Thaeraen is a Wood Elf magister found inside Bangkorai Garrison after the garrison is retaken. You'll find her at the Mages Guild post with her fellow guild mate, Arbhuz.

"Well, not yet—but it's great that you brought it to me. You're already well on your way to earning membership in the Mages Guild.
Did you know the guild rewards people for books like this? Probably not. We don't really advertise."

"Docents earn standing in the Guild by bringing rare books and scrolls like this to our already vast and impressive libraries. As their reputation grows, so do the rewards. And everyone likes shinies, right?

"Great! I'd typically administer an exam to gauge your aptitude, but you seem, well, apt.
I hereby grant you the rank of Student in the Mages Guild. Every book acquired, or collection of books completed, will earn you status in the guild. Good luck!"

If you're part of the Mages Guild, she greets you.

"Oh, hello again. I'm still waiting on a few more signatures before I can head back to Valenwood. But maybe they'd take some books instead. What've you got?"
