Unlike the other two wives Arob and Gharol (who slave in the stronghold day and night), Shel is clearly the favored wife and gets to spend all her time with her husband, doing absolutely nothing. She simply stands next to her husband while he relaxes outside the longhouse between 7am and 7pm. She then enters the longhouse for a five-hour dinner before she goes to bed at midnight for seven hours of sleep.
She wears a set of tavern clothes with boots, wields a leveled mace, and carries a number of arrows for her leveled bow. She also carries the key to the longhouse and a selection of middle-class items, food and gold.
Not particularly talkative or pleasant, she will not show any sign of remorse for the other two wives, saying, "I am Burguk's favored wife. He knows my beauty should be praised.", and "Arob and Gharol eye me with envy. They don't know how to please their chief." She will even badmouth her husband's other children with "Umurn and Nagrub will be held up as weak next to the son I will one day bear for my chief."
In the evenings, she can be heard talking to the chief about Gharol:
Shel: "My chief, Gharol threatens to have me work in the mines. You won't allow my pretty hands to dirty, will you?"
Burguk: "No, my wife. You have been given other gifts to please your chief than mine work. I will talk to Gharol and all will be well."
Shel: "Oh, thank you my chief!"
