RefID[edit]

I checked his RefID by clicking on him. I got 'ff0015c7'. Is this correct? Or did anyone get a different RefID? (I'm new in checking out RefIDs.) Galacticninja 07:24, 12 December 2011 (UTC)

  • It's probably not an issue for this specific entry anymore, but for the record, any RefID that starts with "FF" is essentially unique to your game. Technogeek 03:11, 27 May 2012 (UTC)

I've killed him like 5 times.[edit]

Every time I encounter him, he does the same thing... he demands the money that I allegedly agreed to give him, and then attacks me when I say no... and every time, I kill him. A few weeks later, I always run into him again, and we repeat the cycle. Please stay dead this time, Deep-in-his-cups. Please. — Unsigned comment by 74.138.157.17 (talk) at 20:35 on 1 January 2012

Edit Removed[edit]

hey! someone deleted my addition. I found that if you make him hostile, it is possible to yield and make him non hostile. my explanation may have been too long, but that shit is stuff people might want to know. I was glad to not have to kill him OR pay him.— Unsigned comment by Texaspete (talkcontribs) at 00:16 on 12 February 2012 (UTC)

Your addition has been reverted by two different editors stating that the described behavior is true of many different NPC and as such not warranted for inclusion on a specific NPC page. If you feel that this behavior is not common or true or any other NPC then you'll need to provide evidence to the fact here on the talk page before it is included. To be fair, the currently displayed recommendation of killing him isn't an especially novel solution either, and a not terribly subtle one. --Vometia 12:27, 28 May 2012 (UTC)
Actually, that's a pretty important note. True, this affects most if not all NPCs, but in this case the difference is 10,000 gold, which is substantial. I re-added it. • JATalk 23:28, 29 May 2012 (UTC)

Dead-In-His-Cups and from Beyond the Grave!!![edit]

I ran into DIHC around Dragonbridge and paid him 750 gold and parted amicably, probably a month ago. Just stumbled onto his body south of the Sacellum of Boethiah, presumably killed by the frosttroll. Anyone else ever encounter his body randomly? (Magskall 20:07, 22 August 2012 (UTC))

I haven't, but this is probably not noteworthy. He is not essential, and any non-essential NPC, especially ones that make a habit of running around in the wilderness, may end up dying at the hands (or claws) of some nasty critter. --XyzzyTalk 05:16, 23 August 2012 (UTC)
Around Shriekwind Bastion I came across the already Dead-In-His-Cups again, but very much alive and well and looking for money. (again) I have tonnes of gold so I just paid him the 750 and carried on. I paid him off around level 20, found him dead around level 47 and had him running up to me again at level 54. "Un-hostil-ized"[edit]

He attacked me when I did a failed persuasion attempt, then I hit him once, and he got knocked over. Then he got up and said something like, "Forget it; this isn't worth it" and walked away. I don't think this is supposed to happen, but it happened to me. o_o 98.217.230.157 01:37, 22 May 2013 (GMT)

This is actually supposed to happen. If you sheathe your weapon without killing and your enemy is friendly by default, the combat may be stopped. 81.25.53.125 12:12, 31 July 2015 (UTC)
