Quick Walkthrough[edit]

Note: This quest does not appear in your journal.

  1. Travel to Four Skull Lookout.
  2. Kill Eigorn and Oren and take the Crusader's Relics.

Detailed Walkthrough[edit]

Upon arriving at Four Skull Lookout for the first time, you will encounter hostile bandits wearing the Relics of the Crusader and the Reforged Relics of the Crusader. The former are the holy relics of Pelinal Whitestrake, while the latter are a new set of light armor pieces styled after the originals.

Four Skull Lookout is a bandit den. In addition to the regular bandit enemies, Eigorn, Oren, Remy and Viparth can be found here. They are your targets, as Eigorn and Oren possess the Relics and will use them in battle. Kill the thieves and loot all twelve of the new items from their bodies to complete the quest. You can optionally also loot Viparth's Journal for some explanation as to how bandits are wearing these divine relics.

Reward[edit]

The items you receive from this quest are as follows:

If you commit any crime whatsoever, at any point in the game, you will receive a message advising that your crimes have made you unfit to wield the Crusader's Relics. Attempting to wear any of the relics after this point will result in a significant debuff to your stamina and health regeneration and your carry weight. The quest The Pilgrim's Path will be automatically started, directing you to nine remote shrines to repent for your sins and regain the ability to wear this equipment.

Notes[edit]

  • At release, this quest appeared in your journal and was started automatically upon installing the Divine Crusader Creation, or as soon as you left Helgen Keep as a new character. This was changed in the Anniversary Edition.
  • Unlike in Oblivion, the Crusader's Relics could originally be used by evil characters, including the bandit thieves. This was changed with the Anniversary Edition update, which added the quest The Pilgrim's Path.
    • With the Anniversary Edition update, an explanation was added as to how bandits were able to wield the Crusader's Relics: the two bandits, Eigorn and Oren, were new recruits and hadn't committed any crimes yet.
  • Prior to the Anniversary Edition update, there were no named bandits at this location. Eigorn and Oren were instead two generic Bandit Thief enemies.

Notes
  • Any text displayed in angle brackets (e.g., <Alias=LocationHold>) is dynamically set by the Radiant Quest system, and will be filled in with the appropriate word(s) when seen in game.
  • Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
  • Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
  • If an entry is marked as "Finishes Quest" it means the quest disappears from the Active Quest list, but you may still receive new entries for that quest.
  • On the PC, it is possible to use the console to advance through the quest by entering setstage ccMTYSSE001_StartupQuest_Alt stage, where stage is the number of the stage you wish to complete. It is not possible to un-complete (i.e. go back) quest stages, but it is possible to clear all stages of the quest using resetquest ccMTYSSE001_StartupQuest_Alt.
