Rare Books[edit]

While exploring the ship, I've found quite a few rare (and perhaps unique?) books and one particular book on the end table beside the emperor's bed gave the quest "Forbidden Legend". — Unsigned comment by 71.203.77.37 (talk)

That's not unique, though it is rare. I found a dragonscale helm, and a piece of armor called 'Gilded Wristguards', of which I find no traces of in the wiki. — Unsigned comment by 24.62.136.31 (talk)

Can you use it as a home?[edit]

it would be awesome to have this place as a house and i just want to know are the containers safe? — Unsigned comment by 66.82.162.10 (talk) at 22:36 on 15 January 2012

After doing some research I believe that you can. All the containers on the ship are safe for storage, and npc's don't respawn. After finishing the Dark Brotherhood quest line I wanted to make my character a pirate, and I decided to use the ship. I used the glitch that allows for more than one Dark Brotherhood follower and populated it with my own skeleton crew( Cicero, two DB Initiates, Jenassa, and Meeko.) If your into roleplay its a nice home. You can use the new Boat Hire feature to pretend your sailing from port to port. The only two qualms I had with it is the only entrance being the anchor at the stern and their isn't a lot of action. I would keep a good supply of redwater skooma and sleeping tree sap onboard to keep things interesting. Below is a list of some of what can be found on the ship:
  • There is an Alchemy Lab with a Apothecary's Satchel.
  • 3 jail cells .
  • An Anvil, a Workbench and a Grindstone.(The weapon racks in the armory do not work)
  • Tons of sacks, shelves, cupboards, chests, and food. There is a bar and dining area with 2 plaques for weapons display.
  • Abundance of books, and complete volumes.
  • There are the Emperor's quarters, which contain 2 display cases. However, even though the bed is not "owned" you can't sleep in it. Every other bed seems to work (22 in total). There is also a small balcony on the stern that can be accessed from here.
  • Emperor's Throne on the top deck.

Zones[edit]

I know on the CS it lists the Katariah as a singular cell, but should the number of zones be considered to be changed to two, since there is the main zone of the Katariah, but also the Emperor's Quarters? Helenaannevalentine 04:15, 2 September 2012 (UTC)

Actually Helena, CSList does indicate that there are two cells, not one: the ship itself (0x000bbb2f) and the emperor's quarters (0x000c350d). So, the ship has the exterior zone (the deck) and two interior zones. ~ Psylocke 04:23, 2 September 2012 (UTC)
So should this be displayed on the article page then? Helenaannevalentine 04:26, 2 September 2012 (UTC)
Aha, I see you've gone ahead and added it. Much thanks! :) Helenaannevalentine 04:27, 2 September 2012 (UTC)

The Ship actually moves![edit]

I have noticed it before. Don't know where it stops. Can anyone test this? Dragon Guard (talk) 10:23, 14 July 2013 (GMT)

I think you need to get some more sleep, DG ;) I've never seen the Katariah anywhere except where it always sits: just north of the arch that the Blue palace is built on. — Unsigned comment by Xyzzy (talkcontribs) at 05:37 on September 12, 2013‎
Dragon Guard added a note in the article regarding this. Actually, I've never seen it move too; it's always stationary near the arch. I added a {{vn}} tag, linking to this section, to the note. ~ Psylocke 00:51, 12 September 2013 (GMT)

Description of items[edit]

I am very certain that somebody took many informations from his or her playthrough, which isn't necessarily the case. At least the Steel Mace in the Emperors quarters (locked away) were an Orcish one for me, so it could be a random mace, a leveled mace, or any random weapon at all. Maybe somebody could double check in the creation files? Agreed that it is not the most important issue for the wiki, but I like to read after the fact what I missed, and here I am certain I had it differently. --Ulkomaalainen (talk) 23:05, 3 April 2018 (UTC)

The Assassin on Katariah[edit]

"Inside the ship, a sailor can be seen killing another sailor and a Penitus Oculatus agent that are sleeping." - What in the world? The first time I ran into this I wondered if he was supposed to be "the backup" that Motierre would have presumably hired when the Dark Brotherhood was annihilated. Is that canon? Lisette![edit]

I've been doing some late-game clearing up tasks, and I came to the Katariah to retrieve Windshear from the bowsprit. Of course there were a few dead sailors lying around, and a Penitus Occulatus guy on deck who I had to shoot, but wierdly, Lisette from the Winking Skeever was in the ship's saloon. She seems to think she is still in the Winking Skeever. Very odd... 86.128.180.175 11:45, 19 May 2019 (UTC)
