Quest Links[edit]

I couldn't figure out how to do this, but we should mark which Prophet quest link leads to the Vampire and Dawnguard quest, respectively. PrometheusTheElf 04:08, 2 July 2012 (UTC)

Well the Dawnguard one needs a description more in line with them. I couldnt think of one however. :( — Kimi the Elf (talk | contribs) 04:17, 2 July 2012 (UTC)
I added three words at the end of each quest description on the actual quest page. It's not the most eloquent but it gets the job done. PrometheusTheElf 04:22, 2 July 2012 (UTC)

Elder scroll.[edit]

It says on the elder scroll page that they can be sold to dexion...that is either false info or only the dawnguard side are able to sell it to him because I do not have the option to sell it to him and i'm on the vampire side. 217.137.157.197 22:10, 5 July 2012 (UTC)

I am also having this problem --VergilSparda 12:41, 7 July 2012 (UTC)
I'm also unable to sell them to him. The Orc in the mage college wont buy them either, he wont even buy the first one which he use to want. — Kimi the Elf (talk | contribs) 13:19, 7 July 2012 (UTC)
It looks like it's only available if you're not playing the vampire side, from this information. ABCface 17:50, 7 July 2012 (UTC)
Confirmed that they are indeed sold and thus removed to Dexion for 6,000 gold. I am playing as Dawnguard, and after the questline has finished. The Sun and Blood scrolls were removed; the Dragon Scroll was not removed. — Unsigned comment by 70.68.36.182 (talk) at 07:16 on 11 December 2012‎
Sided with the vampires. sold the two scrolls to him after killing lord Harkon. So you not being able to sell is a bug? — Unsigned comment by 94.224.103.229 (talk) at 21:33 on 14 August 2013

() The latest UGDP (just released) fixes this. As he didn't have the dialogue before it was impossible for you to do this without the UGDP being installed. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 21:47, 14 August 2013 (GMT)

Blindfold item?[edit]

Is there any way to equip his blindfold? Is there a console item ID for it? — Unsigned comment by 166.248.10.209 (talk) at 22:37 on 6 July 2012

I think you want this - 'Moth Priest Blindfold' (xx0047da) I'm not sure if you can find it in game, but it should be available with console I would think— Kimi the Elf (talk | contribs)
There is indeed a Moth Priest Blindfold, and you can add it via console, but it is an invisible item, and won't appear in your inventory. — Unsigned comment by 70.68.36.182 (talk) at 07:14 on 11 December 2012‎

Selling the Elder Scrolls Bug?[edit]

I've run into a bit of a challenge when it comes to selling the Blood and Sun Elder Scrolls. I've had no dialogue option to sell them to either Dexion Evicus or the loremaster at Winterhold. Has anyone else run into a glitch with this, or have I missed a step? The UESP states that after the quest Kindred Judgment I should be able to sell them to Evicus, but I have no dialogue to do so. 24.116.188.107 02:41, 10 July 2012 (UTC)

Do you have the Dragon Scroll as well? I know I sold all three for 6k gold when he asked. Its possible you need all 3 to sell them.--Enriquevv75 02:44, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
I do have all three. I noticed above here that the Vampire side of the quest might be bugged. Were you playing for the Volkihar or the Dawnguard? 24.116.188.107 02:47, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
Dawnguard. I noticed you did not mention the Dragon Scroll so that is why I asked. --Enriquevv75 02:49, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
Sorry about that. Yes, I played on the Volkihar side, have all three, but I can sell the Dragon scroll to the Winterhold librarian, just not Sun or Blood to Evicus. 24.116.188.107 02:52, 10 July 2012 (UTC)

() To make this clear, the Elder scrolls can ONLY be sold to him when playing for the Dawnguard. I have a character on each side, And only the Dawnguard one can sell them, and only (Sun) and (Blood), (Dragon) still needs to be sold at the College. — Unsigned comment by 108.16.143.23 (talk) at 01:13 on 3 August 2012

