Dialogue[edit]

Speaking with him, he can tell you things about the culture of Fargrave or the sights for a small amount of coin:

"These rivers of sand hide many secrets. I can tell you what I have learned, if you have coin to spare."
"You are wise to seek guidance, beeko. For a pittance, my knowledge can be yours."
"Mortals without an appetite for knowledge do not last long in Fargrave. Come. I will share what I know. All I ask is coin and an attentive ear."
"Let this be your first lesson: nothing in Fargrave is free."
"You thirst for knowledge, I think. As for me, I am just thirsty. Perhaps we can help each other."
You know a lot about Fargrave?
"It is a very complicated place, beeko, but yes. Would you care to hear about the sights, or the culture?"
Tell me about Fargrave culture. 0000006969 Gold
What can you tell me about the sights of Fargrave? 0000006969 Gold
Tell me about Fargrave culture.
What can you tell me about the sights of Fargrave?
"A Daedric merchant's wealth is not measured in gold, but in favors and debts. Property is a means to power—and power is all they desire.
Remember this when you do business with them, or you will find yourself paddling upstream on trouble river."

"You will not find food in the Daedric quarters. Dremora think food attracts mortals like a carcass attracts flies. Even so, the Stricture states that eating is permissible.
So, always be prepared to eat something that is not strictly-speaking food."

"If you really want to offend a Daedra, ask them what time it is."

"Save for a few outliers, only low-caste Daedra do business with mortals.
From what I have been told, it has less to do with looking down on mortals than it does with mortals being unable to gather enough debts and favors in a single lifetime."

"Remember, no one rules Fargrave.
When a scamp declared itself King of Fargrave, the Grasp determined there was nothing preventing it in the Stricture. So, they built a small throne room and bricked him inside. As far as I know, he is still there."
"Legends say that the skeletons littering Fargrave were once porters for a great palanquin that traveled the void of Oblivion. They walked, and walked, and walked, until they died. But unlike other Daedra, they did not come back.
No one knows why."

"The Nereid in the southwest fountain fell in love with a Dremora and followed him here through a river of memories that flows from Nirn to realms beyond. When she arrived, she found herself trapped.
Now, the Dremora will not let her go."

"Very few people have explored the dunes outside the city. One Golden Saint set out to explore the wilds outside the walls. She walked for weeks, but the horizon never grew closer.
A Dark Elf did the same, but never returned."

"Each of the flying books you see in the bazaars orbit a master tome. Unless you cross the book's title out in blood, they cannot be separated. So, be wary of any merchant offering to sell you one. If you purchase it, you won't keep it for long."

"That is enough.
So, do you know why there are no mirrors in Fargrave? The Xivilai are compelled to defeat their reflections in combat. I have seen them sneer at their own faces when inspecting a blade. There is a madness in them that has no cure."
