Unresponsive Sigils glitch[edit]

Also confirmed in the Italian version of the game - tested on an X360, the latest game update does not fix the issue. — Unsigned comment by 93.45.128.188 (talk) at 11:39 on 2 December 2011

Workaround: PC Only?[edit]

I suppose the language switch workaround only works on the PC/Steam version, is this correct? From what i can tell, in the X360 version of Skyrim there's no way to change the language in the settings menu. I'm not sure about the PS3. — Unsigned comment by 93.45.128.188 (talk) at 11:39 on 2 December 2011

I'm guessing you would change the language on the X360 Dashboard, as with all games on this console. Mikeyy 19:48, 3 December 2011 (UTC)

Follower bug[edit]

"(Added this part onto this article)-> No promises that this will work, but we accidentally got her back by leaving Labrynthian & walking up to the highest point on the mountain above where Shalidor's Maze should be (doesn't show on map when outside Labrynthian), walking about for a bit & then walking down the hill & finally fast traveling (may not matter where, but, in this case, to Gallows Rock). While fighting bandits noticed Lydia was with us again. Good luck. Hope it works for others. Have a feeling it was a fluke."

Removed this from the article. Can anyone confirm that this fixes the issue? The Invisible Chocobo 04:25, 30 December 2011 (UTC)
I experienced the same bug where my follower (Lydia) wouldn't exit Shalidor's Maze with me. What ended up fixing the bug was I left the maze without her and then fast traveled somewhere, in this case, to where I already was at Labyrinthian, and she was there with me again. I think just a simple fast travel somewhere will fix the problem. — Unsigned comment by 68.33.216.164 (talk) at 17:47 on 23 October 2012

Dremora appearance after small sphere[edit]

Regarding whether the Dremora will follow you out of the small sphere seems to depend on the way you attack him. If you use conjuration attack (bound bow etc.) on him, he will not appear when you teleport out. There also a note under the hand of the body in front of the 4 staff that warn not to use conjuration. I was able to fight the Dremora 3 times & the first 2 tries he didn't follow when using bound bow, last time he follow when I switch to destruction spell. However once he follow me out of the sphere, I can switch back to Bound Bow. 202.156.9.10 20:03, 14 January 2012 (UTC)

He followed me out of the sphere when I attacked him with a bound bow, so I don't know if that's the deciding factor. I'm also running a number of mods (a couple of which could conceivably interfere with some scripting) though, so I can't be sure all the scripts operate for me exactly like they would in the vanilla game.72.81.93.123 00:47, 30 May 2012 (UTC)

If he fails to follow you, type in "player.moveto 104303" to the console and you will be teleported to where he was spawned.--Lampuiho 09:51, 29 June 2012 (UTC)

Using a weapon with the Paralyze enchantment on the Dremora can also prevent him from spawning outside. 87.177.147.92 06:39, 21 April 2021 (UTC)ShabDez

Response to confimation request in main article[edit]

I conjured a few things at the conjuration symbol near the end of the first part of the maze, to see if it became hostile. I'm on the xbox, if it matters. I tried a Storm Atronach from a scroll, twice. The first time it appeared to my right (I was facing the symbol) and became hostile towards an enemy on the other side of the wall, I think (maybe the Ice Wraith?). I reloaded and tried again (only had 1 scroll) and he didn't appear at all. I tried with a conjure Flame Atronach spell that I'd learned previously, while standing back from the symbol a bit, and the Flame Atronach didn't appear either. I reloaded and tried again, this time standing very close to the symbol. The Flame Atronach appeared behind me and again became hostile to something behind the wall to my right. I wonder if the idea of your conjured creature becoming hostile towards you is related to this? When the Storm Atronach appeared to my right, it moved further away to my right and stopped in the opening at the end of the hallway, then just stayed there threatening the thing behind the wall, which showed up on my compass as a red hostile dot. Maybe other players were mistaking the hostile dot of the thing behind the wall for the hostile dot of the summoned creature? Also, on an unrelated note, the article says 2 Frost Atronachs appear when you're teleported back to the start of the maze after defeating the Dremora. I got 1 Storm Atronach and 1 Frost Atronach. Dunno if that makes a difference, but I thought I'd mention it anyway.Obax 02:01, 16 February 2012 (UTC)

