Hiiii[edit]

Hey there :) Nice to see your name on the RC :D — ABCface 18:03, 14 September 2012 (GMT)

Hey thanks :D. Looks like somebody took a pack of crayons to the RC while I was gone—all these...colors!
*shakes fist at change*
And look at you, a blocker now! Fan-cy! eshetalk 18:10, 14 September 2012 (GMT)
You don't like my crayon design? I am tempted to change the bland parchment theme to packs of Crayolas ;) And, you've got a nice userpage if everyone steals it. I stole it, Whispy stole it, someone stole it from me (has both of our goofy tags and everything ;)) Anyways, glad to see you back :) Snowmane(talkemail) 18:37, 14 September 2012 (GMT)
Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm a gal who likes her colors, it's just that after so many years of the RC looking exactly the same, a couple of colors is enough to bug me, I guess!
Yeah, I noticed some familiar-looking pages cropping up ;). I don't mind, especially since I stole much of the code from someone else in the first place. I made those absurd tags because they made me laugh...I guess I didn't anticipate other people would go looking at them, lol. eshetalk 18:46, 14 September 2012 (GMT)
Hi Eshe! Welcome back! Ironically I had been looking at your userpage just today ^_^.--Skyrimplayer (talk) 19:24, 14 September 2012 (GMT)
Thanks, Skyrimplayer! Always good to see new faces :) eshetalk 19:26, 14 September 2012 (GMT)

References?[edit]

Hola. Been trying to spruce up the Ulfric lore page, as none of the information gleaned from the Thalmor Dossier on him is included in his history (and there's some really good stuff in there..) but I can't figure out how to add the book as a reference on the page. I'm relatively new to tinkering with wiki's, mind.. but was wondering if you could help me out? — Unsigned comment by ‎Grieves (talkcontribs) on 17 September 2012

Hi Grieves! I actually don't edit a lot in Lore space, so I've never used the reference tags myself. However, I can direct you to our fancy help page on the topic (it seems this section in particular addresses how the tool is used on our articles). If that doesn't help let me know and we can try figuring it out together :). eshetalk 16:52, 17 September 2012 (GMT)
Thanks, that helped! Didn't get it quite perfect, still missing some minor detail to get the reference section to provide an actual link, but I'll figure that out later. At least now folks know where I'm getting the info I posted, and that's good enough for me for now. Much obliged! --Grieves (talk) 17:24, 17 September 2012 (GMT)
Good! I'm glad it worked :). And it looks like Minor Edits fixed the link problem, too. eshetalk 18:28, 17 September 2012 (GMT)

Good Morning.[edit]

Hey Eshe, Thanks to you and Vely I really got a feel for how it works. Can you check my userpage though, I have a rogue bracket at the top left that I can't find and I think the picture at the top has a bad resolution as it's different on my work and home computer. Just not sure what I may have doen wrong. Thanks! BTW, I've done a few edits here and there using the Random Page link and they haven't been reverted, guess that means I did those right. ;)--FubarFrank (talk) 15:19, 26 September 2012 (GMT)

