Notes[edit]

Angarvunde Caverns does not seem to exist. Fett0001 19:11, 13 January 2012 (UTC)

Tip: Rather than try to reach her body, just stand on one of the stone heads and use Unrelenting Force to knock it off the pedestal. 98.165.130.46 02:34, 18 January 2012 (UTC)

Broken sword?[edit]

Behind the trap is an open chest with a skeletal hand (decoration) and a broken sword. I forget the exact name, but it was close to "broken sword handle". I kept it, it appears to be a weak weapon but I could not find anything here about it.... perhaps a quest item, or just junk, I do not know. I think this "fake" chest is what was attracting the NPC to rush in? I kept it in case it turns out to be of use later.

Also, it was not clear to me that there was a stair under the trap, at first. May be worth a mention that the trap opens the path.

Clearing the sides does NOT open the door. You have to notice and flip the levers to do that, if you miss a lever, the door will remain closed.

I realize it is probably leveled enemy, but I faced an insane number of tough undead in this place. At one point I had 2 of the deathlords and a mage-wight chasing me. It may be a small tomb but it was one of the most difficult I have faced on any of my characters, going in here at 30. — Unsigned comment by 66.18.49.84 (talk) at 16:02 on 25 January 2012

The Broken Steel Sword Handle is just one of many pieces of broken junk. It is not a weapon, just an unusable miscellaneous item. --NepheleTalk 16:22, 25 January 2012 (UTC)

Location and Quest Pages[edit]

Can the location page and quest page be linked to one another should they be consolidated into one page? I don't see any mention of the location being quest related other than entering the cave and speaking to Medresi Dran. If that is correct and no other quest points the player toward this location than the quest information should appear on this page too. Thoughts? (Jack Acid 16:05, 13 February 2012 (UTC))

Generally speaking, we prefer to leave the quest and the location separate. Given how early we still are in terms of developing the site for Skyrim, it's probably best to wait until both pages are more developed in any event. You're absolutely right, though, they should be linked to one another, and I've done so on both pages. Robin Hoodtalk 22:42, 13 February 2012 (UTC)

Clearable?[edit]

With the 1.5 patch, after finishing the quest, the dungeon was marked "Cleared" on the map. I checked the definition for "Cleared" and it only talks about map marking. In that sense it should be Clearable Yes. But, the Dungeons Cleared counter in my journal did not increase. Han 15:21, 28 April 2012 (UTC)

Just to confirm the above, Angarvunde is definitely clearable. Grey 20:18, 10 May 2012 (UTC)
It originally was marked as unclearable because it does not contain an official boss creature -- normally killing the tagged boss creature is what makes the place become cleared. However, it turns out that its related quest's script manually calls the SetCleared() function. I'm guessing that because the cleared flag is set by script that it somehow bypasses the normal cleared counter, and therefore doesn't add to your journal. --NepheleTalk 00:48, 11 May 2012 (UTC)

Damageless Floor Trap[edit]

Maybe this was just a strange glitch or something with my game, but running into the trap room ahead of Medresi and standing on the trap with her did absolutely no damage to me. Anyone else tried this? 67.165.28.66 22:52, 19 May 2012 (UTC)

Another bug[edit]

This is a bug mentioned in another wiki (happened to me). If you go to Angarvunde looking for the final (third) word, you will not get it. Sound plays but the word wall is malfunctioned. No fix for this. No such problem if you look for the 1st or 2nd word in Argarvunde. — Unsigned comment by 210.195.247.250 (talk) at 09:15 on 30 May 2012

Just to clarify, which platform are you playing on? Kitkat TalkContribE-mail 09:24, 30 May 2012 (UTC)
It sounds a lot like the normal Word Wall bug that doesn't allow a number of words to be learned. Perhaps it's just certain words in certain places? Vely►Talk►Email 17:56, 20 June 2012 (UTC)

Minimum level?[edit]

Has anyone checked the CK recently to see how this works? Twice now, with two different characters, I've gone in to Angarvunde to find the first chamber filled with Draugr Deathlords even though the characters have been levels 16 and 11. The zone is marked as minimum level 6. Has this changed, is there a screw up in the spawning list, or is it just some random bug? Quillan (talk) 19:05, 18 February 2013 (GMT)

More than likely, since it is a quest zone that never resets, the Draugr are specifically placed there as such, and are not leveled, for purposes of the quest. Jeancey (talk) 19:26, 18 February 2013 (GMT)

Follower bug in the Fake Chest room[edit]

There is a bug with the steps in the room with the fake chest as if your follower follows you down the steps to Word Wall they will get stuck at the bottom of the steps and they are unable to get back up the steps without having to be Fu-Rah-Dahed all the way up the steps while they are talking. Also if you leave them too long on the steps they will teleport back to the bottom of the steps. Very annoying bugs and I had the above problems with my follower. 2.219.134.4 10:10, 8 May 2013 (GMT)

Bug: Killing Medresi[edit]

Medresi doesn't seem to actually carry the key, so if you kill her before she gives you it you won't be able to progress. — Unsigned comment by 46.59.58.68 (talk) at 05:55 on 18 February 2014 (GMT)

That might as well be intended from the developers, so even if it is irritating and feel illogical, it is not enough to call it a bug. —MortenOSlash (talk) 19:30, 18 February 2014 (GMT)
This has to be a bug because after killing her you receive the misc objective "Discover the treasure of Angarvunde" Also anything that permanently prevents you from learning a word of power or makes quests/objectives impossible to complete is a bug. DraconisMaximus (talk) 09:28, 7 January 2018 (UTC)
The only bug would be the inability to complete the objective. The fact that an objective was written and applied in the case of her death shows that killing her was anticipated by the developers. Given the bugs listed, at some point she does carry the key, so the point at which you kill her might be important to completing the quest (stage 50 "Find a way to open the gates" appears to add the key to the players inventory), but then a note on the page also states that the objective can be completed even if you kill her straight away. PS, Bugs are unintended side-effects, there are at least three walls you can permanently prevent yourself from reaching by your own actions and none of them could be considered a bug, and that reasoning applies to killing Medresi (killing her is not the "right" way to follow the quest and any consequences are your own). Attempting to Save Medresi[edit]

Skyrim SE Xbox One 2020-09-05 23:10 PM ET USA... I used a novel approach...

The Werewolf transformation and follower exchange a few things equipping glitch with 5 of the Amulet of Talos to have 100% improved shout recovery time.

I had equipped the slow time shout and hit her with the ash shell spell that makes the target invincible while they remained within the ash shell, yet immobile. The strategy was that she NOT be killed by the spike trap.

Prior to throwing the switch that opens the final gate, I did the slow time shout and ran next to her before she even entered the trap area where she would normally be killed. The trap did not go off twice where I had cast her into a ash shell state additional times.

When the trap finally did get triggered, she was stuck to the roof spikes. At that point she was hard to see excepting her quest target arrow. I hit her twice with a heal other restoration spell while she was still stuck to the roof spikes. Then she fell still alive through the roof of the rock spiral staircase column onto the top flight of steps. I hit her with heal other restoration spell, and she disappeared. I looked around and found her on the bottom-most step of the spiral staircase dead.

It seemed so close to having her survive, but because of the scripting, she had to end up dead where upon I looted her poor dead body. Long beforehand I had provided to her via reverse pickpocket an Ultimate Healing potion that was still on her person, so that stuff was unused by her at any stage.198.91.176.251 03:34, 6 September 2020 (UTC)