Which bug/confirmation request is this in response to? I don't see anything that seems to relate. Robin Hoodtalk 08:02, 10 March 2012 (UTC)

Killing Dremora in sphere[edit]

It would appear (on Xbox at least) that killing the Dremora inside the sphere (with sneak attack) will not teleport you back out. — Unsigned comment by 89.241.57.51 (talk) on 18 February 2012‎

Incorrect Location Code[edit]

The location code teleports you to a wierd version of Shalidor's Maze, I don't know the technical term for it. It's not the same as the one you enter via the door - the location on the map doesn't even say the same thing. When you walk into Shalidor's Maze the map will only say "Labyrinthian". When you coc to LabyrinthianMaze the map says Shalidor's Maze but there is no exit door, only a black square and most of the floor is missing. You can hear the word wall but not interact with it or anything else around. Just FYI for console junkies. It can be a nasty surprise. Vainamoinen-Talk-Stuff 04:13, 19 November 2012 (GMT)

Not exactly sure if that cell is used for something or not. I replaced the code with something leading to the cell that can be visited normally. --Alfwyn (talk) 14:11, 19 November 2012 (GMT)

Spectral Assassin stole the staves![edit]

If you summon him, Lechance might take the staves before you and you can't get them back.Gabrole (talk) 13:10, 11 September 2013 (GMT)

Atronach[edit]

You don't necessarily meet with fire atronachs at the end. At level 82 I met storm atronachs. Obviously they're levelled. Robert Cannelin (talk) 16:54, 15 June 2014 (GMT)

The dremora always summons a flame atronach if he's not killed in the first fight, but the two atronachs are level dependent, I've changed that back to not show as fire salts as it was correctly shown previously. Cheers. Biffa (talk) 14:46, 16 June 2014 (GMT)

Herbane's Bestiary: Automatons[edit]

The book shows up near the burnt corpse on the CK, but it's not showing up in my game for some reason. Anyone else? Enodia (talk) 00:00, 2 November 2014 (GMT)

Unresponsive Sigils [Update][edit]

The restoration sigil was not responsive to the healing hands spell found in the book nearby. The staff of repulsion worked- as do the other staves, but what exactly is the criteria for Player generated spells to work? Guessing that if Player's spells are at least as advanced as the spells on the staffs, the sigils should activate.--Lmstearn (talk) 06:34, 28 January 2016 (UTC)

From the look of it, all that's required is for the spell to be of the right school. I wouldn't be surprised if Grand Healing also works, even though it's not targetted. Not 100% sure of that, though. Distance might also be a factor. If you still have a saved game from before you used the staff, I'd be curious to know if Healing Hands works if you get closer. Robin Hood  (talk) 21:50, 28 January 2016 (UTC)
I could not get the Restoration Sigil to activate. None of my Restoration spells worked, including Healing Hands. No staff worked either, including the Staff of Repulsion I found in the maze and a Staff of Mending I already had in my inventory. It made no difference how close I stood. I finally got it to work after I left Shalidor's Maze and reentered.104.15.180.18 18:07, 8 November 2017 (UTC)
Try Repel Lesser Undead or Repel Undead. Repulsion = Repel. — Unsigned comment by 146.70.51.154 (talk) at 00:56 on 21 January 2023 (UTC)

Conjuration Spell?[edit]

The Notes section says "If you don't have a powerful enough Conjuration spell, just run to the edge of the globe, and you will be teleported out." This is confusing - at what point do you need a conjuration spell at all, let alone one that is "powerful enough"? — Unsigned comment by 146.70.51.154 (talk) at 00:56 on 21 January 2023 (UTC)
