Name[edit]

His name is very similar to House Harkonen from Frank Herbert's Dune universe (though the house was ruled by Barons and not Lords). I see that this is not enough to perhaps have it in the article, but I think it could be wortwhile to keep an eye open for more subtle Dune references, or generic Sci-Fi-references, in Dawnguard and Lord Harkon. 87.236.89.25 11:07, 12 June 2012 (UTC)

Such information would go on the Easter Eggs page. As it is, Google shows a lot of people/characters with the name Harkon, so it's very doubtful that he's based off of anyone from Dune. On the other hand, there's this vampire, but we'd have to know more about him for a definite connection (like if he's mad, if he was or is a necromancer, etc). Very likely an Easter Egg. Also, technically a Baron is a Lord. Lord Nordeck 16:34, 3 July 2012 (UTC)

Isn't He a Breton?[edit]

I'm asking cause I created a Breton and actually ended up using the same hair style he has. The Breton character I made was for the vampire side of the Dawnguard game so I ended up looking exactly just like him... How is he a Nord when he uses a Breton Vampire Face and Hair Styles and such? I highly doubt Bethesda would let Nords and Bretons share the same faces and hair styles... — Unsigned comment by 172.162.4.113 (talk) at 02:30 on 25 March 2013‎ (GMT)

Yes he is a Nord. I think some races do share the same hairstyles. — Kimi the Elf (talk | contribs) 02:39, 25 March 2013 (GMT)
He actually uses HairMaleNord12 (0005140a), so your Breton has a Nord hairstyle. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 02:42, 25 March 2013 (GMT)
Erm yeah, humans share all their hairstyles between them (an exception being Redguards, who share 2 of them with Orcs and have 2 unique ones) and half of them with Elves. In fact, even Khajiits have some hairstyles based on human ones. Elakyn (talk) 10:21, 25 March 2013 (GMT)

Harkon (moved from Skyrim talk:Mehrunes' Razor)[edit]

During the final fight with Harkon, he is also immune due to a bug, whereby Harkon is immune to the "kill" command used by the dagger — Unsigned comment by 82.13.195.224 (talk) at 22:52 on 3 April 2015 (GMT)

Since the chance of getting an instant kill with the Razor is so small, we would have to go into the Construction Set to verify this, and even then I wouldn't be entirely convinced it wasn't intentional due to the nature of the fight and the way it plays out. I know Miraak can't be killed in one go, and I'm fairly certain Harkon can't either, what with all the teleporting when he takes so much damage. Zul do onikaanLaan tinvaak 11:11, 4 April 2015 (GMT)

Bugs and Notes Sections[edit]

This article is incomplete and needs bugs and notes sections. — Unsigned comment by 98.110.245.52 (talk) at 23:59 on 23 January 2017

Feel free to propose or add any then. Remember not to cause duplication by placing bugs here that are already on the more relevant articles (e.g., quest pages). Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 00:42, 24 January 2017 (UTC)
Despite being a NPC, Harkon has a white soul.138.19.109.250 20:15, 7 April 2021 (UTC)
