The first time you accepted a quest from the Saraathu Tong:

"It's my business to know everything that goes on with the Saraathu Tong, so I know that you're one of the recent hirelings. Impressive record so far. Very well, which contract did you accept this time?"

If you completed quests from the Saraathu Tong before:

"I'm glad to see the Tong realizes the importance of the matter I brought to their attention. What can I do for one of the best hirelings in our employ?"

Vaveli hired me to kill Taupezu Azzida and destroy the liminal rods in its lair.

"You seem like you're more reliable than the last group that took this job. Honestly, adventurers these days are as spineless as they come. But I don't think you'll be the same. You have a different look about you."

What happened to the last group?

"Ha! Those slackwits ran as soon as they needed to fight something other than cultists. Worse off, they left the rods! Just left them where they were. In the lair of an intelligent mer-eating beast!"

Is it a problem that the rods are now in a Mantikora's lair?

"Did you not just hear me say it was intelligent?
I don't know about Taupezu Azzida, but I've heard of Mantikora bartering with cultists. Bartering! Let's not be stupid enough to give it something it can gift to our enemies."

Why do you need rods for the teleportation spell?

"Oh, interested in the inner workings of the spell are you? Sorry, but that's classified Saraathu Tong knowledge.
The short, unclassified, explanation is that they anchor the spell. They secure one side of the portal to a place. Hence, liminal rods."

How will I know the rods when I see them?

"They'll be the only thing in the area that doesn't look like they belong there. And they'll be glowing with magic, so very hard to miss."

Speaking with Ulvena after collecting the rods but before completing the quest:

"Oh. It's you. Back already from the Mantikora's lair? Or are you here to ask more questions while the Tong's secrets lie in the claws of that beast?"

I killed the Taupezu Azzida and destroyed the liminal rods.

"Good.
I won't be ungrateful and say that you took too long, so I'll just settle with saying that you did a better job with this important task than that other group. I plan to make sure they never work again."
