Type[edit]

The bot typed this as "Giant Camp", which is a bit strange. --Alfwyn 23:54, 1 December 2011 (UTC)

Can it really be used as a free house or do some things reset? AZButcher 13:05, 18 December 2011 (UTC)
If you're still looking for an answer, the containers talk page had a list of zones the console showed as having a "never reset" command and this house was one of them. However, you'll notice that no one has attempted to update the actual containers page to reflect this, - but the user seemed confident. If a pc user could confirm, it would be good to actually say it in the page, that the house is set to "never reset." --Amsuko 01:23, 23 February 2012 (UTC)
If you still want thanks then I shall give you my thanks. Definetly living here. 81.109.125.190 11:18, 5 July 2012 (UTC)

Boethiah's Proving[edit]

I couldn't find this book anywhere in the house; there's no bookcase in the second room, and there was nothing under the bookcase in the third room. Unless, of course, the book got thrown about (and stuck somewhere) when the house shook during the first part of the quest. Reka 09:26, 17 January 2012 (UTC)

The book can only be found after player reaches level 30, according to the Boethiah's Proving wiki page. Alphabetface 05:02, 18 January 2012 (UTC)
I agree with the first poster, the book cannot be located @ level 39. Wedged in a mesh perhaps?
2nd edit: Found it- under the dresser in the second room.(Lmstearn (talk) 12:11, 28 October 2013 (GMT))

What state is the house in after the Quest is complete?[edit]

Does the blur effect cease, do clutter items stop poltergeisting around, and, most importantly, does the illumination level come up to "normal", or does it remain dark, making it difficult to see?Evil-i 16:27, 26 February 2012 (UTC)

Can you live in the house without finishing the quest?[edit]

I want to live in the house, but I don't want to have to travel around the Reach trying to find the priest and fighting Forsworn. Is it possible to never finish the quest?

I've tried to not the quest for Sanguine, but that didn't work well.(I was hoarding Wine in my inventory....)Now I have a worthless Sanguine Rose,(Worthless because I'm a Conjuration Master),and I'm trying to find a free house to store all my non-needed stuff and also a place for role-playing. — Unsigned comment by 98.20.137.140 (talk) at 22:30 on 24 July 2013‎

I always start this quest as early game as possible but rarely finish it until level 30~50. All the containers are safe with 1 quirk. If you strip all the containers you will find that later "Unused" containers, i.e. those you do not fill with something, have a chance of having food placed in them. However, I have never seen anything placed in a used container nor have I had anything removed. I kept careful notes on the contents right after Skyrim was released and periodically check as updates occur to make sure nothing changes. This house, Helgan Keep, and The College of Winterhold Hall of Attainment room are usually my primary homes/storage till at least level 50.
Also, when I do finish the quest, I leave everything in the containers I'm using and have no items lost after the quest finishes. At one point, right after the game release, I was separating things so much I was using virtually all the containers (memories of Oblivion & Fallout 3 container lag issues). I don't anymore, to much work and I'm by nature lazy :)
Hope that helps. Philbert (talk) 16:24, 30 August 2013 (GMT)

Stacked Chairs[edit]

Hey, the stacked chairs on the table in the first room, I posted in the forum that it could be a throwback to Morrowind with the sixth house cult stacking chairs and what not. I was told it was most likely a poltergeist reference, but that I should post this so it can be discussed. Furthermore, it should be added to the note section or whatever. I checked there to see if it was there and it wasn't so I posted the post, not knowing it was in the Easter Egg section already. I would do it myself but don't really feel like learning how to edit pages just to do one measly note on an obscure page lol — Unsigned comment by 128.227.183.74 (talk) at 06:06 on 6 December 2013‎

This information only belongs on the Easter Eggs page; it never goes on individual articles, even in a notes section. Thus, it's already where it should be. Vely►t►e 20:33, 6 December 2013 (GMT)

Nothing to do with the reference but if people want a "cleaner" free house without the stacked chairs and clutter everywhere, when you first enter the house kill the vigilant immediately. Molag Bal will advance the quest like normal saying "your prize is deeper", yet the table will remain normal and none of the "haunted" effects will ever take place. I always do this since I don't like the chairs being stacked and stuff. 71.68.41.99 03:19, 7 September 2015 (UTC)
