Eternal Fear?

Bug for me seems to be that after killing Grelod, Constance runs around the room in fear and will never talk to me again, no matter how many times I exit and return, and even if Grelod is sleeping. I was wondering how to trigger that “Calmed reaction” mentioned above? I was hunting for these two missing dialogue lines: "Grelod... murdered. Here. I... I need... air... You... you... Get out of here! Get out!" and "Just... leave here! Leave us alone!" but I couldn’t “calm her down” at all, no matter what I tried. I’m not the biggest expert on the spell, however, so I figured I’d place the dialogue here for further testing. --Krusty 07:42, 6 April 2012 (UTC)

If you paralyze Constance and she is paralyzed while you kill Grelod, she will not be in fear when she awakens. I have not figured out a way to calm her down once she is already frightened. 81.101.142.39 18:25, 19 August 2013 (GMT)

For those from the future like myself seeking answers: Constance will remain frightened until the quest Innocence Lost is completed. Visit Arentino in Windhelm, finish the quest, and return to Honorhall Orphanage. Constance will then resume her duties. Cyrthurix (talk) 10:12, 6 October 2021 (UTC)

Hearthfire adoptions?

I killed both Constance and Grelod on the DB mission innocence lost, so I have not recieved the letter about adoptions, is there any other way to adopt? 86.150.147.144 17:28, 6 September 2012 (EDT)

It doesn't say so in the article, so i'd assume you can't adopt, but you could try going there anyway and talking to the kids themselves. That might work. Emzi43 (talk) 17:24, 7 September 2012 (EDT)

Wedding Dialogue Bug

For some reason every time I try to talk to Constance the only response she has is the "Congratulations! I hope you have a wonderful life together!" dialogue and cannot be interacted with.

I've checked her for all the factions that I would assume trigger the dialogue and she is not a member of any of them.

Adopt from Grelod?

From article: "After Hearthfire is installed, either Grelod the Kind or Constance will start putting children up for adoption", in my experience, as long as Grelod is alive, you can't adopt a child from the orphanage..? — Unsigned comment by 92.32.114.46 (talk) on 0:03, 3 October 2014
