When Does He Go Hunting?[edit]

What Time? — Unsigned comment by 75.22.93.56 (talk) at 19:44 on 7 January 2012

I have never seen him go hunting before. I've followed him a bit for the contract, but I get impatient really quickly, so someone should verify if his "hunting trips" actually happen.64.135.48.170 18:36, 7 May 2013 (GMT)

Does killing this person for dark brotherhood effect the radiant quest in any way?[edit]

a quest for dark brotherhood has you kill this person. does this effect companions quest line? the article is not clear. — Unsigned comment by 184.79.189.32 (talk) at 22:30 on 25 February 2012

No. "Hired Muscle" is a Companions radiant quest, whereas "Kill Anoriath" is one of the multiple contracts that the Dark Brotherhood has lined up. For the purposes of game mechanics, he lost the lottery on "Hired Muscle," and but he is scripted to be a target for the Dark Brotherhood. Not a popular guy, this one. Drifa, Bersi Honey-Hand's wife in Riften[edit]

Well I was doing my Thieve's Guild initiation test today on my new character and after a few reloads because Bersi kept going for weapons then dying, right after I successfully beat him up in a dual he went into conversation with his "Worried Wife" Drifa. He asked her about 300 gold worth of Spices in the Log Book and she at first denied. When Bersi said that the log was in her ((Drifa)) writing and that he should do all the writing if she can't do it or remember what the expenses were for, she immediatly changed her story that those spices were for someone in Whiterun. Anoriath, before, has mentioned that he uses exotic elven spices for his meat ((It's been awhile since I heard this dialouge though)) I wonder if Anoriath and Drifa could be in some kind of secret lovers thing and Bersi found out so he summoned the dark brotherhood on Anoriath.--67.185.108.121 19:12, 6 September 2012 (EDT)

Nah, it's actually Olfina that put the contract on him for almost revealing the thing she had going on with Jon--Cantbeonforums (talk) 13:57, 27 April 2021 (UTC)

Essential?[edit]

I'm doing the Dark Brotherhood quest where you're required to kill Anoriath, but the game will not let me kill him -- it is acting like he is essential. Is this a bug or is there a reason for this? If it's a bug, is there something I can do with the console to make him non-essential so I can finish the quest? Thanks! 24.105.239.233 01:58, 30 December 2012 (GMT)

I see nothing making him essential. But if this is really the problem, the flag can be cleared by using the console command setessential 13b97 0 . --Alfwyn (talk) 16:00, 30 December 2012 (GMT)

anoriaths coffin[edit]

If you've done the dark brotherhood quest where you kill him, a chest will appear in the whiterun catacombs with his name on it. It holds his clothes bow dagger and random food. Do we know if this happens with any of the other marks from the db questline, and if so should it be included on their pages? — Unsigned comment by 174.26.19.201 (talk) at 20:38 on 17 March 2014

Coffins appear for most NPCs that belong to one of the cities. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 20:50, 17 March 2014 (GMT)

Killing Anoriath[edit]

Is there any way to kill Anoriath without pissing off his brother? I've tried long distance arrows, getting a mercenary to do it for me, and fire runes at his stall and in his bedroom. But I still get called a miserable wretch. — Unsigned comment by 75.155.148.199 (talk) at 07:37 on 24 January 2017

As listed on the quest page, using frenzy potions via the poisoned pickpocket perk avoids the disposition. I can attest to this method in my current game, though it would be easier to pickpocket him when he's sleeping rather than in the market. or get him pissed off so he wont attack/be a jerk or be friendly--Cantbeonforums (talk) 13:58, 27 April 2021 (UTC)
