I'm new here so I may be messing up. I just registered and am ready to learn.[edit]

The below is my contribution to the "World of Skyrim". I wanted to share it with everyone, but looking at some revisions of my addition, I guess I need some constructive criticism in how to share on this medium.Abordoli 22:57, 12 August 2012 (UTC)

Ordinarily Rested (+5% XP), Well Rested (+10% XP) and Lover's Comfort (+15% XP) are not given while having the Lover Stone as your active stone. The way around this is to store The Lover Stone in the Aetherial Crown and unequip it before resting. Using this method can yield as high an +XP% as 50% (if your other stone is one of The Guardian Stones) during for 8 hours after resting. This is great if the quest you're about to go on is within 8 hours travel from home. If not, find a nearby inn, buy a room and settle for 45% +XP for 8 hours minus the journey to the nearby quest. Of course, being a Werewolf nullifies this entirely.

Hey Abordoli, welcome to the site.I don't mean to be rude, but can you please stop posting that glitch everywhere? It's clogging up the recent changes.Just putting it in one place should suffice.Have fun editing the wiki!--Skyrimplayer 22:11, 12 August 2012 (UTC)
Check out the links provided below, Abordoli, for some helpful tips on editing. We generally don't duplicate information in that way across different pages, I've explained a little bit here about some related changes I made, feel free to ask if you have additional questions. And happy editing! ABCface 22:17, 12 August 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, sorry about that. Once I registered and was able to see what was happening (the extra work I was causing) I have ceased and desisted. Using the 'preview' thing should help. I wanted to spruce up the text after I discussed it with a fellow Skyrim player I know IRL and he suggested that it could also be used with Lover's Comfort (which we confirmed to be the case). Let me know if you want me to clean up the other pages with simply a link back to Aetherial Crown with a short note (where the glitch belongs) -or- if you've already done it. I didn't come here to be a nuisance, but am feeling that way despite good intentions.Abordoli 22:26, 12 August 2012 (UTC)
You're not a nuisance in the slightest! We've also got this great policy called "Assume Good Faith."--Skyrimplayer 22:31, 12 August 2012 (UTC)
(edit conflict) No need to be sorry! It takes a while to get acquainted with editing, and UESP has higher standards than other wikis, so we're a little more strict about certain things. It just takes some getting used to, and you shouldn't feel like you're a nuisance at all. :) I've already made some changes to the related pages, though the wiki is always a work-in-progress, so some things may still be tweaked in the future. No worries, welcome to the site and have fun editing. :) ABCface 22:32, 12 August 2012 (UTC)

() I see the edits saying "Using the Aetherial Crown(DG) makes it possible to maximize the benefits of The Guardian Stones by using it with The Lover Stone." on the related pages, but that isn't the main point. The Aetherial Crown(DG) allows the continued use of resting bonuses while still using The Lover Stone. It should probably read: "Using the Aetherial Crown(DG) makes it possible to maximize the benefits of The Guardian Stones by using it with The Lover Stone while still obtaining resting bonuses." Do you want me to make these changes where applicable?Abordoli 22:57, 12 August 2012 (UTC)

Nevermind, I see what you did.Abordoli 22:59, 12 August 2012 (UTC)
Feel free to tweak what you think would be better, but I tried to make the notes on each page to specify the parts relevant to that page in particular. That way, the link to the Aetherial Crown article could provide additional details if users are interested in learning more. I think the Crown page is the best place for more detail, personally, but feel free to take it up on the talk page there if you want input from more users. We do a lot of things by consensus around here, so that might be a good way to go. ABCface 23:05, 12 August 2012 (UTC)
I have something else worth sharing, but it is on Google Docs. If you're interested in seeing the 1970's style D&D fully-comprehensive D&D "sheet" that I created after coming here and asking if one existed and being told no, go here: [1] It is something that I am using during this second Dawnguard reboot playthrough. I've made certain choices in my character that are highly experimental. I'm not really looking for nay-saying criticism, but I do welcome discussion as to the reasons that I see valid as having chosen this unorthodox playstyle. Basically, I got bored of playing the game hacking and slashing away and choose to make my character at the cost of being weak defensively (often perishing with one blow on Master difficulty). In my mind, it makes the game more realistic in that I can't go toe-to-toe as I did in my prior playthrough. Let me know if you want to chat with me on the IRC channel.Abordoli 23:15, 12 August 2012 (UTC)

Welcome![edit]

Hiya Abordoli! Welcome to UESPWiki. It's great when we get new members. Just thought I'd send you a welcome with some helpful info. Check out the following links:

If you would like to spice up your userpage, take a look at the Userboxes page— a near complete list of userboxes, including a guide to making your own.

When you're editing, it's always a good idea to leave edit summaries to explain the changes you have made to a particular page, and remember to sign your talk page posts with four tildes ~~~~ (do not sign edits to articles). Also, the "show preview" button is a great way to view the changes you've made so far without actually saving the page (patrollers really appreciate it!).

Feel free to practice editing in the sandbox or discuss the games in the forums. If you need any help, don't hesitate to contact one of our mentors. Have fun! -ABCface 22:17, 12 August 2012 (UTC)
