Not Stealing[edit]

This has happened many times to me. After you help her with Mikael, all the produce at her stand won't count as stealing anymore if you take it.— Unsigned comment by 67.236.25.14 (talk) at 18:24 on 25 March 2012 (UTC)

It happens for most people you help. After doing a favour they become your friend and do not mind you taking some of there stuff. — Kimi the Elf (talk | contribs) 19:22, 25 March 2012 (UTC)

Standing in the Market[edit]

I've played a lot of Skyrim over the past year, and have seen a lot of interesting bugs and glitches, but I've just stumbled upon one that is driving me nuts. Both Carlotta and her daughter Mila are standing in the middle of the market, no matter what time of day. They don't move at all. Has anyone encountered this bug, and is there a fix on PC? Thanks. Voraxith (talk) 01:01, 15 December 2012 (GMT)

I don't know how or why this fixed it, but the two of them went back to their normal daily routines once I killed Nazeem. Strange, I know. Voraxith (talk) 09:46, 15 December 2012 (GMT)
This happened to me today, after many long playthroughs. First time seeing it. I took my fix from the comment above, and used telekinesis to toss the bucket from the well at Carlotta; she went hostile and I surrendered to the guard who immediately rushed up (release me/thane dialogue) so I was able to watch Carlotta walk back over to her stall and revert back to a functional vendor. Should I make a note in the article about this, or wait for further evidence of this as a bug? --Crayolamanic (talk) 00:16, 27 February 2013 (GMT)
To clarify, I was thinking that the note should mention the buggy behavior, with a suggested fix being to engage in activity that will cause the NPCs (including Carlotta) nearby to enter hostile mode. --Crayolamanic (talk) 09:36, 28 February 2013 (GMT)
Yes its happens to me 2 times. And only when Im playing orc - guess its just accidence. Look's like it bugged dialog between them wich dont proceed as normal, so they stuck staring at each other. — Unsigned comment by 78.106.178.72 (talk) at 07:42 on 2 March 2013 (GMT)
Yes this happened to my Breton as well. What I did to fix this is used console and placed-at-me a wolf(player.placeatme 23abe 1). She starts attacking the wolf. After that she goes back to her daily routine. This applies to her daughter(take care of the wolf). — Unsigned comment by 124.43.196.196 (talk) at 16:23 on 19 July 2013

Attractive vs Boastful[edit]

Carlotta claims to be the most attractive woman in Whiterun (if not all Skyrim) by telling the player that (nearly) all the men in Whiterun have proposed to her. However, it should be noted that all the information regarding her suppose attractiveness comes solely from Carlotta herself. None of the men in Whiterun ever express feeling attracted to her to the player, other NPCs or to Carlotta within the hearing of the player. Only the bard seems interested and only to maintain his reputation. Since she is the sole source of information for her supposed attractiveness, she should not be considered to be a reliable unbiased source. I've edited the article to reflect this. 173.209.109.75 01:38, 3 August 2015 (UTC)

I get what you're saying here, but I think you may have went to bit of an extreme in your editing the article. While it is possible that she might be making these stories up for whatever reason, it is just as possible that all these men are indeed providing her with unwanted attention. Suggesting that she is making all these stories up to boast holds as much issue with bias as the previous version if not more since her comments about her daughter at least backed up the idea that she is receiving unwanted attention from men. NPC's in Skyrim really don't talk too much about each other in dialogue or conversations when compared to Oblivion, so other characters not mentioning being attracted to Carlotta in dialogue is sort of a weak point.
Still though, I'd agree that the paragraph in question needs to be edited. I think slipping in something along the lines of ",and according to Carlotta," early on in that paragraph would have fixed a lot of the issues it had regarding her bias as a source. The sentence about Mikael needed to be changed completely, and I think just saying that she is receiving attention from him is enough. There's really no need to discuss his intentions or reasons for expressing an interest in her in this article. Judging by a book he wrote called A Gentleman's Guide to Whiterun, it wouldn't be outright speculation to suggest that he is attracted to her anyways in contrast to his interest being only about reputation as you suggested. I edited the article to hopefully introduce and present Carlotta in a less biased way. I think this version of the article effectively discusses her claims about receiving attention from the men in town without making a judgement one way or the other that she actually receives said attention. I think this is the best way to go as, while no one in town may mention being attracted to Carlotta or proposing to her, it does not mean that it hasn't happened. This is simply a limitation of the game as characters only have so much unique dialogue and as such cannot have information or gossip about everyone in town. A recent example comes to mind where no one on the Red Wave will talk about the death of their captain Safia should she be killed during a quest related to her. In real life, obviously the crew members would talk about the death of their captain. However, due to a lack of recorded dialogue they will not mention anything about this event that should seemingly have a large impact on their lives.
If you feel the article is still biased in some way, please feel free to discuss this further here. I simply made the change right away as your version presented her as a liar without much evidence that suggests she is one. Forfeit (talk) 03:43, 3 August 2015 (UTC)

False advertising[edit]

Carlotta says, "Fresh-baked loaves, still warm from the oven!"but when you look, she has no bread in her inventory! Grimbold (talk)