Morning, FubarFrank! Glad to hear things are going well :). I'd be happy to take a look at that rogue bracket for you—just give me a couple of minutes to finish this one page I'm working on and I'll see what I can do. eshetalk 15:28, 26 September 2012 (GMT)
I've just fixed it...I think. The cause of the problem is that table ending markers |} have to be put at the start of a line. I realize that the Oblivion images around your name got hidden by my edit, but I wasn't entirely sure what you intended there. I figured once you knew where the rogue bracket was coming from, you could figure out what needed to be done from there. If you need more help, just post here and one of the multitude of people who are watching RC or Eshe's page will be happy to help out. Robin Hoodtalk 15:58, 26 September 2012 (GMT)
Or, since Eshe is here, she will help too ;). As I said, just give me a minute—I don't quite think that's what he was aiming for. I'll take a look in just a sec. eshetalk 16:03, 26 September 2012 (GMT)
Okay, FubarFrank! Sorry we screwed with your userpage, but I think all you needed to do was delete that first bracket. This was the start of your user page:
{|cellpadding="10" cellspacing="8" style="width: 100%; background-color: #000000; border: 0px solid #000000; box-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.5em rgba(0,0,0,0.75); -moz-box-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.5em rgba(0,0,0,0.75); -webkit-box-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.5em rgba(0,0,0,0.75); border-radius: .4em; -moz-border-radius: .4em; -webkit-border-radius: .4em; vertical-align: top;"
|-
| style="background-color: #FAEBD7; border-width: 1px; border-style: solid; border-color: #DCDCDC; box-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.5em rgba(0,0,0,0.75); -moz-box-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.5em rgba(0,0,0,0.75); -webkit-box-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.5em rgba(0,0,0,0.75); border-radius: .4em; -moz-border-radius: .4em; -webkit-border-radius: .4em; vertical-align: top;" rowspan="2" |}
That red bracket was the offender, it turns out. All I had to do was kill it and it seemed to work fine :). Hope that was what you were looking for! eshetalk 16:15, 26 September 2012 (GMT)
Good call, Eshe! I totally misinterpreted the intent...my bad for looking at the code rather than the page itself. Sorry for stepping on your toes. Robin Hoodtalk 16:22, 26 September 2012 (GMT)
No apologies necessary! Actually it was your suggestion that led me in the right direction, and my little "project" is taking me longer than I intended anyway. I wouldn't blame anybody for thinking I nodded off at my desk :P. No worries! eshetalk 16:26, 26 September 2012 (GMT)

Awesome work guys, I thought I needed that bracket there and the culprit was just lingering somewhere in the code, not bad for a noob though huh? I'm concentrating on my UP to get a hang of the wiki before starting any projects so I thought I might as well try everything. Thanks Again!--FubarFrank (talk) 16:48, 26 September 2012 (GMT)

Yeah, it does look like you need it there, but since your entire page (except the My Links section) is a part of that table, the |} you have right before ==My Links== is the one you actually need to close the table. Aren't tables a blast? :P. (Seriously, tables can be so pretty, but so evil. And if you think those are bad, try looking at a template! Just be careful—if your brain is anything like mine, templates may cause it to explode...) eshetalk 16:58, 26 September 2012 (GMT)
Peeked at your Skyrim:Dragon sandbox and it is looking great, keep up the good work. ;)--FubarFrank (talk) 20:27, 28 September 2012 (GMT)
Hey thanks! I appreciate it :). It's still got a ways to go (a couple of those sections toward the bottom are pretty daunting), but we'll see how it goes! eshetalk 20:51, 28 September 2012 (GMT)

() Hey Eshe. I want to work on creating a page that pulls in info for the 2 or 3? Khajiit Caravans under the page Trade Caravan but don't know if it's correct to "Hold" the page with a note or just sandbox it and hope no one else is creating the same page. What is the normal way of doing it?--FubarFrank (talk) 23:45, 29 September 2012 (GMT)

We've go a similar page at here. At least I think that's what you're creating.--Skyrimplayer (talk) 23:47, 29 September 2012 (GMT)
Yep, that's it! Figures, I never tried Khajiit Traders. Think the community would mind if I expanded on it? Oh, and thanks for letting me blow up your talk page Eshe, you are a dear. ;)--FubarFrank (talk) 23:54, 29 September 2012 (GMT)
Go ahead. I don't think the community the rest of the community will mind.--Skyrimplayer (talk) 23:56, 29 September 2012 (GMT)

Falmer[edit]

A recent picture upload for Irkngthand doesn't fit, but may be of use to the Falmer page. It's a picture of a Falmer farm. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 13:31, 7 October 2012 (GMT)

Excellent! I'm taking a bunch of photos for that page too, so I'll add that one to my list when I get around to adding pictures. Thanks for the heads-up, Silencer! :) eshetalk 15:53, 7 October 2012 (GMT)
I noticed your adding the frozen falmer now, there is an unused image of a Frozen Shaman if you need. ^_^ — Kimi the Elf (talk | contribs) 21:59, 13 October 2012 (GMT)
Hey, that's awesome! I was just thinking when I added the tables that I should have been smart enough to take pictures while I was doing those quests...or keep my save games...so, problem solved :D. Yay! Thanks, Kimi! eshetalk 22:11, 13 October 2012 (GMT)

Question[edit]

