J'darr, a Khajiit bandit, is a skooma addict found in the Alftand Glacial Ruins. He was a member of a stranded expedition, along with his brother J'zhar, and is one of the last surviving members of the expedition. When you encounter him, he is suffering from fully developed skooma withdrawal and severe hunger. He is immediately hostile to you.
His brother signed him up for the expedition to wean him from a severe skooma addiction that had been plaguing him for some time. After the skooma ran dry, he suffered a decline in mental health accompanied by delusions and hallucinations, as mentioned in his brother's journal. Some Research Notes found elsewhere suggests that the Khajiit brothers were attacked by Dwarven automatons and were merely left by the rest of the expedition.
J'darr wears a belted tunic with a pair of boots. His armor consists of a pair of leveled gauntlets and a helmet (both up to glass quality at level 36). He wields a woodcutter's axe and carries three potions of minor healing and a leveled potion of fortify combat skills.
After entering Alftand Glacial Ruins, a delusional J'darr can be heard speaking to his deceased brother J'zhar and looking for the skooma that he believes J'zhar had hidden. "Where is it? I know you were trying to keep it for yourself J'zhar... You always try to keep it for yourself!" Unable to find any hidden skooma, his behavior becomes frenzied, convinced that J'zhar is in fact trying to steal his skooma: "No! There's got to be more Skooma... Shut up! Shut up! Don't lie to me J'zhar! You hid it! You always try to steal it from me!" As you move closer, J'darr will assume you are part of the expedition. "What? Who is this, Brother? Another of the smooth skins looking for food? But this one wasn't trapped with us..." However, his thoughts quickly return to skooma: "No... No! You must be the one who took my skooma!" After the battle, you will find that J'zhar has been dead for a very long time.
