Lami's Disappearance[edit]

I simply cannot find Lami. She is never in her house, nor her shop. Her husband, Jorgen, was dead in the street next to another man when I first arrived in the town. Has anyone else had this problem? I keep thinking she must be stuck somewhere due to her husband's death. She's also not at the mill nor the Jarl's 'palace.' --Amsuko 05:47, 16 February 2012 (UTC)

Update: I waited 1 hour in the shop to see if it would force her to appear (like Eorlund Gray-Mane at the Skyforge - he is never there unless I wait 1 hour while at the forge, he always pops into existence in the same place). Magically, Idgrod the Younger popped up behind the counter and took up the merchant stance with her arms on the counter. However, I cannot start any conversations with her, she only makes random, repeated replies when I press the talk button. Is she attempting to replace Lami, but is bugged? (Xbox)--Amsuko 06:12, 16 February 2012 (UTC)
Idgrod is not intended to be a replacement merchant. I think she's there simply because she visits the store every day from 3 to 6 pm. There is no replacement merchant for Lami, so if Lami has died, the store's services are no longer available. If Lami isn't in the store, in her house, or somewhere between the two places, I think it's likely she was killed -- the store and home are the only places in her schedule. --NepheleTalk 07:32, 2 March 2012 (UTC)
Lami does seem "pop up from nowhere" as well i.e. enter the shop (downstairs door) after 8.00 am, go upstairs - no-one there. Exit the upstairs door, she's not on the balcony or anywhere near, re-enter through the upstairs door, walk down the stairs, look up, and she has arrived through the upstairs door.--Lmstearn (talk) 14:13, 11 April 2014 (GMT)

Shes rude to me[edit]

I finished that quest for her and next time I was walking into her shop, she says she wanted me to die with a sword through my chest. After that, she engaged me into a dialogue (my only choice was 'Hello') and presenting me a gift: Ragged Robes. If I didn't like them, she said, too bad. Has anyone experienced the same? --79.194.22.73 15:43, 4 March 2012 (UTC)

Level of Alchemy boost?[edit]

As I write this I'm performing the quest that gives "a free lesson in Alchemy"... I admit I'm still somewhat timid about actually editing articles, but it would be useful if the main page tells the reader exactly what "a free lesson in Alchemy" means... how many bonus skill levels does it provide? Is there a limit, as in if the characters skill is above X, then the bonus is X? Vormen 20:57, 18 July 2012 (UTC)

It is one skill point regardless of the current skill (the list of skill boosts is here). I'll update the page to reflect this. Vely►t►e 21:00, 18 July 2012 (UTC)

The gods know what I have done[edit]

Apparently I have done something that Lami is not happy about. Every time I speak to her she says, "The gods know what you have done." The only people in Morthal I killed were Alva and Hroggar, I came in at a bad time nd they turned hostile. Does Lami have a connection to one of them? — Unsigned comment by Festuskreux (talkcontribs) at 06:44 on 21 February 2013

No but she is a part of the general Morthal faction, and that may be part of it. Otherwise I'm not sure what else could be causing this. Lord Eydvar Talk|Contribs 06:50, 21 February 2013 (GMT)
It looks like this is a generic greeting for the FemaleNord voice if the relationship rank is -1 or worse. Lami is the confidant of Alva, killing Alva probably did set the relationship rank to -2 (how that exactly happens needs still figuring out). --Alfwyn (talk) 14:55, 21 February 2013 (GMT)
I never had any problem with Lami, even though I killed Alva and Hroggar in nearly all my game sessions. The only reason it would make sense for her to say that would be if her husband was dead. 92.136.111.56 08:47, 22 February 2013 (GMT)
Yeah, it's something else. I just did some test with getrelationshiprank and console, killing Alva and Hroggar (by hand) didn't change it. Nevertheless it is -2 in my main playthrough - so what caused that? For all I know, faction membership doesn't influence the relationship rank at all. --Alfwyn (talk) 14:33, 22 February 2013 (GMT)
I haven't killed Alva in my playthrough. The relationship rank of Lami towards me is 1 (Friend) and the moment I kill Alva, it changes to -2 (Foe). --Roger (talk) 15:05, 22 February 2013 (GMT)
Is there a way to check relationship rank on Xbox 360? i don't know if her husband is alive, 'll need to check. If he is ead though it would have been a Dragon or Vampire/Vampire Traveller. Not me. I gave her the book she wanted and now she seems okay. A mad thought, could it be because I killed Anise that at one point she was telling me the gods know what I have done? The thought comes from the fact that the book she wants is the same as the one sitting on Anise's table outside her cellar, any chance Lami and Anise could be connected? Anise's copy of "Sons of the Alchemist" was actually the same copy I gave to Lami. — Unsigned comment by Festuskreux (talkcontribs) at 22:23 on 22 February 2013
No, they are not connected. "The gods know what you've done." is a generic greeting for NPCs with FemaleNord voice type whose relationship rank towards you is <= -1 (see this for values). Also, she is not affected by Jorgen's death at all. The game data suggests she is only related to Alva and Falion. --Roger (talk) 23:10, 22 February 2013 (GMT)

() I had the same problem. I don't know what I did but she's obviously pissed off at me for some reason. I saved the town from Alva and her vampire friends, I killed a couple of Cultists that were about to kill me, and I became Thane of Mortal. So I don't know why she would be pissed at me, so I feel the same way you do. — Unsigned comment by 98.226.170.125 (talk) at 20:10 on 25 October 2013 (GMT)

The Elder Scrolls Wiki(not the real one of course, UESP always and forever) states that if the player steals from her, she will say "The Gods know what you've done." Which makes sense. If you complete her radiant quest, some of the items in her house is free to take, like any other quest you do for someone. There might be a bug that causes the game to not recognize that you aren't stealing from her when you take items that are no longer marked as a crime to steal(as in "'steal'[highlighted in red] gold"). Or, maybe the Elder Scrolls Wiki don't know what they're talking about and said occurrence applies to anyone you "steal" from, which may include items in Alva's house. Just a suggestion if anyone wants to follow up on it.97.125.254.5 06:59, 27 November 2013 (GMT)

She sells Skooma?[edit]

Lami rather boldly sells Skooma in her store and even has a bowl of the stuff in the upper-stairs room of the Thaumaturgist's Hut. Could it be implied that she is a addict or possible skooma vendor? Any information on this or is this coincidental placement on Bethesda's part...? 96.238.52.167 04:51, 24 February 2013 (GMT)

Where in the world is Lami?!?![edit]

This was on a PS3 at level 56. I just saw some people talking about either not being able to find her or finding her dead. What I just observed might shed a little light on those subjects. Upon entering town at about 8pm I observed her and Gorm having an argument which progressed to a fight that he was obviously going to win wailing on her with his mace. I obviously didn't want to lose her so I decided to intervene but it was right in front of her shop with guards and people all over the place so I knew attacking him openly was a no-no. I decided to just paralyze him with a spell and as soon as I did the guards were all over me like flies on stink!! They ended up fighting in the abandoned building where Gorm made short work of her. Don't know how to fix this (if there even is a way?) but wanted to put it out there for someone who may be scratching their head.
