"Doesn't work" bug[edit]

The resist disease works perfectly. One or two isolated reports from sites of doubtful authority do not count as evidence the other way. Let me be very clear here: the cycle is supposed to be Bold, Revert, Discuss. This misinformed bug note was added and has been revertef by two different users. If the editor re-adds this bug without discussion it will count as edit warring and be dealt with accordingly. rpeh •TCE 09:37, 25 December 2011 (UTC)

I'm not sure what the argument is about, or what this "cycle" is you're referring to (and the typos don't help), but the 100% disease resistance conferred by being a Werewolf will not stop you from contracting diseases. This is true in every version of Skyrim up to 1.3.10.0. It is unclear whether this is a simple bug in that the ability does not do what it says (Ancient Knowledge is another example of this) or if Disease Resistance has a cap similar to fire, frost and shock resistance (and apparently, poison resistance). Whatever the root cause, it remains true that 100% disease resistance conferred by the werewolf ability does not work as its description would imply. I can not speak to whether a necklace of disease immunity works as intended - this would benefit from further testing. Kastagir 07:56, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
Being a werewolf still does not give absolute immunity to disease at patch 1.5.26.0.5 (PC) either. --MortenOSlash 21:53, 11 April 2012 (UTC)
There are two distinct sources of disease, and it's clear (visibly in-game even) that they're handled completely differently. From an animal, "You have contracted <DiseaseName>", and this vector seems to work properly post-1.2. From a trap though, it's simply "<DiseaseName> added": straight to the MGEF as if you'd done it from the console, and this vector unquestionably bypasses any amount of Resistance. Of course, it only takes a single case of a "bite" causing an infection to disprove the "animals work now" part, but there's been a strong consensus since 1.3 that that one really is fixed. Do you remember what you caught it from? Aliana 01:05, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
I can not say for sure, but NPCs' comments on my character's health started soon after I left a dungeon where I blundered right into a falmer tripwire claw trap during a charge at a falmer enemy. I was to busy fighting and healing myself to register any possible messages having been given to me about my condition. The disease was Rockjoint, by the way. --MortenOSlash 04:52, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
Good, since that means it's almost certainly just the known bug again. All diseases are duplicated onto traps, but the animal version of Rockjoint comes from wolves, which you're not going to find in a Falmer dungeon. (The list is here if you're curious, along with the trap bug note). Aliana 08:29, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
I can confirm that even with a necklace of disease immunity equipped, diseases like Rockjoint can be contracted through normal means (e.g. being attacked by a wolf). I assume that disease resistance is either broken or subject to a cap like other resistances. Kastagir 09:53, 8 January 2012 (UTC)

The "cycle" is referring to Wikipedia:Wikipedia:BOLD,_revert,_discuss_cycle and the comment was mostly targeted at a previous editor of the article. --Alfwyn 23:37, 20 January 2012 (UTC)
From what I am aware, the bug is a wierd one. You can contract diseases while having beastblood, but the disease has no effect. The Silencer has spoken 21:59, 11 April 2012 (UTC)

What happens if "Resist Disease" is greater than 100%?[edit]

I know that, in Oblivion, having resist disease over 100% causes you to have some vulnerability to disease. Does the same mechanic exist in Skyrim? I.e. if I have an overcharged enchantment with, say, 10000% resist disease, will it be the same as 100% or will there be some vulnerability like in Oblivion? 66.169.241.204 02:35, 2 March 2014 (GMT)
