Random[edit]

Is this random? I've never encountered the Thalmor on my current character until I found this patrol with this note... Rawb 19:26, 25 December 2011 (UTC)

I am not sure of the trigger, but I think it must be triggered by performing some sort of hostile action, judging from the contents of the note. ESTEC 20:23, 25 December 2011 (UTC)
I wiped out Northwatch Keep, killed a lot of them in the Thalmor Embassy (including Rulindl), helped out Malborn get rid of the Thalmor assassin (though a dragon took care of it for me, so that probably doesn't count), sneakily killed the khajiit assassin they sent to Riften, and killed about three thalmor patrols - one of which had a prisoner who i then freed and gave weapons and food to. And i killed Ondolemar and both his thalmor soldier escorts - in plain sight. i got a bounty and paid it off. i sneakily killed another thalmor that respawned them the imperials took over markarth again.
Still no execution order.
I wish they'd send thalmor soldiers after me, I like killing them and I'm tired of wandering the roads hoping to see more thalmor to kill.ForsakenOne 08:03, 9 January 2012 (UTC)
I think it's a random event. Of course I attack most Thalmor on sight... mainly because Altmer are annoyingly arrogant *-_-. "Mer is better than man" et cetera. Now I want to know why the Brotherhood attacks me... I wish they weren't so... discreet about their customers. Farkas The Wolf 17:57, 9 January 2012 (UTC)
Agreed! Personaly,i hate the High Elves because of their Ignorance and "High and Mighty" attitude. I recon this is as rare as the Dark Brotherhood Assassin attack, so your going to have to wait for a while. I think if you joined the Legion, they stop sending Justiciars. () Could you all refrain from making forum-like posts? And could someone CONFIRM whether this is random or not? -- kertaw48 12:56, 11 January 2012 (UTC)

If it helps at all, my character was attacked fairly early on while travelling on one of the Northern roads (coming West from Winterhold, probably). I assumed it was because I recently joined the College and Ancano didn't like my first impressions. I have no way to verify this, unfortunately, and it may just be coincidence. --Admos 18:11, 13 January 2012 (UTC)
I too just started a new character and had this encounter. The only quest I've done so far is retrieve the dragon stone, but I haven't returned it yet. Other than that, I've just been walking the coutryside and exploring caves, no encounters with the thalmor prior to the attack.174.53.152.188 21:43, 27 January 2012 (UTC)
I've played various characters with different approaches to the Thalmor, and have had interesting results that lead me to believe that this is completely random. I played an Orc Stormcloak who completed all stages of the Main Quest and killed every single Thalmor on sight, even going back to the Thalmor Embassy and completely wiping it out (and even got back inside and killed Elenwen). I played that character for hundreds of hours with lots of exploring, and never ran into the Thalmor Death Squad (as I like to call them). Then I played an Altmer Mage who wore the Thalmor robes from the dead agent found at the Shrine of Talos northeast of Pinewatch, and she was attacked very early on in the game. I played quite a few other characters who never ran into these guys. Now here's what leads me to believe that it's completely random. I'm playing an Imperial who just completed the Thieves Guild quest and had just exited the Twilight Sepulcher when I was attacked by a Thalmor Death Squad. They killed me, rather quickly. When my autosave loaded from exiting the Sepulcher, I wasn't attacked by Thalmor again, but by a vampire and her Vigilant of Stendarr zombie. What really irked me about this one was that this was the first character that I had done the quest for Ondolemar in Markarth, which I figured would keep me in the good graces of the Thalmor, plus the fact that every Thalmor I've encountered on the road I've kept a good distance from. So like I said, my experiences have lead me to believe that this is completely and utterly random, witth no basis on your actual actions in the game at all. Voraxith 21:57, 6 February 2012 (UTC)

() I've never been attacked before. 4 different character races prior to this one. I think it might be linked to character race. Imperials or High Elves who side with the Forsworn or become a dragonborn are a challenge to the Thalmor system. Any thoughts?71.62.242.123 20:04, 10 December 2012 (GMT)

Playing Khajiit this time around, only done Northwatch Keep and selling out that Talos worshiper in Markarth for Thalmor quests. Haven't even gone to see the Greybeards or picked a side but am level 73 and ran across them for the first time on a road outside of Markarth. I had more run-ins with the Dark Brotherhood assassins than these guys. Maybe I should check the CK...Vainamoinen -Talk -Stuff 01:16, 22 September 2013 (GMT)
This issue was resolved. The random event is purely that, a random event, it has only the requirement that you be a minimum of level 8. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 01:43, 22 September 2013 (GMT)
