Blocker Rights

I wholeheartedly support Krusty's decision to give you blocker rights during the current situation because I believe you're capable of using them with good sense. Just to be clear: the whole idea of the Blocker right was to be able to give a lightweight right to enable people to help prevent vandalism when it became a problem. At the moment, while I support you receiving blocker rights, I'd be against them being permanent because of your lack of recent content edits. You've made a lot of useful policy and admin-related edits, but Patrollers (and permanent blockers) need to be more active in game- and lore-space.

I'm saying this now to try to avoid ugliness in the future. I'd welcome you back to the patrolling ranks (and, permanent blockers), but not until there are many more constructive content edits. I hope that sounds fair. rpeh •T•C•E• 23:21, 1 July 2011 (UTC)

It's fair. But I don't want to be a patroller, so no worries there. Haha I'm slowly doing some more editing, but I work 50 hour weeks now. Life's a little hectic. As for the blocker, I just felt like some extra eyes for someone who knows and has seen this vandalism many times before (the other blockers are relatively new). I'll probably stick to the Lore namespace since I don't currently have a gaming console. It might just take some time before I get into a real groove.

However, I have been looking for pages to try to get to FA status, and I'm eyeing Skyrim and Nord right now, for obvious reasons. Elliot (talk) 23:31, 1 July 2011 (UTC)

Patroller

I noticed you mentioned you used to be a patroller. I would like to be a patroller and would like to know how. Thanks.BenScoHolm 02:53, 26 July 2011 (UTC)

Not to put you down or anything but you are still a ways off from being a patroller. According to the nomination guidelines for patrollers, you need two-hundred and fifty content edits to be eligible to become a patroller. As of now you have four content edits under your belt (Twenty counting talk spaces and user space, but you should note that only content edits are counted towards the two-hundred and fifty edits necessary to be eligible to become a patroller). Compare this to Elliot or myself and you'll see the difference.

If you wish to become a patroller I'd recommend that you try your hand at editing so you can get a hang of it. I don't believe anyone has become a patroller without showing a great deal of competance in adding content to the site. Secondly, to become a patroller the easiest way to earn the communities trust that you would be a decent patroller is to start patrolling, answer questions posed on talk pages, review edits for vandalism (Too which you should revert whenever it is found) and mistakes (Which should be corrected if they added useful content, and reverted if they didn't). If you aren't willing to prove that you can be a patroller before applying, you aren't likely to become one. People are even likely to nominate you if they feel that giving you the extra responsibility will help the site.

Once again, I don't want to put you off to attempting this, but you'll have to do a great deal of work to prove that you'll be a competent editor and patroller. I suggest that you start by pitching in with a site project, such as the Oblivion NPC Redesign Project or the Shivering Isles Redesign Project, which should point you in the right direction.
