Note about Spell Velocity[edit]

I made a note of this a while back in the Spells page, but I thought it might be more appropriate to be added here. I was thinking a little blurb such as the following might help -- and I could use help confirming if it is *most* or *all* non-instant ranged spells. I also can't recall if there was a way to affect the vertical velocity -- when I tested it I found that firing a spell while running up a hill only seemed to affect horizontal velocity, despite the added upwards motion:

  • The spell velocity on most non-instant ranged spells is affected by player movement. This is most apparent on low velocity spells, such as Magelight and Ice Storm, and can make it difficult to aim spells cast at medium to long range while moving around. Vertical motion (i.e., running uphill) does not appear to affect the vertical velocity of spells. This can cause spells to strike higher or lower than intended when moving forward/backwards and aiming at enemy higher or lower than the player. Cronos 09:34, 19 May 2012 (UTC)
