During hail sithis, I got a 40 gold bounty for attacking commander maro in commander maro's crime faction anyone else get this? Andil the mage 17:42, 14 December 2011 (UTC)

I killed him while sneaking and immediately received a 1000-gold bounty in "Commander Maro's Crime Faction", despite the fact that no one had seen me. Reloaded an old save, went right up to him so he recognized and attacked me, and nothing. Shahrazad the Listener (talk) 10:46, 4 December 2017 (UTC)

Oritius Maro

A note regarding an NPC with the same name (Oritius Maro) in Morrowind was removed by Alpha Kenny Buddy as "concidental". I wasn't aware of the MW character before, but upon looking him up I'm having a hard time believing it's just concidence. MW-Maro is a member of a group aiming to assassinate the Emperor, and SK-Maro is a member of a group protecting the Emperor from a group that aims to assassinate him. Commander Maro's name is probably an Easter Egg. It's too similar to be a coincidence. It's funny too, since it seems that two hundred years later, this family is still tied to conspiracies to assassinate the Emperor--only this time, it's from the opposite side. I agree with you, it's too much for coincidence. Skyrim's scenario staff was pretty careful about NPC name-sharing, because everyone I've run into so far who shares a last name with an NPC from an earlier game is a direct reference to that earlier character. Further proof: the Talos Cult that was intent on murdering Uriel VII were Talos worshipers who wanted to put a "strong man back on the throne." Why does Motierre (also an Easter Egg) want Titus Mede dead? Because he wants to put a strong man back on the throne (namely, himself). The incriminating note claims that Gaius Maro was conspiring with the Stormcloaks, hard core Talos worshipers, to assassinate a weak emperor. If everything had gone as planned, history would have falsely remembered the assassination of Titus Mede II as being a conspiracy between the Stormcloaks and a corrupt Penitus Oculatus officer, hiring the Dark Brotherhood to do the dirty work. If not killed during Quest

For me he headed back to the Penitus Oculatus outpost in Dragonsbridge. He became the target of a Hired Muscle quest at one point. He is not hostile, speaks just as he did before the quests concerning him began, and, as I observed by quicksaving and then reloading because I didn't want to do it for real, killing him did not incur any bounty or provoke the agent in the building.— Unsigned comment by 76.11.96.54 (talk) at 02:52 on 25 August 2014
