 2021 (UTC)
For the sets that updated to the wrong one, that appears to have been a database error that has since been corrected. Unfortunately, since I don't play ESO, I have no way to confirm these things beforehand. From what I understand, though, major changes are very unusual with sets, so I'll try to remember that in the future and ask questions when I do see something like that.
The Critical Chance issue was my fault. I believe there was an existing page that linked Critical Chance to Weapon Critical, and I followed suit, linking all mentions of Critical Chance to Weapon Critical. I did it incorrectly, however, and so the text changed along with the link. From chatting in Discord, it sounds like this is an unsafe change to make globally, though, since Critical Chance could also be referring to Spell Critical. I'll revert those to plain text for now, even the one(s) that had a link before. The bot can do little else unless we can figure a way to distinguish the two possibilities reliably. It should all be fixed now. Robin Hood(talk) 00:43, 14 July 2021 (UTC)

Glenumbra > The Wolf's Camp > Boss Health Listings[edit]

Health listed for bosses at The Wolf's Camp in Glenumbra are as follows:

https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Salazar_the_Wolf Salazar the Wolf: 6153752

https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Lieutenant_Bran Lieutenant Bran: 6153752

https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Annyce Annyce: 6153752

I think there might be one too many digits in the Health for each of the three. The total health for all bosses at The Wolf's Camp as listed would be 18,461,256. The typical health for a WB is around 1,846,117.

If the listings are truly accurate, please let me know (jkarkus86@gmail.com). If so, I'll probably need to gather a Trial Group to earn those 5 points.

Thanx. — Unsigned comment by 47.190.2.72 (talk) at 13:21 on 14 July 2021 (UTC)

The bot didn't actually make those changes, a human did. The listings appear to be accurate according to a quick look by our ESO people, but they're looking at it. I don't play ESO myself. Robin Hood(talk) 14:55, 14 July 2021 (UTC)

incorrect edit (2)[edit]

this is possibly the same issue as the one from July that I reported above...

On 10 November 2021 the bot replaced the set data for Online:Assassin's Guile with the data for Online:Light of Cyrodiil. I have reverted the edit, but you might want to fix the problem with the bot. TheMikrobe (talk) 16:56, 15 November 2021 (UTC)

This isn't the bot's fault. It's getting its data from the same database as the ESO Viewer does, and as you can see, the data is the same there as what the bot changed. Looking at the PTS version of the same set, it looks like it was correct when that was generated, so I'm not sure what would be going on there. I'll get in touch with Dave, since he's the one that controls importing all the ESO data, and we'll see what we can figure out. I'll let you know if we find anyting. Create collectible page job[edit]

Hi RH, this discussion is relevant to the above job: Template_talk:Online_Collectible_Summary#Nickname_param_not_working. —Legoless (talk) 15:13, 18 July 2022 (UTC)

ESO Skills, bot is using old details[edit]

The bot is either reverting changes that were made to match current skill details like with Summon Unstable Familiar or failing to update details like with Dark Talons. Seems like the bot hasn't been updated for Update 38. --Sir Quackberry (talk) 07:43, 7 July 2023 (UTC)

It's because the database still needs updating. It's still using U37 data. --Sir Quackberry (talk) 13:43, 7 July 2023 (UTC)
Sorry, that was a coding error. I had the previous and current set of skills inverted. I realized the problem earlier today and ran another update, so everything should be okay now. Sorry about the problems! Robin Hood(talk) 00:55, 8 July 2023 (UTC)

ESO Sets Update[edit]

Why doesn't the bot update old sets, but only adds new ones from the new updates? This is noticeable in the logs, and some sets are updated manually by users. AlexL (talk)

The bot does update old sets, but users often get there before the bot gets to them. I typically leave at least a couple of days after a patch before running bot updates, though, so that the update cycle has all the new stuff by that point. Also, bot updates are only ever taken from the main servers, never from PTS. Lastly, I also often forget, so they end up sitting there even longer before the update happens, by which point even more of them have been updated by hand. New pages are harder to create, so I suspect people are just leaving them for the bot. That all said, if you spot something the bot missed, point it out to me (or a couple of examples if it's a widespread problem) so I can track down the issue. Robin Hood(talk) 05:40, 7 January 2024 (UTC)
For example, this old set has not been updated by the bot: https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Mara%27s_Balm. Official quote from patch notes: "Mara's Balm: Reduced the healing of this set to 1106, down from 1675, to peel back some of its passive healing potential." Here I also see another number: https://esoitem.uesp.net/viewlog.php?record=setSummary AlexL (talk) 10:54, 7 January 2024 (UTC)
Thanks! What you're seeing in the ESO log appears to be correct, since I see 1106 there in a few places. I'll look into why the bot hasn't updated that. (That might take a while, as I'm on a new machine and still getting things set up.) Minor discrepancies in numbers can happen between the bot and the ESO log, but they definitely shouldn't be major like that. Robin Hood(talk) 18:08, 7 January 2024 (UTC)
There was a bug in the program due to updates some time ago that caused existing pages not to get updated properly, but I didn't realize because I saw that at least some pages were being updated. It turned out the bug wasn't difficult to track down and fix, so I've now updated all the pages. Let me know if you spot anything else. Thank you! Robin Hood(talk) 05:57, 22 January 2024 (UTC)
