Quest here?[edit]

Is there any quest related to Narzulbur? The orcs keep referring to the Chief being weak and undergoing some curse, and there's an interesting clifftop of four graves, but I don't see any option to solve their problems. I even went into the mine to see if someone could direct me to the source of their problem, but nothing. Seems like a lost opportunity here. --Alkorri 18:36, 9 February 2012 (UTC)

The orcs living there might change their dialogue but as far as I have seen there are no quests associated with the place, maybe in a DLC. RIM 20:22, 9 February 2012 (UTC)
The impression I get - based on a couple of her random dialogues - is that Yatul keeps murdering Mauhulakh's wives from jealousy... but I haven't found a quest related to anything. 124.168.71.29 08:41, 4 June 2012 (UTC)
LOL, just came to find out the same thing. Everyone in the camp keeps talking about the chiefs dead wives. Wondering if it evolved into a quest. One of the Orcs in the mine talks about taking over Largashbur. — Unsigned comment by 124.148.234.45 (talk) at 17:49 on 26 August 2012 (UTC)
There is no quest here, strangely. I've seen many people comment on how weird this place is, as it seems to have the perfect quest hook despite the lack of a quest. I would guess that there was supposed to be a quest here, but Beth ran out of time or something. Regardless of the reason for this, there is not a quest here. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 17:49, 26 August 2012 (UTC)

() The quest The Cursed Tribe also involves the orc chieftan (here, of Largashbur) being weak and under a curse from Malacath for allowing Malacath's shrine to be overrun with giants. I suspect that the developers couldn't decide whether to situate The Cursed Tribe here or at Largashbur, and when they finally plumped for the latter, they forgot to tidy up at Narzulbur, much less set up a new and independent quest for this site. 174.6.51.17 04:25, 28 September 2012 (GMT)

Actually: Due to a shortage of manpower in Narzulbur - and the fact that Largashbur has no mine of its own - two orcs from Largashbur (both with the "gro-Largash" surname) are working for hire in the Narzulbur mine. Presumably their job is to provide the ore for the Largashbur smiths: when talking about a cursed chief, it is their own (back in their home stronghold of Largashbur) that they're talking about, Chieftain Yamarz who is genuinely cursed by Malacath for being a coward. They are planning to go back and take over the place. Of course, thanks to the intervention of the Dragonborn, Yamarz dies in battle with a Giant, Gularzob takes over, and Largashbur gains a new chief while its would-be rebels are out of town. There is *also* the fact that Chief Mauhulach of Narzulbur has had four wives die so far, and the orcs of his stronghold are having their own doubts on the matter. However, the culprit here is not a curse, but the rather more mundane matter of a conspiracy between his aunts Yatul and Bolar. Of whom Yatul seems the more culpable, since Bolar refuses to harm a woman who is with child, or indeed harm either of the children - though she apparently went along with bumping off all the wives (and indeed, as the tribe's alchemist, provided the poisons to do so) when they were not pregnant. Unfortunately there is no way to bring this conspiracy, even if overheard, to Chief Mauhulach's notice: and a quest to find him a new wife - which presumably might have required exposing the aunts' conspiracy, to stop her going the way of the other four - was cut from the game when half-finished. There's a critical bit of dialogue that seems to have been overlooked in here. The son attempting to discuss the loss of the Chieftan's wives mentions how strange it is for a midwife to lose all her mothers. This suggests something is being done to these mothers either during or just after childbirth and since one sister is a hunter and the other is the wise woman and presumably the midwife... I have to say both sisters are in on it. That one sister's innocent act and comments about reading the entrails to figure out why his wives "keep finding tragedy" don't fool me

Chief Mauhulakh[edit]

It's simple. I decided to brawl him, he took my 100 gold, but when I beated him he didnt pay up, so I reloaded a save, did it again, but this time he started attacking with a weapon, so did I. He died. No one cared. No bounty up. Nothing. — Unsigned comment by 190.77.19.217 (talk) at 18:02 on 30 September 2012

He took my gold too, and then after a couple hits ran away, no payment, it's bizarre. — Unsigned comment by 24.61.194.71 (talk) at 11:07 on 27 June 2013

Family tree[edit]

Gadba gro-Largash and Mul gro-Largash are marked as partners but they are brothers. --89.212.233.242 20:24, 29 December 2012 (GMT)

Ice and Chitin skill book[edit]

I couldn't find it until I got creative and explored under the tent with "tcl" console command. There it was, lodged half a meter bellow the tent. You can pick it up, raise up above the ground and disable "tcl" again. Maybe it wont appear in same place for others so in this case follow these two simple steps, after opening the console:

- prid e6b

- moveto player

and that same exact skill book will be moved, from where ever it is, to your feet. — Unsigned comment by 109.60.94.196 (talk) at 01:31 on 20 June 2016 (UTC)
