Alchemy[edit]

The following alchemy ingredients can be used to create a poison of Fear:

Enchanting[edit]

The following items use this effect. You can learn how to enchant custom items with Fear if you find one of the following items and disenchant it:

  • All weapons of Cowardice
  • All weapons of Despair
  • All weapons of Dismay
  • All weapons of Dread
  • All weapons of Fear
  • All weapons of Terror

Artifacts and unique items that use the effect but cannot be disenchanted include:

Spells[edit]

The following spells use the Fear group of effects. Following each spell is the specific variant of the effect that it uses:

  • Fear: Fear (0001ea77; InfluenceConfDownFFAimed)
    • With the Master of the Mind perk, instead uses: Fear - Master of the Mind (0009e0c1; PerkMasterMindConfDownFFAimed)
  • Rout: Rout (0001ea7a; InfluenceConfDownFFAimedArea)
    • With the Master of the Mind perk, instead uses: Rout - Master of the Mind (0009e0c2; PerkMasterMindConfDownFFAimedArea)
  • Hysteria: Hysteria (0007e8d8; InfluenceConfDownFFSelfArea250)
    • With the Master of the Mind perk, instead uses: Hysteria - Master of the Mind (0009e0c3; PerkMasterMindConfDownFFSelfArea250)

Notes[edit]

  • If the Intense Flames perk is unlocked, the fear effect Intense Flames Fear (00012fcd; PerkIntenseFlamesConfDownFFAimed) is added to all Fire Damage spells.
  • Unlike similar effects in previous games, if you fight and injure an enemy under this effect, they will still flee rather than canceling its effects and turning to fight.
  • Although Fear is considered a negative effect and will result in a poison, it does not benefit from the Poisoner perk.
  • The Fear effect can have several uses: evening the odds if you are outnumbered and/or cornered in a tough fight, making an enemy flee so you can either run away or heal, or making a tough enemy flee so you can deal with the weaker ones first. You can also use it on singular enemies in enclosed spaces (such as ruins or caves) so you can attack them without reprisal, though you will have to chase them as they continue to flee from you.