Hey, Eshe. Sorry if this is a stupid question, but how do you transfer the information contained in your sandbox into the article? Do you copy and paste, type it all out, or do you do something else? Again, sorry if this is a stupid question.--Skyrimplayer (talk) 17:54, 9 October 2012 (GMT)

Hey Skyrimplayer! All you have to do is copy everything from your sandbox and paste it over to the article you want to rewrite. Of course if you only did a section of the page, you'd only want to replace that particular section, but otherwise just copy/paste the whole thing and you're good! eshetalk 18:01, 9 October 2012 (GMT)
Hmm...It dosen't seem to be working properly for me. I can't get the NPC summary to appear in a table form, and it doesn't seem to want anything to do with links or images, just turning them into regular text. If it works for everyone else, I don't know why it's not working for me.--Skyrimplayer (talk) 18:15, 9 October 2012 (GMT)
Huh...I just tried a quick preview using the content of your sandbox, and it seems okay to me. Are you clicking the edit tab on your sandbox and then copying everything in the edit box to the article? eshetalk 18:23, 9 October 2012 (GMT)
Oh... I see. So I need to use the edit button, then highlight, and then copy. Right?--Skyrimplayer (talk) 18:27, 9 October 2012 (GMT)
Yep, that should work! Also, just a heads-up: the NPC Summary will automatically linkify the race in the summary box. If you leave it as a link like you have it now, it will show up as a weird un-wikified category on the actual page. Hope that helps! eshetalk 18:30, 9 October 2012 (GMT)

Rayya[edit]

Rayya leaves and walks around and away from the Lakeview Manner. How can i stop her from doing that? Plus, i want to make her my wife but the option to live at Lake view does not display for her... why is that? 69.243.17.118 03:10, 20 October 2012 (GMT)

Sorry, I really don't know. Your best bet is to ask at Skyrim:Rayya, so I'll go ahead and move this discussion over there. Good luck! eshetalk 20:04, 21 October 2012 (GMT)

Hi[edit]

Hi - Chezburgar (talk) 03:16, 20 October 2012 (GMT)

Hi! :) eshetalk 20:04, 21 October 2012 (GMT)

Image Help Page[edit]

Hi Eshe. I think this page looks a lot better now. Nice work! A little part of me wonders why someone wrote such strong language about there being no "official standards," etc. But I guess if someone has a reason for departing from the policy as now written, they can present their reasons. You're no doubt watching it, but please give my last change a look. I also made a note on the talk page. --JR (talk) 02:43, 27 October 2012 (GMT)

Gah, sorry, I totally forgot to reply to this! I did look at your changes, and it seems fine to me. Thanks for all your input with that page, by the way! It hasn't been updated in a long time, so it's nice to see it getting some attention :). eshetalk 19:37, 30 October 2012 (GMT)

Karliah Image[edit]

Hey Eshe, since you were the one to prod this image, I thought you might be interested in seeing this discussion. —Legoless (talk) 19:06, 30 October 2012 (GMT)

Alrighty, thanks. I suppose I ought to reply over there, so I'll do that in a minute ;). eshetalk 19:37, 30 October 2012 (GMT)

Alchemy[edit]

Hey Eshe, new user here, don't have an account yet. But I discovered a new potion brew that is three times more powerful than the Giant's toe + Blue Mountain Flower + Blue Butterfly Wing, which is currently the recommendation on the Alchemy page. I'm a little lost on how I would post this new recipe, so I'll just hand it off to you if you deem it's helpful to add it. The recipe is for Hearthfire only as it is Salmon Roe + Histcarp, these two give a potion of waterbreathing + extra magicka + Restore Stamina. It's base value is somewhere around 1,500 septims per potion. Making it a very simple brew that levels you up very quickly. Hope to see my recipe on the page! Thanks! -H — Unsigned comment by 24.247.108.45 (talk) at 08:47 on 31 October 2012

Hi there! Thanks for the tip :). I think you've done the right thing so far by posting on the Salmon Roe page. We'll need to test it and get the base values for the potion before we can say for sure it's better than the combination currently listed, so I'll post a quick note on Skyrim talk:Alchemy to make sure somebody takes a look at it. Thanks again! eshetalk 13:57, 31 October 2012 (GMT)
