Reformatory Rescue[edit]

As you approach, she will warn you to hide:

Tufeh: "Pssst! Don't just stand there, Scamp-foot. Hide!"

Speak with Tufeh to see what is going on:

"Get down! Don't let those entrail-suckers take you too."
Who are you hiding from?
"You really don't know anything about where you are, do you? That's the Brandfire Reformatory. Nothing good happens there! The Order of the Waking Flame cult takes people inside and they don't leave again. It makes this one's fur stand on end."
Do you know what the cult's doing in the Brandfire Reformatory?
"No. This one just saw the cultists force her sister, Pibiha, inside. If Tufeh could fight, those kyncursed cultists would be hanging above a lava flow by their ears!
Tufeh cannot help Pibiha now. Would you look for her? Tufeh can pay!"
I'll search the Brandfire Reformatory for Pibiha.

After you agree to help you can ask some questions:

"Pibiha's hare-brained adventures have gotten her into trouble in the past, but being kidnapped to the Brandfire Reformatory? If Pibiha is unharmed, this one may just maim her herself.
Please, find out what has happened to her."
How did Pibiha get kidnapped by the Waking Flame?
"Pibiha tries everything at least once—especially if she knows it's a bad idea. When Merrunz' cult gained power in Fargrave, Pibiha was curious about them. She went to one of the cult's meetings with a friend.
They never came home."
Are you sure your sister didn't join the cult?
"You think this one didn't ask her the same thing when Pibiha told her where she was going? Pibiha scoffed. Said that she didn't have anything to fear or gain from Merrunz.
Then she called the Fire-Cat a kitten and laughed. She laughed!"
Who is Merrunz?
"Others call him Mehrunes Dagon, Khajiit know him as Merrunz, the kitten. He is … not feared by many Khajiit. This one is beginning to wonder if that is a mistake."
If your sister never came home, how do you know she's here? (Appears after asking one of the other questions)
"Because this one followed her.
She hoped to convince her flame-fried sister not to do anything stupid, but the cult moved quickly. Pibiha was shoved through a portal out of Fargrave and there wasn't time to think. Tufeh had to jump through too."
Who are the Order of the Waking Flame?
"You've been wandering out here and you haven't run into them yet? They're everywhere!
The Waking Flame is Merrunz' newest mortal cult. They appeared in Fargrave a short while ago and already have a surprising amount of members."
What are they trying to accomplish?
"That … is something Tufeh does not know. But since they follow Merrunz, this one is sure that whatever those sand-eating beetle feeders are up to, it will bring pain and suffering to the rest of us."
Is there anything else you can tell me about the cult?
"It might be a trick of the heat, but Tufeh thinks she sees the faces of prisoners on the cultists who walk out.
If this one's eyesight is true, then what goes on in the Reformatory makes her feel like beetles are crawling through her fur."
What is the Brandfire Reformatory?
"Word of this place came to Fargrave, our home, from the mouths of merchants. They say it's a maze where those the Waking Flame finds unworthy are left to rot.
Pibiha used to laugh about that."
Why did Pibiha laugh about the Brandfire Reformatory?
"Because this one's sister, despite her lack of self-preservation, is a fairly logical person. She said that no cult or Daedra would let their prisoners be wasted like that. They'd be sacrificed at the very least.
Now the cult has Pibiha."
Do you have any idea what goes on inside the Reformatory?
"No. None of the merchants know what happens inside. Anyone taken inside isn't seen again.
All Tufeh knows is that prisoners disappear inside the Reformatory and she only sees cultists leave."

Once inside, you can search for Pibiha. You will find some of her personal affects as well as signs of what the Cult does to people they bring there. Deep inside the keep of the Reformatory, you will find Pibiha's body and a letter to bring back to Tufeh.

Once you are outside, Tufeh will call to you:

Tufeh: "Hey, over here! It's been a while since any cultists went into the Reformatory. How did you fare?"

Tell Tufeh what you found and hand her the letter:

"Did you find Pibiha? Where is she? Is she all right?"
Here are your sister's belongings and a note, it's addressed to you.
"A note? But that means …. Oh, my foolish sister—always so proud.
Here's your reward, stranger. You brought as much of Pibiha back to me as you could. Even with the pain they bring, Tufeh is glad to have these words."

Speaking with Tufeh after completing the quest:

"It is not a surprise, but the shock of her death still hurts.
My stupid, foolish sister. She just had to go to that meeting."
What are you going to do now?
"Tufeh should go back to Fargrave, as soon as she can. She didn't tell her family where she was going when Pibiha disappeared. They must be so worried."
Will you be able to get home?
"This one came to the Burn through the Plaza of Portals in Fargrave. With luck, she'll find the portal here still open when she retraces her steps.
It's no use solving a problem that may not exist. So, this one won't worry just yet."
You're very optimistic.
"Pibiha never gave into sorrow and neither will Tufeh.
Don't worry, just because Tufeh is cautious does not mean that this one has not had her own adventures. She'll manage."

Against All Hope[edit]

If you helped Tufeh during Reformatory Rescue, return to Fargrave after defeating Nokvroz and seemingly all of Fargrave has turned out to celebrate your victory:

"Pssst! Tufeh doesn't want to draw you away from the festivities, but she recognized you. You helped her out by the Reformatory.
Did this one hear you stopped the cultists' plans again? Thank you. You've helped more than just Tufeh's family."
How did you make it back to Fargrave?
"This one retraced her steps. The path to the portal was well worn by those ever-burning cultists. Tufeh even gathered the courage to free some of the cult's prisoners whenever she came across a group of the flame-cursed kidnappers."
But you're not a fighter.
"Knowing her sister's fate changed Tufeh. She lacks combat skills, but she knows how to be quiet and where to cut. Tufeh won't bore you with the details, but she hopes to free every innocent person from the Waking Flame's clutches."
That seems like a big job.
"It is. But Tufeh now knows the impact one skilled adventurer can have. She will train herself and set off when she can do some good."

Hope Springs Eternal[edit]

Join the celebration at Leyawiin Castle:

"Merrunz and his putrefying swill of a cult whisper their lies into unsuspecting ears. You do a good thing. Tufeh only wishes she had the skill to help you in your fight."
What's next for you?
"Tufeh will spend some time with her family. She has learned not to take them for granted.
After that? This one has given some thought to exploring Tamriel. There must be embers of the Waking Flame still lit. Tufeh would like to extinguish them."

After Eveli gives her speech:

"This one is not surprised. You had the courage to enter the Brandfire Reformatory to recover a stranger's sister. Of course you'd be the one to shove those half-witted pyromaniacs back to the pits where they belong."
