Raand

Raand is a Redguard merchant who runs the Snakeskin Suds tavern in Hallin's Stand.

Dialogue

While the Imperials occupy the city, Raand will give you a warning and some advice.

"Keep your voice down. You never know who might be listening."

How are you holding up?

"Me? So long as I smile, and joke, and keep the tap wet I am safer than most. My business is another matter. These Imperial curs drink up my ale like the desert sun and pay me nothing in return.
I should not complain though. It could be much worse."

How so?

"I sent my tavern boy out to fetch some water from the well. On his way out the door he simply brushed one of the Imperials with his shoulder. They took offense and demanded an apology. He refused … stubborn pride."

What happened?

"I feared that they might strike his head off right there in the doorway, but they simply sneered and hauled him off. I know not where.
He hasn't returned."

Once The Shifting Sands of Fate is completed, he will be in a much better mood.

"By Tall Papa's starry breeches, it is good to be rid of those stinking Imperial curs. I would offer you a drink on the house had they not plundered my cellar. A simple "thanks" will have to suffice.
It is just a pity that you did not come sooner."
