Another workaround[edit]

If you killed the bandits before you get the quest, simply use console command "resurrect" on one of the dead bandits in the cave and kill him until you have 7 kills required to complete the quest. It is not necessary to travel around until the cave resets. Tested on PC.

I can verify this, I just did it that way. 174.61.224.227 14:11, 6 February 2013 (GMT)

What note?[edit]

I am unsure what note and warehouse is being referred to. Im trying to buy the house in Riften. Please clarify. — Unsigned comment by AmandaJacqueline (talkcontribs) at 01:34 on 8 February 2012 (UTC)

This note and the Riften Warehouse, as mentioned in the quest The Raid. --Velyanthe 01:37, 8 February 2012 (UTC)

Thanks so much. :) — Unsigned comment by AmandaJacqueline (talkcontribs) at 17:05 on 8 February 2012 (UTC)

Bandits not respawning - Xbox360[edit]

I am on the Xbox360 version and the bandits aren't respawning after 30 days inside the cave. The one outside does but every time I enter I see that dead Dunmer Bandit Plunderer I killed from last time and the Bandit Warlord has disappeared completely but hasn't respawned. It might just be mine but worth mentioning in notes or bugs? --Lore Master 16:33, 10 June 2012 (UTC)

summon dead thrall not working[edit]

The "workaround" of summoning a bandit as a dead trall is not working for me. I must've toyed with this poor bandits soul 30 times. — Unsigned comment by 216.80.113.113 (talk) at 17:12 on 18 September 2012

Not working for me either, just tried it, on PC.--95.178.222.120 14:36, 29 October 2012 (GMT)

Picture[edit]

Is the armour in the picture of the "Skooma dealer" aka the boss a mod? If so, does anyone have a vanilla version otherwise I suppose it has to come down, I thought only vanilla pictures were used in non mod domains Emzi43 (talk) 17:32, 28 January 2014 (GMT)

Looks like regular Nordic Carved Armor. Although from the Dragonborn DLC, it will often appear on high-level bandits. --2.247.250.246 03:08, 24 July 2017 (UTC)

Strategy for higher difficulties[edit]

Cragslane Cavern is a tough fight, but for many players not one you want to put off for too long, since completing this quest is required to get the Honeyside home. The bouncer outside and the bandit just inside can be easily fought alone. Deeper inside, you will probably be forced to fight the three gamblers and the barkeep all together, but you definitely don't want to lure the Butcher into the fight until you've finished with them. You might tell your follower to wait at the entrance, then shoot one of the gamblers or barkeep with an arrow and lure them toward the entrance. Fighting in the cramped tunnel will make it hard for them to gang up on you, and be far enough away from the Butcher that he shouldn't notice yet.

Once they're gone, only the Butcher remains, who is a much tougher opponent (possibly also a pit wolf, but it goes down easily). He hits hard and soaks up a lot of damage. If you bring a follower, they will probably be downed over and over again, so be careful not to kill them. The Butcher's main weakness is the fence around the wolf fighting pit. He can't get over it. Jump in and target him with arrows/bolts or magic. He will run to the back room to get into the fence. Before he gets in the passage toward the back room, jump back out of the fence on the far side. This way you can force him to uselessly run in a half-circle around the outside of the fence. Olaus (talk) 16:53, 24 June 2021 (UTC)
