Mace Levels With User[edit]

It appears the mace levels with the user, but I don't have any confirmation. Mine does about 34 damage without any tempering of any kind. Does anyone else have any experience?

The information posted is, i think, affected by low skills and such. Yours if probably higher damage because you have higher skills? --Kiz ·•· Talk ·•· Contribs ·•· Mail ·•· 21:54, 15 November 2011 (UTC)

Daedric artifacts don't level, that's definitely true. The only things that affect weapons such as Daedric artifacts and other weapons that don't have multiple leveled versions are your skill with that type of weapon and how much you tempered it.64.135.48.170 19:56, 7 May 2013 (GMT)

Smithing Perk?[edit]

To improve, it indicates Ebony Ingots. Does that mean the smithing perk for Ebony applies to this as well?--Shm0key 03:05, 24 November 2011 (UTC)

While it does use ebony ingots to improve, it doesn't appear to benefit from the smithing perk. Shaydwyrm 11:20, 8 December 2011 (UTC)
Doesn't seem to benefit from any smithing perks, which makes a standard Daedric Mace do about 30 damage more with similar improvement conditions.
I hope this is fixed. The mace is so amazing looking and would be great if it could be improved effectively.

You can improve it when you have the Arcane Blacksmith perk. My first attempt bumped the damage up to 53 and it says 'flawless' -31 pts Stamina/Magicka damage.

The question that was asked is not "can you improve it?" but rather "which perk gives the improve-twice-as-much bonus?". To which the answer is, "none." --NepheleTalk 08:05, 3 January 2012 (UTC)

Bone Breaker Perk[edit]

Hi all, I just wanted to know if the perk in the one handed tree : Bone breaker affect this mace? — Unsigned comment by 79.86.0.12 (talk) at 15:54 on 7 December 2011 (UTC)

This isn't email don't layout questions as if it were (i have edited so it doesnt take up half a page). Its a 1 handed mace, the very short and simple answer is yes. If you want a silly question like this answered next time use the forums, this isnt the place for questions like that. Also read the nice quote at the top that would of been there when you added your question:
"Please remember that talk pages are meant for discussing the contents of the article, or for asking specific questions. If you want to chat with other users about Mace of Molag Bal, please consider using the UESP forums instead."
It's more a please do NOT, not a please consider, its just being polite. (Killerchronic 03:18, 13 December 2011 (UTC))

It also has the ability to transfer an enemy's strength to its wielder.[edit]

this line seems inaccurate. I have not noticed any sort of drain (abrosb to player) effect in the xbox 360 version of the game. would like someone to confirm before editing. As far as I can tell its only a damage to magic/stamina effect and not a drain — Unsigned comment by 67.234.208.181 (talk) at 08:53 on 21 December 2011

Looks like you're right. I've changed the description accordingly. Robin Hoodtalk 03:50, 17 January 2012 (UTC)

Dark Star Plus Mace Combo[edit]

just thought I would mention this, but using this with the Dark Star basically gives you infinite charge on this thing. I know that isn't a part of the weapon, but it is worth a mention anyways.

General Smithing Question[edit]

I am level 100 in smithing but have not been able to improve this mace past Flawless. Is there a reason why, or do I need to use more smithing enchantments on myself in order to level it higher?

See the chart at Skyrim:Smithing#Item Quality, and note in particular that you must use the "Without Perk" column. --NepheleTalk 08:10, 3 January 2012 (UTC)

"Some NPCs may comment"...[edit]

I thought it was only the guards that say special lines if you have the mace? I may be wrong, though...--SarcasticIndeed 14:17, 22 January 2012 (UTC)

Any npc that has the same voice actor/dialogues as one of the guard's may say it if you have it equipped when near them. They will only say it as non-conversation dialogue, like when you just pass by. They won't say it when you initiate conversation. That might be a bug, since I don't think other NPCs usually comment on the player as much as guards do. --173.31.188.10 17:24, 24 February 2012 (UTC)

Image On The Mace?[edit]

Is it just me, or does the Mace have a visage of Molag Bal eating souls? -- MetaCthulhu (talk) 17:17, 9 September 2016 (UTC)

Ahzidal's dragon priest mask[edit]

The mask further increases the enchantment - just like Augmented Flames - as you'd probably expect it to. However, the boost to Augmented Flames from Aspect of Terror does nothing.

The mask gives 31 stamina and magicka damage with the mask, 46 with the mask and both levels of Augmented Flames - pretty neat. I've updated the page with the details. JDizzle (talk) 10:00, 18 June 2018 (UTC)