I don't think it is a bug at all. Dexion is a THRALL on the Volkihar side. As long as he remains one, he won't be able to travel back to Cyrodiil anymore. He is not his own person anymore. This is somewhat similar to the courtyard entrance from the Volkihar Keep will never be fixed if you side with the Dawnguard. You gain some and lose some siding with different clan. It doesn't make sense to be considered a bug. — Unsigned comment by 175.142.182.36 (talk) at 14:34 on 4 December 2012 (GMT)

Broken AI[edit]

The "Simple Fix" solution, doesn't really do anything, it seams that he has a predisposition to having a broken AI. He's always in combat, even if I reset him completely change his disposition, and move him to me. There's more to fixing this guy than a simple reload. Still haven't found a solution to it yet.Aryeonos (talk)

Here's what worked for me, as I was many gameplay hours past Dexion's rescue when I discovered his bug - I used the prid command to select Dexion Evicus, removed him from all factions, set his aggression to zero, and then put him back into the Moth Priest faction. So far, after 20 more hours of gameplay with lots of saves, loads and re-entering Fort Dawnguard many times over many in-game days, Dexion seems to be bug-free (I can converse with him, there's no aggression toward my character or other NPCs, no combat, etc.). The console commands I used are as follows ("xx" in each ID number stands in for the mod's placement in my load order, Dawnguard was 02 for my setup, YMMV)-
prid xx007B88
removefromallfactions
setav aggression 0
addtofaction xx008874 1
Hope sharing that info can help other players. ButrBiscut (talk) 05:10, 31 January 2013 (GMT)

Weird position.[edit]

As soon as I got Auriel's Bow and reported to Isran, I noticed Dexion was standing in the main room of the Dawnguard Fortress with this blindfold, and his hands extended as if he were reading an Elder Scroll, but nothing is in his hands (which maks sense, seeing as I haev all 3 in my possession). I can talk to him as normally as always, but I find this rather odd. Schiffy (talk) 17:26, 20 November 2012 (GMT)

Yes, he can be seen acting as if reading an Elder Scroll even after completing the quest in which he actually does so. This is noted on the article. — ABCface 20:59, 20 November 2012 (GMT)

Hostile Moth Priest fix[edit]

Kill all enemies before releasing him... — Unsigned comment by 70.190.247.253 (talk) at 20:18 on 8 June 2013

On PC, after you defeat him the first time and talk to him while he's down use ~ key then type in the "Disable" command while targeting him then type in "Help Dexion" which will give you a list of things associated with Dexion Evicus... your looking for the number associated with NPC Dexion Evicus (last five digits should be 005b0) then you use the command "player.placeatme" followed by the number for NPC: Dexion Evicus. This should spawn a new unhostiled Dexion Evicus at your location. -courtesy of adevilinneed — Unsigned comment by 184.78.193.87 (talk) at 13:25 on 19 February 2014 (GMT)

Check the sleeping coffins![edit]

There may be a vampire asleep in a closed coffin, who will wake up after you release the moth priest, causing the quest to be bugged. Check every one of the coffins (on the lower and the upper levels) and make sure all of them are open and empty before you free the priest. 174.6.51.17 01:30, 7 May 2014 (GMT)

Can become thrall above level 10[edit]

Does anyone else think it's odd that Vampire's Seduction works on him even if he's above level 10? Lore-wise, this may mean that people above level 10 can still become thralls. — Unsigned comment by 65.185.149.169 (talk) at 00:42 on 17 October 2015 (UTC)

Hostile Dexion[edit]

I killed all the vampires with a bow and stealth from entrance. When I approached Dexion he was grateful for my rescue and he agreed to go to Fort Dawnguard. I went and disabled the barrier for fun and Dexion turned hostile. I used Pacify to make him interactive againand Bend Will is likely to work as well. — Unsigned comment by 205.200.42.177 (talk) at 03:38 on 26 June 2017 (UTC)

You are supposed to subdue a hostile Dexion. The bug listed already notes that Bend Will can be used to temporarily fix the actual bug where he is permanently hostile. A bug listed on the quest page shows he can spawn outside the barrier, and has a suggested 'fix' of not lowering the barrier as that is what triggers his permanent hostility.
